  1. i am very happy to know that my thoughts reflect those of the organization of tennessee team pride. i knew they were formely tennessee gold. your organization is a very respected organization in tennessee and i dont want a parent, player, or coach disrupt that. i appreciate the last two replies to my post that means alot. thanks for your input.
  2. it should have been between the tennessee flash and tennessee team pride
  3. this was the 13's this weekend in shelbyville
  4. i was involved in a sub-state basketball game this weekend in shelbyville and i must say that you know as a coach you are not goin to have things go your way all the time be it that your players are not playin well or the officiating may not be up to par, but one thing i must say that really ticks me off. you have a class organization like the tennessee team pride and they are playin the tennessee liberty and a parent tells one of their players to break her darn neck i mean i heard this and as a spectator, coach, and parent that sends chills up and down my spine but that wasnt the over the top event. the same parent gave the point guard for the liberty the finger. i dont really know chris brown but i know that he dont allow this. and in his defense he wasnt there. but the coach for pride never said a word to his parents or made comments to not say those things. that is a definite no no. coaches have to sign a form before games like sub-state and state that says you are responsible for your parents actions. the liberty came out with the victory but the kids lost all respect for that set of parents. it wasnt called for. there is no place for that in todays aau programs. it goes against what it stands for.
  5. i would like to say thank you to the tennessee liberty aau 13 and 14 yr. old girls for workin very hard this weekend. we played in a super regional in murfreesboro and did very well girls just keep workin hard in practice you see that it pays off for you. you were not even supposed to get as far as you did 13's but you put out and i greatly appreciate it. now for my 14's, congratulations on a job well done we have yet a great deal of work to do before nationals. i would like to congratulate amos whitehead and his lady stingers on their first place finish this weekend you deserve it. it was good to see two teams go at it like that. parents of the liberty girls thank you for your continued trust and confidence in me to help your daughter be a better person first then ball player.
  6. mr. showtime you are gettin good facts you must have a good source in town, everybody is wondering who? yea right. now to address who you are goin after is none of my business all i was referring to was kerri, i am not in competition with you or anyone else for that matter. lace them up and lets play its that simple the scoreboard tells all. i respect organizations that do what they do with class, but it seems you are tryin to bring a particular organization down with a little help i may add but you and your sources got it all wrong. its not about me its about the girls and it always will be. now as far as comin 4th in the state thats the way it goes sometimes and i am sure you know the feelin. now not comin out of pool play well you sometimes get bad pools to start but you dont cry you lace them up and play and that is what they did. you get the team from tulsa, the black widows of virginia, and indiana's finest. and they were in every game no blowouts. somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. again you know that losin feelin dont you. i thought so. lets take the indiana's finest they won by 4 and then later they played fencor who won the nationals last year indiana beat them by 9 so you go figure. no slam on anyone but who did cms send to rachel this year? just a thought. i respect the time that kelli puts in but that is all i have to say about that. anybody that knows the game of basketball in or out of Cleveland knows whats up. lets try to keep this between us. let this be our secret. yea right
  7. you know what showtime i dont know you and nor do i care to know you but i know your kind. anyone that would attack a kid and down rate a freshman at any level is kind of immature. as far as you and havin the best kids at the shelbyville sport shop i dont remember seein them at the nationals in dayton ohio last year. or did you even have a 13-under team. just a thought. well it is very evident that you are very high on kelli which is kool but you might want to get to know all the coaches in cleveland before you say what you do. if you ask any of the kids in the area about the different coaches you might not like their answers. so be careful what you ask for. why do we do what we do? for the kids thats who. nothin else noone else. to be honest i dont care what you think about me or anyone in cleveland but i do care about these kids dont mess with the kids.
  8. first of all showtime is speakin of girls either he has or he wants for the Shelbyville sportshop team and kerri simpson was at the 13 - under nationals with the tennessee liberty.
  9. it amazes me on how much people know about a kid whom they have never had in there gym. this young lady is nothin but a class act almost to nice to even be as good as she is. everyone who comes in contact with kerri knows she has a good spirit and has a good attitude. but you wouldnt know that unless she was in your gym on a regular basis. i have had the fine oppurtunity to get to know her and her family and they are considered a part of my family. kerri can shoot from the outside and it will only get better with continued reps. lets remember we are talkin about a freshman. she will get better no doubt about it. so let nature take its course.
  10. i also would like to congratulate the lady stingers and coach whitehead because i am the coach of the tn liberty and your team came to play. you have a good team and i would just like for you to know that from one coach to another. oh and yes we will be at nationals with a chance and hopes of going deep into play. i am from up around that area so give me a holla and i will take you to some nice places there in dayton.
  11. yes i do agree with you barry that it was a good tournament especially the 13 year old division with the tennessee liberty placing in first and the tarheels finishing in second. i would like to thank the coach for his kind words after the game it meant alot. you are a class act tarheels and that means more than winning for these kids.
  12. gottahavheart your're exactly right but why should a young lady who is zoned to attend cleveland high school have to switch schools just so that she can get her props? I know what the coach is thinking she is just a freshman she will play all she needs to in years to come. well let's rewind time back to when holly rogers was a freshman I do believe she started. that's a problem in my book because yes holly is a good ball player, angie has the same qualities if not more because of her tenacious defense. don't confuse shooting the ball 30 times to get 20 points being a tremendous athlete, angie never let's that enter her mind. I think that considering what middle school program that holly, allison, and angie have came from speaks alot for them wanting to play basketball with some special guidance and I for one think that rachel can and I say again can do, being a division one player herself. Make the adjustments and be done with it.
  13. No, I was not one of the adults on the floor - but I do know them, and I understand why they were on the court. The Bradley Bears just won a tremendous game - defeating a good team on their own floor for the fourth time in one season and instead of congratulating their team, the fans chose to antagonize the Cleveland players to the point of initiating a fight. When the Cleveland bench tried to contain their players - no one stepped up to intervene the Bradley fans - not you, not Mr. Taylor nor Mr. Losh, nor the police officers - no one saw the need to get the Bradley fans off the floor - who were in effect messing with a "hornet's nest" - no one but one person, and that was the parent of the Cleveland player. Yes her words were strong and her actions may have been considered irrational- but she did what she felt she had to do in an irrational situation. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Losh and the one police officer only came after the adults entered the floor - and they came to remove her - not to contain the crowd. It was only when she informed them what she was doing that they focused on the Bradly fans - and I am grateful that they (Mr. Taylor and Mr. Losh) did step in at that time.
  14. angie started playing basketball at Arnold Elementary and she then was a tremendous athlete. As far as playing jv that is not where she truly shines, angie deserves and can handle playing in any situation that high school has to offer. yes she did play some tonight in the loss to shelbyville. she now knows that it's time to go back to work.
