My college team is actually the school that Leslie will be attending next year...UNC, which may I add is also ranked #1 in the nation. Yeah we beat BCS by 3 points, but last time I checked all you have to win by is 1 point...I'm just sayin!!!

WOW SaintKnute, you called this game perfectly. Now, being from the area and knowing how DC fans hate losing, what you want to bet you hear one or more of the following excuses.

1) We should have hit our free throws

2) The refs made bad calls

3) Our seniors had an off night

4) Our freshmen didn't play as well as they could have

5) Coach McChord (or coach of the year lol) didn't have his "magic"

6) One of the best assistant coaches in the state was off the mark in their suggestions

7) Our team hasn't gel enough since our players didn't grow up playing together and transferred in legally.

8) We went further than we were supposed to

I'm still listening. This radio guy isn't good at all. Earlier he said 53 seconds left...I thought he meant in the game...I was listening to 2 games at once and keeping up with the Lake Co. more than the DC game and thought it was about over...

Fred was acting with alot of class tonight. They called DC for the runner-up trophy and everyone else just sat there. Fred got up and looked back for his team to come. By doing that and acting in the manner he did earned alot of respect from me.

3) Someone said CJ is better than his brother Montrelle... WRONG! Montrelle was a better player. He could handle the ball just as good as CJ, could pass as good as CJ, can shoot better than CJ. I know that makes no difference, but I thought I'd give my opinion.

Mr. Genius of all things basketball, Montrelle could shoot better than CJ and that is it. CJ is a better ball handler than he was, and he definitely can pass better. You also have to take into account Cj's leadership abilities. Cj is the better point guard.

so why didn't he go to middle school with all of these friends? he went to dc because they have a good basketball team, plain and simple.

Saintknute, give it a rest. Let people enjoy their wins. People want to get on this forum to discuss basketball, not the issues that a players family faces. He went to Dyer County, so what? It has become an obsession for some people to throw accusations towards Dyer County's kids.

Jerry Powell, Brian Fisk, CJ's brother (i forgot his name) - those two above are good, but they wouldn't ever start in the backcourt on the team that contained those three players early this decade so i don't know how they can be the best ever

 

you are in high school so you don't really understand how good those three were , just ask somebody they'll tell you

 

they used to whip us every time (except once in district tourney) and we were REAL good back then, much better than we are now

 

no offense, i hope DC represents our district well at state but DC is not as good now as they were early this decade (and that was even a homegrown team)

 

it seems that everyone glorifies the here and now and quickly forgets the past

Your annoying and often uneducated posts about Dyer County are getting really old.

CJ is a better player than his brother. He may not be able to shoot as well, but with Jon Morris, Cyrus, Brian, and Perry (Not Jerry), he wouldn't have too. While Perry Powell was IMO the best, I think that John and Fred have the potential of being two of the greatest.

Saturday night at CPA with Giles County down by 30 points. CPA drives the court , shoots and makes a three pointer with 2 seconds left. No effort at all to hold it and no pressure defense.

The Joe Jackson show finished off Memphis Central last night...... This is what sets Joe Jackson apart, the basketball court belongs to him, and he feels that you can't stop him. You have a lot of good basketball players, but some just don't have the heart this kid has. He is the best guard in the state by far.

I totally agree. I have never seen such a young, dominant guard in my life. You will be hearing his name on ESPN one of these days.
