If you look at any program the number of kids that play Junior High football always drops off when they get to high school. They always drop again after their freshman year. I am not saying there is not a problem at OCCHS, but every program always has the same problem. There are lots of kids that think they want to play football, but not all of them are commited enough to play. There are obviosly problems and the coaching fiasco has had a big factor with the numbers. Without leadership the kids will loose interest, but that would happen at any program.

WTFOFF It is pretty obvious you do not know much about Obion County sports.

I think the A.D. should find the best candidate available for the job. However, I was not really thrilled with the Walton hire due to the fact he has not even been involved in coaching in the last few years. Whether he was or was not the best choice, I don't think any of us know because we were not in on the hiring process. I have also heard that Walton was not the recommendation of the A.D., but the Director of Schools picked him. Who really knows the real truth, but my hope is that the administration will learn from mistakes from years past and find the best fit and get him and the community on board as soon as possible.

I heard that there may be a new coach named by Friday. I know they interviewed several new candidates last week. Hopefully, we can get someone on board quickly and put all of this mess behind us. It will be very important for EVERYONE to support the kids and the new coach! Everyone has to be working together to get the program back on the right track!!!

Well, it looks like the Rebels will be spending lots of time in the weight room. (Not a bad thing by the way!) I hope this guy really knows football and is planning on staying and not just trying to move up the coaching ladder. Hopefully, Mike Hutchens will interview him next week and provide more information on him. This program needs stability more than anything!!!

It is official. New head coach is Mark Walton. Does anyone know anything about him?

If Hill is wanting a contract for that many years, what are the powers that be waiting on?

I have not heard about the assistants. I have heard that he new "A.D." comes with the credentials for this process. This is supposed to be his expertise.

Well, there is no doubt that one of those particular coaches could definetly put them back on the right track. He sure got the ball flying further before!

Has anyone heard anything about the search for the next Rebel skipper? Just wondering what names were floating around.

Wes Moore and his good buddy Brian Kissell are going to kill the Westview secondary. Your boys better get a good nights sleep, because it is going to be a long night!!

Hey, don't count our Rebel boys out yet. We are a big enough school to compete at a high level in all areas. Congrats to the Rebel girls! Westview is a super team. That shot from half court will be giving us nightmares for some time! We have some great teams here in West TN-lots to be proud of.
