  1. Zazzaa909z9az,

Let's break a few so called "facts" down just to get some things straight from your post above:

1)County employees get in every game for free. Ken Chambers never pays 5 bucks to get in and it sounds like you are proud to say you do. However, if you ever get tired of paying, good luck getting yourself a job with the county to bypass the 5 dollar rule at the door. By the way, do you even have a job?

2)Good luck trying to elaborate (and yes, I just used the word "elaborate"... look it up sometime) on the creekers academics. Looks like Roan Mountain could use a little work themselves. Check your spelling, big guy. Spellcheck was made for people just like you.

    3) It's not a matter of whether or not people want to admit anything, it's the facts in front of you. Do you talk to Coach Chambers, discuss life, hoops and their parallels (there's you another word to look up)? I doubt you do, so don't go with the "good guy" "good coach" plea, try something else. And to refer back to academics, give defining integrity a shot... whew, thats a tough one.

    4) Three points would be the charm, but I'll go for a fourth just for good measure. You can't blame him for watching a game because it really is harmless (whether he pays 5 bucks like you or not), but laughing on the stage while the girls he "cares so much about" are getting it handed to them is not. Get the guy in Roan Mountain who's not on a power trip and has a little integrity to hire him and you'll see......big guy.

Kuriousgeorge, I was going to avoid the "laughing on the stage"(I was truly hoping that none of the players saw this), for the Lady Rangers sake. Screenandroll has it right also(in more a more plesent to the eye writing style). But none the less, I'll go back to an earlier post, until the PLAYERS(first), ex-coach-ES, posters, and "people who want the job", realize the damage their doing, this WON'T GO AWAY! I would bet big money were not the only ones that see this. I would also bet big money that before all is said and done, TRUE colors WILL be shown, always are.(liked the "good guy","good coach" plea, wish some more would take the blinders off and pick up on these things)(IRONIC, isn't it?) As far as the Cloudland job goes, he won't go there,(nothing but a zAZa90/King ploy to keep the "poster world" in an up roar) because they WON'T hire him. I still think it would be a good fit for all. Some advice screenandroll, you are going to have to be more direct, I don't think they get it(may not want to), you know the part where they(coach and company) are not only hurting the Lady Rangers, but themselves.(future jobs IF any) You never know who's watching or reading!

  2. Az, I'm not sure many people think he does this intentionally. But it is a distraction to the players. If you had been coached by someone for a long period of time and all of a sudden had a change (one of which you didn't or your parents didn't feel was right) and things weren't going good, who would you look to for advice? Probably the man you were used to hearing from and not the new person. Especially if you knew he was there watching every move. The problems the Lady Rangers are having are not the fault of Coach Chambers, but he is not being part of the solution either. Of course all of this is in my opinion only. If the Lady Rangers to be truly successful in the future he will have to leave them alone.

Vader or Krich, how about a report on the Lady Bulldog game last night?

screenandroll, I would say that you just gave some very sound advice. But I'm going out on a limb and say it's not taken. If not, then does that make it intentional? (by all parties "typed to")

Gotta go with you on this one, King; and not only due to the fact that, he has the right to be at

    the games, but moreso:

Unaka is currently 3-and-14, including the near-thirty-point loss in Mitchell County, North Carolina.

What IF it were the opposite?

    What IF we were 14-and-3?

Then, how much would it bother those who think that Kenneth should NOT be there?

During Coach Chambers' first season, his successor, Don Parkey, attended nearly all of Unaka's

games. The two coaches would often talk after those games. Coach Chambers spent a lot of time

before that season discussing various things about the team he was to inherit, because he wanted

to be as prepared as possible. Of course, the biggest part of coaching is knowledge - - - of your

team, and the opponent. In whole, and as individuals, every team has a personality, a team-chemistry.

    Attitudes, approaches, practice habits, etc, vary, and often they vary vastly, from player to player;

from team to team. So (to me at least), it would appear that, the more communication between

    coaches, the better.

And to answer your question from yesterday, Screen, yes, I've spoken with Kenneth regarding this

matter. I'll only say publicly that, I know that several of the players do want him to be there.

