    Cookeville field

It has taken us a while, but we are finally getting there. We are very proud of our stadium and what makes it even better is to know that the team, parents, and coaches are responsible for it all. We were able to raise the money through fundraisers over the past 5 years to get it all done. Thanks goes to all who have helped to make it something we are very proud of. We are not finished yet though, we still have a few additions up our sleeve. Thanks very much for the compliments though.
  2. THE 3RD POST IS THE CORRECT ONE.

  4. Chatt. Central won in a really great championship game. What everyone does not know is that the city of cookeville and the TVA had a scheduled power outage to take place at exactly 1:00a.m. The game finished at 12:51a.m and I just finished presenting the all-tournament team and told everyone to have a safe trip home and the lights went out. It was a scramble for a little while, players could not even find their equipment til we got a few car lights pointed toward the field. What an ending to a great softball weekend. Good luck to everyone in District tourney play!
  5. I just wanted to thank all the teams that participated in this past weekends 2003 edition of the Cookeville Tournament. This years event was sponsored by Mid-State Construction and Friendly Chevrolet (Carthage) and we feel very pleased with this years turn out. The fans and all the teams were just outstanding even though we had some bad weather. I think this was the most competitive tournament we have had to date and just can't wait to get started on next year's tourney. I need to apologize to the Coach T readers for not posting the brackets and pool games, I really meant to get all of that posted but without Coach Duff, this year has been really hectic and a learning experience to say the least. We will definately try to get that done for you all next year. I hope all the teams enjoyed their time in Cookeville and we look forward to seeing you all in cookeville next year! 11. It has been brought to my attention that I forgot to mention that every team needs to bring one ball per game that they will play in the tournament. The ball needs to be the yellow K-Master. Sorry for the omitance of that important information. See you all next friday the 25th.

White County will play in that pool on Friday and Cookeville JV will play that pool game saturday morning in place of Cannon County who was going to play on Saturday only. Don't worry, we will give each coach an updated packet on the day of arrival.

  19. It has been my greatest pleasure knowing and coaching with Verdice Duff. I have had the good fortune to get to know verdice first as a coach and then later on in my life as a friend. Verdice has done so much for me as a player and later on in helping me decide what I wanted to do with my life. He teaches his players so much more than just softball, football, etc. In my career as a highschool player, college player, and now highschool coach I have been around many coaches. I can say that Coach Duff has taught me more about the game of life than any one man besides my father. At a time in my life when I lost my father he was the one person that truly gave me comfort and then finally let me know when it was time to suck it up and move on. He is one of the toughest people I know ,but still has the biggest heart for his players. I can not begin to tell you some of examples of him going out of his way to help a player and not just while they are playing for him. I will truly miss this man I call Boss and a friend. the knowledge I have gained form him is priceless and I will never be able to pay him back for it, but i do greatly appreciate it and if i can only be half the coach he is than I will do pretty good. thanks coach!!!!!
  20. Welcome White County, had one drop for PROM. Still at 43
