  1. the only for sure thing in the first round is that Upperman will advance. i see york beating dekalb by 12 or more, cannon beating smith by 6 or more, and jackson beating livinston by 4. this will be a great tourny!!!!!! i can't wait to watch sat.
  2. hey give cannon credit. they played well. york didn't play stephens becuase of injury, but don't think it would really matter. this shows how balanced this district is this year. i can't wait til tourny. its anyones to take 1-7.
  3. so lance, what did you do to your knee? if it wasn't acl or mcl tears as everyone seemed to believe, what then? but glad your healthy.
  4. i thought he had an bad acl injury and was out for the year. its great for upperman if he is back. to get the best player back on the best team makes our district stronger. if and when healthy, they could make a long run in the postseason. i just find it hard to believe that he tore his acl and recovered that quickly. my advice to lance, if your not 100% its not worth it. if there is a chance you will play again this year, it should be postseason tournys, not now. my next question. how are they going to keep everyone happy on that team? there is not enough balls to go around for all of them to be happy!!
  5. i agree with sleeper. a good AA team should beat a great A team. yes there will be some games that you tend to lose, but 9 out of 10 chance that you should win. there is no way that york could be better than last year. losing tate was huge!!!! lefew was always a threat. cravens pt guard play was soild. the only problem they had was that they hated each other and it showed on the court. who is starting for york this year. i know ledbetter, stephens but who else? who is playing well for york?
  6. it really hurts when you lose a star player like that, but to have 2 wow. sorry to hear about those two guys. our district got weaker with them out. lance most likely mvp cailber player, clinton shooter and great defender. stay strong
  7. there is no way anyone touches upperman this year. they have it all!!!! when do they get their injured players back? this could affect the polls. after upperman, it's anyones ballgame. i would say: LA, YORK, Cannon, Smith, Jackson, and Dekalb. ledbetter mvp, with reeder a close second. upperman has too many weapons to have the mvp. each night it could be someone different. mathis would be the choice. overrated? York, right now i see them as a two many team: ledbetter and stephens. X'S and O's struggle also here coach? thats tough. i give the nod to L.A.
  8. i have seen alot of basketball over time and i agree with some of your statements. the asberry kid would have to be the best because of his surrounding players are better than most. this gives him more chances of doing something great. cates is a close second. he need a little more consistent shot. i don't consider stephens a point guard, but more a shooting guard. as for dekalb, he would be towards the bottom until they start competing in the district. Not sure what smith, jackson, or cannon has at point; they all lost them to graduation: sleeper, lienburg and jones. i am sure they have fine replacements, they always do. my take: the overall pt-guard play is not that great in this district. it does have several excellent playes at the other positions.
  9. he has been the most steady player game in game out. look at each game these people have played, who has been more consistent. to me it is meadows. tate would be my second choice. so what he missed games with injury. his past years show he get the respect he deserves. i don't see ledbetter or mathis in the top 3. 1. meadows. 2 tate. 3 sleeper. after that who knows. i hope the coaches look at more than points. a players role for the "team" should be also looked at. suspensions should play a role. it should be a great tourny and can't wait to see the all district. Meadows MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. i think out of all these picks, the answer has the closest and most unbias of the bunch. come on the one that give dekalb and cannon nothing. they have players. mvp could be a close race. i think it is meadows hand down. who is coach of the year??
  11. yeah gurley is a great player, but where was he in the last couple of game. a "mvp" will show leadership and does everything. whatever happen was a check in his favor. points is not the only stat to look at. there are other aspects of a persons game to look at when dealing for mvp. should tate get punished for his injury? no, Tate will be the best player in the district when it is over, but right now i still say it is hard not to say Meadows. who knows someone else may be mvp. remember it is just a game and awards will come: just play and it will take care of itself !!!!
  12. i disagree with the mvp should come from a first place team. i saw la and smith tonight and la is in first place right. well as you may know the better half of their team was heering from the stands. that tells me they don't need those players as they keep winning. the cates kid will be spectacular when he is a senior. wow he can play. i give him the mvp of that team. as for smith, sleeper is all they got. the big kids get trash buckets from sleeper. it is hard for meadows not to get it. why punish a kid if he team does not win. they play close games but have come up short in them. york will have the mvp when it is over most likely with Tate. but after the egg they laid vs picket. wom upperman played well against dekalb. who knows who is going to step up in their lineup. cannon did not play, but they hace some guys that need to be aware of. Dekalb's team has taken a different shape since the coaching change. it will be interesting to see how the year finishes out.
  13. this should be a great topic to talk about. lets see now: who's mvp? who is top ten in order. i feel: mvp would be meadows from jackson 1. sleeper from smith, 2. mathis from upperman, 3. gurley from la 4. stephens from york 5. d. jones from cannon. here would be my first team right now. welcome back tate and shanks to your lineup this week. tate at the end you will be on this list. keep up the excitement this has been a great year. so far
  14. this game has lots of questions? will open eyes.
  15. hey cardinal, i am simply tring to see what others think of our refs. yeah we have pretty good ones, but to me some have something against the teams they ref in. yeah the perfect comment, "the refs don't shoot, rebound or play defense" works every time. i saw once where a coach had his player guard a ref because he felt like he was hurtting them more than the other team. that was funny
