Thanks, PHargis. I'll put some numbers up in the "Game Info and Results" sub-forum later today for all of Page's matches in the State Tournament. The wins over Red Bank and Goodpasture along with the opening match against South Greene will be shown as separate entries. Beating Red Bank twice was certainly a great accomplishment as they defended their title well this season. Goodpasture will certainly be back next year as they will return all their players as their current team roster shows no Seniors. Although Page will lose 3 players to graduation, there are others who will step up to fill the void. MVP Molly Locke will return for her Senior year and Middle Maggie Allen and RS Jessie Sokol will only be Juniors next season. Other Seniors for next season are Kayla Townsend, Scarlet Sanders, Paige O'Neill, and Brady Wade. It will be another team effort by Page as Coaches Jess Enderle, Amy McNeil and Kate Walker know how to get the best out of their players.
-
Summertown's coach is Steve Keeton not Steve Kirk. I have known him for years and he will get the best out of his players with his intense style of coaching.

As far as the number of officials required: In district matches, there are supposed to be two, but I know of at least three occasions where only one was present - explanation - "we don't have enough officials to cover all the matches in the area". During non-district matches and weekend tournaments only one can be used, but some championship matches will have two - it depends on the team hosting the tournament. In regional and sectional matches we had four, but some of the linesmen were unknown to me and were out of position at times and missed tip calls. It appears to me that these unknown officials are new and lack experience. Every sport I've covered over the years has good and bad officials. A team has to make the best of what they get and hope that a bad call doesn't cost them a match.
-
Just a few quick notes: Ravenwood's 6' 5" Middle Madelyn Hutson has committed to the University of Texas - not Tennessee. Page's correct record is 43-13 not 45-12. The TSSAA had it wrong as well and has been since corrected.
-
The Page Head Coach is Jess Enderle. Assistant Coaches are Amy McNeil and Kate Walker.

Ok, I started watching VB in 2002, but only kept decent stats starting in 2006. P4K, you're just a youngster compared to me. I'll be 59 the first day of the State Tournament, Oct. 28. Retirement from vb looms in 2011

Better late than never, docterno. I'm sure the players enjoy seeing their names on coacht. I was also glad to see that Coach Kerry Risley was named Coach of the Year. I talked with him recently at the Mid TN Classic and he accused me to being with Page athletics for 25 years, but I told him it has been more like 10 with baseball, boys and girls basketball, and now volleyball since 2006. Congratulations to him and all the players of District 10-AA.

Thanks, clifford20, I will see if I can find anything in "The Tennessean" when I finish my spreadsheets for Page. I will post Page's results later tonight.

Thanks, canstandtheheat, and welcome to the coacht Volleyball Message Board. I checked the link and it has all the info about pools and brackets that I received recently. Although it states that it is revised, it appesrs to have what I have. I will be checking that site late Friday night for scores I have missed. I will still be calling coacht during the night to give live updates when I can. Thanks again.

If there are any questions about schedules or other things, I will answer the best I can.
I hope everyone will help me gather scores as I will be busy doing Page's stats. I will try to gather as many scores as I can, but with 12 courts in operation, it will be tough. Tnanks for your help in advance.

The Page Lady Patriots made the two hour drive to Chattanooga on Sat., Oct. 2 and came out victorious against both Boyd Buchanan (25-20, 25-22, 15-25, 25-21) and Red Bank (25-14, 25-20, 25-15). Page had previously beaten these teams in the TN Tandem. Boyd Buchanan is the defending Class A Champion and Red Bank is the defending Class AA Champion. Both teams have lost several players to graduation, but they are still formidable opponents. There was a match scheduled between Boyd and Red Bank at 1 PM, but it had to be cancelled due to schedule problem where the 35 match limit would have been exceeded by one of the teams.
In the Boyd Buchanan match, Page was led by Molly Locke who had 14 Kills, 1 Block, 1 Ace, 2 Assists, and 10 Digs. Maggie Allen contribute well with 11 Kills, 2 Aces, and 1 Dig. Kelly Mills had 6 Kills, 1 Ace, 2 Assists, and 6 Digs. Jessie Sokol had 6 Kills, 1 Block, 1 Assist and 1 Dig. Tayler McGuire had 41 Assists to go along with 4 Kills, 1 Ace, and 8 Digs. Kayla Townsend had 3 Kills and 2 Blocks and Paige O'Neill had 3 Kills, 1 Block, and 1 Ace. Page had 7 players with kills and 8 players with aces. Boyd Buchanan was led by #6 with a match leading kill count of 25 with 1 Ace, #10 had 9 Kills and 3 Aces, #11 had 9 Kills and 4 Aces, #8 had 9 Aces with 2 Assists and Setter #4 had 39 Assists. Sorry that I didn't get their names.
In the Red Bank match, Page was led by both Molly Locke and Maggie Allen with 12 points each followed closely by Kelly Mills with 11 Pts. Setter Tayler McGuire had 29 Assists along with 1 Kill and 1 Block. Jessie Sokol had 3 Kills, Brady wade served 3 Aces, and Kayla Townsend had 2 Kills and 1 Block. Red Bank also had dual leaders in stats as Kayln Helton had 7 Kills and Shelby Hayes had 5 Kills, 1 Block and 1 Ace. Savannah Nelson had 4 Kills and 2 Blocks, and Setters Amy Metcalf and 8 Assists with 2 Kills and 2 Aces and Abby Graham had 10 Assists with 1 Kill. Red Bank had 7 players with kills.
It was a good day for the Lady Patriots so it made the trip back to Rudderville not so hard to take.

Tie-breaking rules can be interesting. In some cases, the district coaches will look at overall records. I guess you would look at win % since the total matches can vary depending on how many weekend tournaments you play. Ladies and gentlemen, start your calculators.

Well, Edge, I didn't watch the AAA much since I was concerned with AA. I certainly will not get into whether a coach was bad or not. Sometimes coaches do things that the fans don't understand. There are several factors involving rotation and substitution that we fans don't have the inside information to understand why a coach does certain things during a match.
