  1. Hello All - Still hoping to hear back from anyone in the Chattanooga area about a 16-under team looking for a big man. If anyone has any info, please email me. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks to everyone who has viewed this post. I have received one email from someone near Murfreesboro that has some Chattanooga players and I am still hoping to hear from some others. Thanks again! Coach Harwood
  3. A sophomore center from Lookout Valley High School who started last year for the Yellow Jackets is deperately looking for a 16-under AAU team to play with in or near Chattanooga. He is a great kid, about 6-3/6-4, great rebounder, shot blocker, and plays hard and wants to improve each day. If anyone has any info on a team please contact Coach Harwood at bsktballcoach@aol.com. Thanks!
  4. Does anyone have a confirmation of this? And if this is true, anyone have any idea why? Doug has always done a great job with the program and Sale Creek will definitely miss him whether they realize it now or later.
  5. First of all guys - if a kid is on the bench he is there for a reason. He may be a great player, but who knows maybe his attitude is getting in the way, maybe he is not a "coachable" kid, or maybe something else is going on. I don't think a coach is going to leave talent just sitting on the bench if none of the things above are happening - coaches want to win too! I do agree that there are kids sitting benches that bystanders think should be playing more, and that will always be the case, but newsflash - the coaches make those decisions not the parents or the people buying the tickets! The thread should not read "who are the best kids in state without PT" - it should read "who are the kids not getting PT who can work a little harder in some area of basketball in order to get that PT". If anyone has a problem with that one just start a thread to Valleyman and we'll go from there. Thank you.
  6. Kevin Morgan from Lookout Valley is definitely one of the most underrated seniors in Tennessee. This is a kid who has come along way with his skills and has done nothing but get better. He is averaging a double-double playing the post. He plays hard all of the time and has a great attitude. Keep up the hard work Kevin!
  7. I played against his older brother, Tommy, when he was also at Notre Dame high school in Chattanooga and I've also seen Tony play too. They are definitely cut from the same cloth and Tony will probably end up like his brother - play at little juco ball and then go get a job like everyone else. Tommy was the leading scorer in the Chattanooga area and averaged something like 30 points per game over his entire 4-year career, but his size AND attitude landed him at Hiawasee JC. Tony's in the same boat, but his size, overall skills, and attitude will give him trouble down the line.
  8. Lookout Valley SHOULD win this one - that is if the "team" that has been playing shows up or the "individuals" that have seemed to show up lately. Just an opinion, but what do I know? And yes, this district contest will be rescheduled guys.
  9. I've seen women who have "tried" to coach guys and it does not work. Too many things that get in the way. For sure. End of conversation.
  10. Very good game on this one. Temple should take this one in a close one. Temple matches up really well with Boyd, whereas Boyd will have a tough matchup with the Skogen kid. It should be one of the better games of the year though with Boyd and Temple playing pretty good right now.
  11. First of all, Lance is as good a kid as he is an athlete. I saw alot of him during his freshman year and he really hasn't had the opportunities to develop into the "basketball player" he can be. This kid can play D1, but because of they team he is on and the way they play he might not get a good look. He's a little under-weight, but he can run and jump like a deer. He's one of the best natural shot-blockers I've ever seen. His outside shot has greatly improved and just needs more work on his overall guard play. Take note though - someone out there is going to get a great kid that will develop more in college than he has in four years of high school. Bet on that!
  12. Anyone got any info about Moore County's boys team? Player info, tendencies, style of play, and strengths or weaknesses?
  13. Does anyone have any info on Harriman? Players, tendencies, style of play, etc...?
