  1. The game is on as far as I know. Roads OK here. Lewis is playin great with a 9 game winning streak that started against Page when Page played there. All good things come to an end though as Page will be tough to beat at home. Expect a large crowd of Patriot supporters. Bring on the Panthers. Meow. PageMan
  2. Loretto 68, Fairview 58 See description of game at "Will Loretto beat Fairview and stop the losing streak?" [Edited by PageMan on 2-7-03 10:14A]
  3. Thanks to all the Loretto people making the trip. Loretto played well, especially in the 4th qtr. where they outscored Fairview 28 to 9. They hit 14 of 15 FT's in the 4th qtr. to ice Fairview. Loretto 68 : Luke Lamm 19, Casteel 16, Kilburn 16, Earnest 9, Kendrick 4, Ashworth 2, Giles 2 Fairview 58 : Wilshire 22, Hall 14, Boozer 8, Osborne 7, Kennedy 4, Bratcher 2, King 1 3-pt goals: Loretto 4 (Kilburn 2, L.Lamm, Casteel) Fairview 6 (Hall 4, Wilshire 2) FT's: Loretto 16 of 20 (80.0%) Fairview 7 of 12 (58.3&) Loretto's Luke Lamm had a good inside game and guards Casteel & Kilburn were perfect from the line (10 of 10) in the 4th qtr. Fairview's Wilshire played well, but did not get any help from Bratcher who only scored 2. Hall hit some good three's, but did not score in the 2nd half. Loretto's Earnest returned to action playing well inside, but he did pick up 4 2nd half fouls. I think Loretto can win more games if they can get three players in double figures and keep up that excellent FT shooting. PageMan
  4. Loretto won the game on good inside play by Jana Cross (20 pts.) and by hitting 30 of 47 FT's. Since Fairview do not report the game to "The Tennessean", I'll give you a brief rundown of the scoring. Loretto 61 : Cross 20, Birdyshaw 15, Lindsey 9, Hannah 7, Stone 5, Andrews 3, M.Green 2 Fairview 56 : Boaz 15, Bledsoe 11, King 9, Brison 9, Hufstedler 5, Kennedy 3, Hutchinson 2, Andrea Mangrum 2 Fairview's three point barrage (Boaz 3, Bledsoe, Kennedy, King) was not enough to overcome the early lead built by Loretto on their three-point shooting in the 1st qtr. by Hannah, Stone, & Lindsey. This 20-11 lead stood up as Fairview never led. The good inside play & rebounding by Loretto's Cross was a key factor, but the 4th qtr. FT's by Loretto (15 of 27) sealed the win. There were 49 total fouls & 63 FT attempts. Fairview's Bledsoe had sort of an off night with only 11 pts as some of her spin-move & running jump shots did not fall. Boaz had a good night with 3 three's - very good quick release shot. King almost had a five-pt. play as she was fouled after hitting a three, but missed the 2nd FT. I believe this cut Loretto's lead to three pts. Coach Bledsoe was called for a technical in the closing seconds after an out-of-bounds play went against Fairview. Loretto's Birdshaw hit the two FT's to seal the win for Loretto. If Fairview could have scored after Loretto missed their FT's in the 4th. qtr., it could have been a different story. I think Fairview will regroup by tournament time and be a strong contender. PageMan [Edited by PageMan on 2-7-03 9:39A]
  5. Maybe if Loretto can stop #23 Bratcher & #24 Wilshire they can win. I think it might boil down to who hits their three's. Loretto's #14 Kilburn & #3 Casteel may hold the key. Or may someone on the inside for either team could be the detemining factor. One note on weather - presently at 3:09 in Bethesda, the rain is now mixed with snow and the temp is dropping. Everyone going to the game drive carefully and don't make any quick moves on the road leaving Fairview after the game. PageMan.
  6. Thanks to everyone who replied. I have had a hard time getting a message back because coacht server slow. I predict the team who hits the most FT's will win. Loretto hit 75.0% against Page & Fairview hit 83.3%. Or will it be the 3-pt shooting of Fairview that wins out. Story at 6 - Fairview gym. I'll be there with clipboard in hand to track the action.
  7. I know that schools are closed, but is the game still on? Its a long way from Loretto to Fairview and roads may be iffy. Looks like light snow changing to rain this afternoon with temps falling later tonight. If anyone knows the status of this game, please post a message. Thanks.
  8. That's OK, everybody makes mistakes. There several scores on coacht scoreboards & schedules that are close, but not quite right. As long as the win or loss is correct, I guess that's all that really matters unless you're trying to figure a points per game average. Thanks for replying.