    And why wouldn't they?

Krich, your agreement speaks for it's self.(with whom) Did it help or hurt Don? You might want to ask the girls again. If he is going to Cloudland, thats the program he should follow, don't you think?(I think it would be a good fit for him) The topper of this thread is your "agreement" with zAZa90/King, all he is doing is using every thing you type against the Lady Ranger program, he "types" the Lady Rangers a new one every time people like you give him the chance.(IRONIC ISN'T IT) You have proved me correct AGAIN. The irony post you typed of, SHOULD HAVE BEEN The Last Word.(let it go, coach and the Lady Rangers will both be better off)

  4. I know one thing, it'll be a cold day in h#ll before anyone tells me I can't pay 5 bucks to see a ball game. To insinuate that Chambers attends games to purposely distract these girls is about as retarded as it gets and it only shows why the Creekers stay in a mess all the time with their acedemics and athletics. Whether you want to admit it or not, Coach Chambers is a good guy and a good coach and somebody on the creek is just suffering from a power trip and low integrity. I knew the some of the creekers were short on character but this beats all I've ever seen. Blaming a former coach sitting in the stands on the current team's woes. Good grief! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

HIRE him at Cloudland! You want him, he WANTS to go, porblem solved!!!!! He will not have to pay then.

  5. ___________________________________________

    ___________________________________________

Thanks for the advice. And for not poking. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Is is not my intent to highlight the negative. There's plenty of grief and strife...

with our economy, wars, sickness and famine, the bailouts/ripoffs, having close

friends and relatives facing near-certain, terminal illness, etc., so our little Seven

thang is way down the priority scale. Nothing all that serious.

However, last night's game (in proper, sports-fan perspective, of course) was very

sad. To that length, it's interesting that a couple prominent and knowledgeable

Cloudland fans are (almost) lementing the apparent breakdown. It is what it is.

And it's multi-faceted. Of course, the injuries have been well-documented. That's part

of it, but any well-versed fan who has seen Taylor Byars play would attest to her importance

to this team, to the significance of losing her for the season.

And it's happened before: Three seasons ago, Sallee Taylor suffered the first of two

serious injuries. Her foot/ankle was broken, which led to reconstructive surgery, then

rehab. The very next season she tore her ACL. With her healthy, I have little doubt that

Unaka would have returned to Murfreesboro. Megan Johnson's last-second, District One-A

tournament heroics got the Lady Rangers a good Regional seed, but Kelly Oliver's red hot

Lady Bulldogs eliminated an outstanding Cloudland team, then put Unaka on the road for

substate, and the resulting loss. The point being, at our level of play, one major injury

    can have catastrophic consequences.

There's still time to get much better. The effort at Happy Valley is very encouraging, so hopefully,

the Roan Mountain experience is an outlier.

But exclusive of what I think or say, this stuff is up and running. The lines are hot. It's rampant.

And, of course, dialogue is a most-precious Right, thus, the wonderful irony: There really is no

    "Last Word."

That very well could have been, The Last Word, but I just don't see it taking place on "this topic". Thus making you correct, by the way which makes me correct also(posters ect.....)(irony)? you were also correct in your first post(playing hard or lack there of) in my opinion.

  6. Sad, isn't it? We really feel for the seniors on this team. Their frustrations were obvious. Like krich said, suffering emotionally. So, my question is, what did this 'different direction' really do to the young ladies on the creek?

Highlander, it is sad. Soooooooooo many people getting such pleasure out of watching the Lady Rangers suffer. The MOST suprising aspect is WHO! To think, these poor girls and parents don't even know where it's comming from. To be led in such a direction by posters, so called fans(of the program), "caring ex-coachES", and even people who "want the job". To answer your question concerning "direction", I would have to say, until the PLAYERS(first), PARENTS and TRUE fans realise where their TRUE frustrations and TRUE emotional suffering is REALLY comming from(weather they want to admit it or not). The direction will be the same. Sad, isn't it!!!!!

