  1. OMG YAIDAD , that would be like saying, "How many Fentress Co. kids go to YAI?"  Monterey has NEVER got the Cream of the Crop from Algood or anywhere else in Putnam.   Only when we became Legit in Sports the last 10 years has this ever been in Question.  Like I said before, It has NEVER been questioned  who came to play at Monterey until they became Legit and not the Laughingstock of the District and Area when we were non-competitive.

  2. So, I even bring out this Scenario..let me say first, I mean no disrespect to RBS or M Co...But would'nt it be more competitive if RBS Just dropped their Football team and Co-op'd with Macon Co.?  They (MC) could get seven or eight athletes off RBS Football Team and not have to count them on student enrollment for Classification...   Im saying this in regards to York and Clarkrange. .Heck, they might as well just cut RBS basketball too and Co-op with Macon.   Macon Co would love to have those athletes on the Boys and Girls teams.  Heck, Pickett needs to drop football and Co-op with York and LA.  In my opinion, that is Cheating or Needed Rules Changed if you Co-Op with a school and dont count their total student enrollment toward Classification.

  3. Good Research.  But the question still remains, does YAI have to count Clarkrange's Enrollment? And, since YAI is fully state-funded supposedly, wouldnt it be fair to say for Monterey to Co-op with Clarkrange in Football?   Those kids that live on Hwy 62 and Martha Washington are a whole lot closer to Monterey than Jamestown.  I'm not sure if any plays in those areas or not.   But lets say they do, Why cant they go play on Monterey Football and not have to  be counted on Student Enrollment?   Believe me, Monterey would love to have Them on the Team!

  4. So, are you saying those athletes from Clarkrange doesnt make a difference on YAI football?  The Overton KIds do have a State Agreement with Putnam to allow them to go to Monterey and our factored in number wise to Student Enrollment.  So my question is,  does YAI have to count Clarkrange's ennrollment when they Co-op to allow Football players to play on YAI's team?  IF so, Shouldnt they be 4A and playing LA, Stone, Dekalb?

  5. Ok. I agree the "little" Monterey talk is a bit exaggerated on my part.  But since we are on the topic of 'numbers.... I cant get a players number correct (Monette) and I Dont know Attendance numbers (Monterey 427).  Lets have Class Boys.   We can say Monterey's student enrollment  has increased significantly the last 10-15 years with the Influx to Perdue.   They are Great Students, Very well-mannered, but very few play Sports compared to the rest of the student-age residents in Monterey and Southern Overton County.   So, with students that will actually play sports, we are still the ratio with Clarkrange, Pickett, Clay.   But YorkDad, you wanted to add Football into this Conversation,  How do you justify adding kids onto York's Team from Clarkrange without Increasing the Enrollment Totals?   Monterey would love to add 8-10 Athletes every year from another school that doesnt have Football!  If York added Clarkrange's Enrollment to their total (since you get those athletes) you should be a 3A school or possibly 4A in football.  We are on to you about this honeyhole of Athletes you get from South Fentress without proper calculations by TSSAA YorkDad and watching very closely.

  6. Ask the REFS which side of FANS they felt threatened by.   Anyway, Monterey  had a 28 point lead when they called it.  The GAME was practically OVER.  It probably saved a RUNNING clock in the 4th Quarter.  Thats what happened Panther14.  Clarkrange was getting whipped by little Monterey.  Number 3 was on a College Level playing against three defenders the WHOLE game.

  7. That was a LLLLooooonnnnggggg trip up there, but so bitter sweet on the bus ride back.   After a 5 minute nap, you wake up and remember what you just accomplished....You're in a daze....One of the biggest wins in Monterey History.  In all honesty, we were probably better last year than this year,  the hunger after that defeat was still bitter in Monterey's mouth for one whole year.   Let me tell you about Monterey's boys,  just a bunch of Small-town kids who would go through a wall for their Coach.   HE believes in them!  Watch out Jamestown/Fentress County little ole Monterey is Coming for you,  that loss 7 or 8 weeks ago is still bitter too.

I don't think so. Wildcats have a solid 2a team that could go far. But far to many weapons for UHS. I say score in the 42-7 and at best 42-14 type game. No slight against the wildcats.

Id say 14-7 at the half,    28-7 End...  But, I was there for the Jamboree... Monterey Youth > Baxter Youth.   Baxter will have to get help from Cookeville to Compete, and I think that Gravy Train stops for Baxter now that Cookeville has a young and upcoming Coach.

  9. Trivia Question for the Day... When was the LAST TIME Clarkrange didnt make the Region Tournament?   Monterey has only beaten them one time since the 1970's (2002) and I know they went to or won the Region that year, LOL  Ive watched this District since Rickman was a part (Still Should Be!) of it.  They closed in 1985,  Clarkrange has been a Powerhouse ever since!

At least they didnt throw out a kid for an inadvertent trip like they did to Randolph of Monterey.   Unbelievable call in such a high-stakes game.  It occurred in the first 6 minutes of the game and doomed Monterey from the beginning.   That ref should never call a game again.

    16 minutes correction

If you go back and Read my posts  from last year. I said he was the best player in Class A then as a sophomore.  This should have been Back to Back State Championships for Clay. They lost a very good post player to graduation. Last years team was as good or better.

Monterey beat them last year in the Region Championship on a Neutral Floor.  Clay and Pickett had such  advantages this year with Home-Court in District and Region Trmt.   Although, I like the Idea of Home-Court, it makes the Regular Season games mean something.

  12. Fact Check:  Pickett County has too many coaches on the sidelines, I'm sure J. Amonett and his brother know more than you.  If I'd been him, I wouldve told about four of you to go sit down and let me coach.  Watch the Video again you wannabe.