  9. Well it depends on which Page teams shows up. If Page can stop the 3-pt. shooting of Jon Lavette, Johnny Mendez, & others and stop inside play of Luke Crufman and Jeff Sparkman, it could be close. If Page's 3-pt game is working and inside play good, then things could be interesting. Home court advantage to Page will be a factor.
  10. Loretto at Fairview will be Thurday 2-6-03 at 6:00 This is the rescheduled date for the game origially set as 1-24-03 that was postponed because of weather. This is a critical game for both teams in 9-AA district play It should be a great game to watch.
  11. Another keying error by coacht staff I guess.
  12. The score of Fairview @ Lewis Co. was 76-58 Lewis Co. according to the Tennessean website not 79-55 as reported by DirtyDee. I don't know if this can be corrected by anyone but coacht. Please enter the correct score if possible. Thanks. PageMan
  13. The 9-AA distict tournament is at Lewis Co. The regional tournament is at Giles Co. I saw where Lewis Co. upset Fairview 48-41 tonight. I bet it was a good game. Page girls defeated Ravenwood 57-20 Page boys defeated Ravenwood 58-49 Lawrence Co. girls defeated Giles Co. 41-34 Giles Co. boys defeated Lawrence Co. 75-42 No report on Marshall Co. games I'll be at the Loretto/Fairview game Thursday - This will be another good game to watch. 14. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Sycamore probably does stink, but Fairview is pretty good. Anybody with a serious answer?
  15. Anybody know the score? This game was moved up to last night from 2-6 so that Loretto could make up their game that was postponed. jacketpride24, could you give me the score? Thanks.
  16. I agree. Lewis Co. girls have lost some close games this year. With Mallory Clayton back, they seem to be playing better. Nicole Duncan has shown improvement in her play as well. Britni Tenison is unstoppable and Delicia Brugmann plays well also. Casey Anderson has a good 3-pt shot along with Allyson Brewer. Beth Bradley is a good defensive player, but still needs improvement in her shooting. I am looking forward to their game at Page on Friday. Good luck to Lewis Co. against Fairview tonight. [Edited by PageMan on 2-4-03 7:09A]
  17. Thanks score3. This should be a close game. I hope everyone knows this rescheduled date.
  18. According to Loretto people, this game is Thursday 2-6 On the CoachT schedule, it shows Fairview at Sycamore on this date. Also CoachT schedule shows Loretto at Fairview on Saturday 2-15 which also has a Houston Co. game scheduled. Will somebody please tell me when this game between Loretto and Fairview will take place?
  19. Thanks, TLAH. I knew someone from Hohenwald would know. Looking forward to the district tournament there at end of Feb. I'll be at all the games keeping up with the scoring.
  20. Anybody know the score of Lewis Co. girls at Creek Wood?
  21. Thanks yahoo3 for posting the score. Now here's the rest of the story. Page led the whole game, I believe, and was ahead by 20 pts. at one time. It became a free throw shooting contest as the officials called a total of 48 fouls which led to 65 FT's. Page hit 26 of 37 (70.3%) and Loretto hit 21 of 28 (75.0%). This is way too much time at the foul stripe instead of playing the game. These zebras from Foot Locker need to put their whistles in their pockets. Too many touch, or in some cases, non-touch fouls. For you Lady Patriot fans, and you know who you are, read the complete story in "The Patriot Report" next week as we face Ravenwood on Tuesday. Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow. PageMan
  22. Page's Nicole Bagsby averaging 12 pts., 6 rebs., & 1 assist. She has a good inside game and is developing a good midrange shot. Page's Alison Harmon aver. 7 pts. & 4 rebs. Occasionally starts, but mostly comes in to relieve Bagsby. She will probably be a starter her junior year.
  23. Thanks setha321. Just curious how someone from Brentwood would know about a game in Hohenwald, I'll believe you though. PageMan
  24. Thanks for your honesty gilessf. Good luck agsinst Lincoln Co. tonight. I would like to see Giles play again, but I guess I'm going to Hohenwald tonight to watch Lewis & Marshall play. Your team really stopped our girls on the inside when we played. Robin Leslie is a great player on both defense and offense - maybe we'll come up with some secret offensive plays to beat her, but I don't know. See you at Giles in Feb. PageMan
  25. Thanks tiredbbmom - your info helps me get my scoresheet more accurate. I did not know about the loss of Birdyshaw and Earnest. I publish a game report for the parents of Page follwing each game and a try to be as accurate as possible with rosters and names of players. I get my rosters from the Tennessean and sometimes they are inaccurate. Thanks again. See you at Page on Friday
