  1. Thanks, VBCoach15. I'll start rolling up my pennies as I'm a man of means by no means.
  2. Here is what I received from Tom Kreager and Larry Taft this afternoon: West A-AA: Coaches: Mindy Stone - Page, Tommy Danner - Evangelical Christian Aynne Swindell - MH - Evangelical Christian Andrea Townsend - RS - Page Amber Turner - S - Bartlett Emily Lancaster - OH - DCA Shelbi Turner - MH - DCA Jessica Williamson - MH - Goodpasture Christa Hutchison - OH/S - Trinity Christian East A-AA Coaches: Renee Dorris - Greenbrier, Dennis Ray - Webb Sara Fowler - S - Greenbrier Emily Hayes - RS - Greenbrier Katie Clinard - MH - Greenbrier Lindsey Bibee - OH - Baylor Jessica Lane - MH - Knoxville Catholic Becca Forbes - OH - Knoxville Catholic Daisha Goff - S - East Ridge Brittany Preston - RS - Webb West AAA Coaches: Barbara Campbell and Shawn Robinson - Brentwood Halley Wiggins - S - Franklin Stephanie Sarago - Libero - Ravenwood Deedee Harrison - MH - Hillsboro Becca Brewster - MH - Brentwood Jennifer Maher - MH - Brentwood Frances Ferree - OH - Brentwood Marie Mullins - S - Father Ryan Adair Hewett - OH - Centennial Brittany Schroeder - MH - Centennial East AAA Coach Elaine Peigon - Ooltewah Gretchen Higdon - S - Ooltewah Courtney Cotter - OH - Ooltewah Ellee Agee - MH - Cookeville Diana Deer - Libera - Farragut Stephanie Harville - S - Morristown East Amanda Mitchell - RS - Farragut Keep in mind that rosters are subject to change.
  3. I plan on attending the TACA All-Star matches at Centennial as well. I'll see if I can find some rosters, timbdp. I do know that Page's Andrea Townsend will be participating in the A-AA match at 4 PM. Dre' will be playing for Bethel College in the coming season. Does anyone know what the price of admission is? PS - I emailed Larry Taft, who is the media relations for TACA, asking about a roster. I also think that Becca Brewster of Brentwood is participating in the AAA match.
  4. I have amended post #23 to show half time scores, Redog. CPA was 3rd best at the half. See amended post for other details.
  5. Ok, Redog. Here is what I have on my scoresheets since the Region 5-AA Q-F where CPA did tie Marshall with 11 pts in the 1st qtr and only trailed by 7 at the half, 24-17. Region 5-AA S-F: Marshall Co. 58, East Literature 30 - 1st qtr: Marshall 15-7 At the half: Marshall 30-15. Region 5-AA Final: Marshall Co. 49, Hickman Co. 29 - 1st qtr: Marshall 16-4 At the half: Marshall 23-8. Sectional: Marshall Co. 62, Bolivar Central 41 - 1st qtr: Marshall 18-10 At the half: Marshall 32-22. State Q-F: Marshall Co. 74, Gibson Co. 45 - 1st qtr: Marshall 23-8 At the half: Marshall 42-15. State S-F: Marshall Co. 45, McMinn Central 43 - 1st qtr: Marshall 14-7 At the half: Marshall 27-23. State Final: Marshall Co. 44, Milan 35 - 1st qtr: Marshall 7-6 At the half: Marshall 19-18. So you are correct that CPA played the closest 1st qtr against Marshall Co. during their run from the Regionals to the State Finals. I hope I understood your queston correctly. I have amended this post to show the half time scores. CPA was third best. If CPA could have scored more points in the 3rd qtr and had a few less turnovers, it would have made for a very interesting 4th qtr, but they only had 4 pts. to Marshall's 15 and by the end of the 3rd qtr turnovers were Marshall 10, CPA 21. That's as far as I'm going to go with this.
  6. Thanks, Sharpshooter, I have tried to be accurate in my reports, but I know I missed some things in every game. My reports do not include "Dead Ball Rebounds" where a team gets a rebound on a missed foul shot when shooting two FT's and where the ball goes out of bounds under the goal and no individual actually controls the ball. Computer scoring programs require a rebound on any missed FT or shot, which in my opinion, slighty inflates the number of rebounds for a team. Scoring of assists can also be subjective so my assists may not match "official" assists. I am sorry that I had to miss this championship game as I twisted my knee as I slipped on my snow-covered steps after retuning home after the semi-final games. When I got up the next day, I could hardly walk and I knew that I would be unable to climb the steps in front of the Murphy Center. I watched the games on TV instead, but it's not like being there in person. I hope that I will be back for next year's season, but there are several factors that may keep me from doing so. I will not be doing baseball at all this coming season as I must return to NC to be with my mother who is 93 and did not know who I was during my Christmas visit. I feel that I must spend time with her. Good bye for now and thanks to all the people who have helped me this season.

I have chosen not to show their "team" rebounds as a player did not actually get a rebound. There is an excellent play-by-play in the above link to show scoring by qtr. Congratulations to the Lewisburg Tigerettes in their great win. Hope to see you next season. Marshall has three seniors: Jessica McQueen, McKenna Moffett, and Danika Hopkins and I have enjoyed watching you play over your career. Good luck down the road.
