I'll add more commentary about the rest of the game tomorrow morning. Ravenwood led at the end of the 1st qtr, 11-10, as Morris scored his only points of the night with 5 (3 of 4 FT's), and Becker, Pease, and Jeffries each had 2 while Page's Bagsby had 4 (2 of 2 FT's), Pitts hit a three, Hastings had 2, and Fly hit 1 of 2 FT's. In the 2nd qtr, Page outscored Ravenwood 17-6 to take the lead at the half, 27-17, as Bagsby had 5 (1 three, 2 of 2 FT's), Finney had 5 (3 of 4 FT's), both Pitts and Canas each hit a three, and Osburn hit 1 of 2 FT's while Ravenwood went cold as Pease hit a three, Fletcher had 2, and Stansfield hit 1 of 2 FT's. In the 3rd qtr, Ravenwood outscored Page 16-11, but lost key player Morris on fouls as he picked up 3 fouls early in the qtr that included a techinal complaining about foul number 4. Ravenwood scoring: Jeffries 5 (1 three), Stansfield 4 (0 of 2 FT's), Fletcher 3 (1 of 2 FT's), Becker 2 (0 of 2 FT's), and Pease 2 (0 of 1 FT's). Ravenwood only hit 1 of 7 FT's for the qtr. Page scoring: Hastings 7 (2 threes, 1 of 2 FT's), Fly 2, and Bagsby 2 (2 of 2 FT's). Page led after 3 qtrs 38-33. The game came down to the 4th qtr as Ravenwood outscored Page 12-8 as Stansfield had 4, Watkins hit a three, Fletcher had 3 (1 of 3 FT's), Becker had 2, and Jeffries missed 2 FT's, but it was not enough as Page's Bagsby had 4 (1 three, 1 of 2 FT's), Finney had 4 (0 of 1 FT's), and both Hastings and Fly missed the front end of 1 and 1 FT attempts. Finney's game-winning shot came with 5.1 seconds on the clock as Page got the win at 46-45. As Ravenwood's last shot at the buzzer was off, Page players and fans stormed the court to celebrate the close win at center court. Ravenwood was waiting to shake hands, but left as the Page celebration continued. This caused some hard feelings between two of the assistant coaches for both teams and the rematch at Page on Jan. 4 will surely be another exciting game to watch.