  7. ________________________________________

    ________________________________________

Just like zAZa90, just like The Highlander; just like coachh17; like all of us; I want, more

than anything, for my favorite team to do well. That said, it's not at all difficult to view

these contests, tactically and technically, from an unbiased perspective.

So, tactfully, technically, the game was a mess. The mauling at Cloudland was very sad

    to watch.

Physically, there have been injuries: Chelsea Anderson, Taylor Byars, Danielle Jones.

They'll heal, and Jones and Byars will come back even better; in fact, Jones played

several minutes last night. Anderson, a senior, will not play again, but her injuries will

mend, and she'll move on to better things.

And, to clarify, the alleged "lack of effort" on my part, is much more than just, the girls

not trying. In fact, the effort in the first quarter, and part of the second, was inspiring. But

at some point there was a shutdown. And thus, Emotion Health becomes the bigger concern.

Something is askew. Something is very, very wrong at Unaka.

And though there's blame-enough to go around, for certain, it's Not the players fault.

They are much better than what we've seen this season.

And, they deserved a better fate.

As for Kenenth Chambers, he will coach again. A big part of his decision process is

geographical. Where he might best fit, I have no idea. All I know is, there have been

several inquiries, which is not all that surprising. He's a very capable coach.

And, he also has an incredible record as a softball coach.

    Just some thoughts.

Krichunaka, this is not a poke at you, the more this stuff comes up, the more damage is done, not only for the girls but the coach (current and past). Not trying to start anything, but who are the inquiries? Who are your sources?

  8. Wow! I didn't know he coached softball? Very interesting. That is something we definitely need at Cloudland. My little girls are both gonna be lefties. They will learn to pitch at a very young age. I won't put them in an embarrassing program. This man will not accept nothing but the best out of everyone. Thats what I look for in a coach.

As for the Creekers, I couldn't help but feel lonely the other night. When you talk about the creek, you have to talk about the big loud crowd they always had. How they made you love to hate them because they couldn't be beat at Snavely. Man have times changed.

Yet again, another reason to make the hire! Can't wait to see why this doesn't happen.

  9. After seeing the 61-24 drubbing of the Lady Rangers, I don't think I've ever seen a more poorly coached team. And on the stage at Cloudland sat the man that the intelligent /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> stoner creekers wanted to replace and they did replace. I talked to this man and he would very much like to coach at Cloudland. I guarantee we would take care of him up here. In fact, after seeing Cloudland dismantle Unaka in all four games, you can't help but admit that the basketball power has shifted from the creek to the mountain. Whats even funnier is we are dominating them in football as well. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

The problem seems to be solved! Hire the man, you(Cloudland) want him, he wants to go seems like a good fit for both, he may even help you get over the North Green hump! The only thing I see standing in the way is your principal and your current head coach, oh yea the fact that he(said coach) would loose the stigma of the "poor coach that was done wrong", AND he would have to quit comming to ALL the Lady Ranger games and they may get the chance to move on themselves. That last one is a BIGGIE, and I (personal opinion) just don't see it going through. zAZa, go for it, I think you might be in for quite a shock when you find out he won't go! Just make sure you find out why(he won't go, or can't go) and come back on here and TELL us ALL!

  10. After watching the Elizabethton-Johnson Co. game tonight, I believe the Dawgs will go to Treadway and pick up a win if they are ready to play. The Bulldog guards will have to handle the pressure the Cyclones put on them, but if they can do that, they really shouldn't have much of a problem. Johnson Co. led the whole game, but couldn't put it away. Poteat didn't play much in the 2nd half due to foul trouble. That cost the Longhorns the game. Don't let the hype and the UH score fool you like it did me...

It wont, nor anyone else, trust me!(MAXALT)

  11. HAHA!!! I guess the Stoner Creekers didn't like Kenneth taking them to the Sub-State purty much every year. I have to admit though, they are doing very good without him (sarcasm) haha...

Even on a Hampton thread? Warning yet once again, typing is like a signature.(remember maxalt)

  12. I'm with you ,I think it would be a big mistake on their part , but I've seen some bad desisions made at alot of schools. Avery is one of the very biggest 1a schools in the state. They could be a great team.