  8. Here are the official stats from the TSSAA: http://www.tssaa.org/2007Champions/StateGB...assAA/game6.htm Here is what I saw from my lofty perch on the far side of the court. In the 2nd qtr, McM outscored MC, 16-13, as Labert had 10 (1 three, 1 of 1 FT's), Davis had 4, and Simbeck had 2 while MC's March had 7 (1 of 2 FT's), McLean had 4, and McQueen hit 2 of 3 FT's as MC led at the half, 27-23. In the 3rd qtr, McM outscored MC, 10-6, as Lee had 4 and Jordan, Purkey, and Simbeck each had 2 while MC's March scored all 6 pts (2 of 2 FT's) as the game was tied after 3 qtrs, 33-33. In the 4th qtr, MC outscored McM, 12-10, as March hit 5 of 8 FT's, McQueen had 4 (1 three, 1 of 2 FT's), McLean had 2 (0 of 1 FT's), and Hopkins hit 1 of 2 FT's while McM's Lambert and Lee each had 4 and McNutt had 2 as Marshall Co. held on for the win at 45-43. Marshall advances to the Championship on Sat. at 5 PM against Milan who defeated Upperman earlier.
  9. I agree, GCPioneer, that the fouls on Pate and Griffen in the 1st half were just touch fouls from my view high in the stands.
  10. Yes, beavo5, Gibson was down by 34-57 after 3 qtrs (23 pts) so their fouling in the 4th qtr was a hope that Marshall would miss at the line. Marshall hit 11 of 16 (68.8%) however to remain in control down the stretch
  11. Marshall Co. Radio Stations WJJM and WAXO will be carrying tonight's game of Marshall vs McMinn Central I'm sure. They both have internet feeds at www.waxo.com.
  12. The foul situation was fairly close in the 1st half as Marshall had 3 to Gibson's 7, but Gibson's #54 Heather Griffen had 2 and #55 Jenilee Pate had 4. Pate fouled out in the 3rd qtr, I believe. Griffen stepped up her play with 6 pts in the 3rd and 8 pts in the 4th, but it was not quite enough to overcome the 27 pt half time lead by Marshall. In the 4th qtr, Marshall shot 11 of 16 from the line as Gibson was forced to foul. Marshall has shot fairly well all season as March takes some pretty high percentage shots underneath and three point shooters McQueen and Moffett are also accurate. Marshall is very well rounded with Danika Hopkins and Jakerra Simmons also adding points when needed.
  13. I will show my stats, but the more accurate stats are at the TSSAA web site: http://www.tssaa.org/2007Champions/StateGB...assAA/game4.htm Marshall Co......23..19....15..17.....74 Gibson Co.........8....7.....19..11.....45 Marshall Co. 14. The "what ever you got at Marshall Co." is David Steely, Co-Coach of the Year in District 10-AA along with Lewis Co.'s Larry Helton. Marshall's Assistant Coach is Boyd West who was an assistant at Shelbyville for several years before coming to Marshall. Having seen Marshall Co. play in eight games this season, they have played under par in some games and still won by 20 pts. It's not so much their potent offense that an opponent has to worry about, it's their defense. Every player has an off night every now and then, but Marshall has players that step up and deliever the points or defensive playes to get the win.
  15. The Marshall Co. Tigerettes got off to a good start in the AA Sectional against Bolivar Central as Lauren March had 8 of her 19 pts in the 1st qtr, McKenna Moffett hit 2 of her 4 threes, and Simmons had 4 of her 19 pts enroute to a 62-41 win as they advanced to the State Tournament in Murfreesboro. Bolivar Central was led by Matrekia Minter with 16 pts, Kendra Willaims had 12 that included a three, and Brooke Crisp hit 2 threes. Two keys to the win for Marshall was their rebounding (41) and their assists (13). Bolviar had 24 rebs and 6 assists. Both teams played hard, but in the end, Marshall prevailed. Marshall Co will advance to the State Tournament and their opponent will be determined in a draw to held on Sunday. Bolivar Central played hard and they have a bright future ahead of them. Congratulations to the Tigerettes and good luck at the State.
  16. I was surprised at the rebounding difference, coachrus, as I thought that Z Mason would have an advantage due to his weight over C Holt. Mason has a great shot from almost anywhere on the court and had three blocks by my count, but really should have had more rebounds on the defensive board. I am glad that I got some responses to my post, schrisp5, as normally I get very few. I'm used it by now as at least I get some views. It is a shame that CPA cannot host their sectional and I wish that the TSSAA would consider changing this gym capacity rule. Maybe CPA can remodel their gym to add the 140 seats needed. I am pleased to announce that I got to this stage of adding a reply without getting a single "Run Time" error. Thanks to coacht or iamoz for correcting those errors. Now here comes the hardest test - clicking "Add Reply"

  23. I spent about 30 min entering a post only to lose the entire thing for some unknown reason. I will try again tomorrow morning as it's after midnight now. I want someone to explain why there are so many "Run Time" errors on this site as they are really slowing me down and apparently caused the wrong form to appear as it appeared to be a poll form, maybe, and it did not have a tool bar on it. I am about ready to give up posting here.
  24. Marshall Co. got off to a quick start as they hit 4 threes in the 1st qtr and Lauren March dominated inside with 7 pts (1 three) along with 6 rebs, 3 blks, and 1 asst. Hickman Co. was led by Jaclyn Wise who hit just 1 three in her 13 pts for the night. Marshall's defense was good as Hickman had 21 turnovers. Marshall led at the half, 23-8, which was too much for Hickman to overcome, but Hickman played better in the 2nd half as Marshall only outscored them 26-21. The Cinderella run of East Literature ended, but they played extremely well in the post season with their wins over David Lipscomb, CPA, and Lewis Co. and only lost to Ezell-Harding by 11 in the District 9-AA Tournament Final. I'm sure we'll hear more from them next season.