Pujo, I think there is still an outside shot that Unicoi will make him an offer that will be hard to turn down. I know they are being very quite for a school without a coach

  13. Little Michael will stay at Avery either way, I really doubt Mike will Coach anywhere if not at Avery .The biggest thing it would take to get him over there is a position where he would have job security.

If they don't, BAD loss on their part! We are about to see if Avery wants a football program!?!? Just my guess, they'll do WHAT ever it takes, I WOULD!!!!!!! Just tell Mike good luck for me.(just a Carter Co. football fan, not E-Town)

  14. As far as the original question goes, I do know that Avery is wanting to hire Mike ,but I don't think its a job he will be able to take. He would be too far down on the totem pole as far as teaching goes and if they had to cut back on teachers, he could be stuck without a job. Just too big a risk .Him and Brewer are best of friends ,but the family comes first. He also enjoys home life alot ,so its going to take a good job to lure him in. I also know that bunches of kids at Hampton have talked to him about staying on , he really like these kids, so who knows ,he may just stay and help JC. The job pays nearly nothing for the amount of time and work it takes ,so if he does stay ,it would be solely for the kids. Its sort of crazy how they pay the assistants, they all make the same thing, and its very little.

Will little Mike stay at Avery, now that Mike may stay on as an asst. coach to JC at Hampton? What kind of job will it take to "lure" Mike in?

  15. He just asked a question! I was wondering the same thing! He is probably like me and was just wondering if Devyn was hurt a little or was in the coaches doghouse or what? Devyn did start some last year, so I also found it a little odd he was not starting this year.

I think crazzyness answered this question.

  16. Why don't Drew and Devon get to play more up on the Creek? I would take these 2 over any other player they've got. I watched the Stoner Creekers play Science Hill and the Toppers sorta couldn't stop Drew. And Devon always plays as hard as he can and was starting last year as freshmen. They hardly even got to see the floor during the Hampton game. Just seems kinda dumb to me...

Just seems kinda DUMB to you.........MABY just MABY, thats why your not calling the shots aka the coach! Caution, typing is like a signature! using Stoner Creekers wont throw anyone off!

  17. For the record It was not I who said JC had dementia. I was not guessing, I was only stating what I overheard at games from parents. Which I plainly stated in my post that I over hear people talking. So do you think some of the kids at Hampton High School hasn't heard this or talked about this? Personally we all know the truth about ourselves so I can't say how JC would feel but I'm not goin' lose sleep over it. There are other parents besides the football players parents talking this. Do not twist my words to suit your pupose.

To understand the value of earning respect, it is relatively important to have a good grasp of what the word means. According to Webster's, it is a "high or special regard." It is also "the quality or state of being esteemed." In essence, to be respected, a person must be held in high regard for one reason or another. Those who earn respect, however, generally do not receive this esteem without doing something to gain it. Earning respect is typically based on a person's own abilities, such as a personality trait, characteristic, an action or series of actions. Many say that honesty and trustworthiness are the two keys to earning success in all areas of life. There are many other things, however, that people can do to earn respect from those around them. Whether it is in the community, at work or at home, those who earn respect often have better relationships with those around them.

No TNLady, it was you who emphasised it! When YOU stated hear say it became romor. As far as losing sleep, you might want to read my post with a little less hast/"twist", you didn't type as though you were going to lose sleep. You typed as though you had an agenda. As for you and Webster goes, JC fits that def. ask his peers.

  18. My advise to the football team is this, get in the weight room and work like heck to get bigger ,stronger and faster, Talk to the atheletes that that didn't play last year, should be several that could heLp. This a good group coming back and regardless of who is doing the coaching, the players are the one's who have to make the plays on Friday night. Hampton should have a quality team next season and I want to see them excel. These kids deserve success. GO GET IT.

That's more like the PUJO post I like reading!

  19. I must of missed something? Pujo plainly stated Coach Lunsford and JC are the best of friends. Pujo only stated that JC was the head coach and handed down assignments to different coaches. He has only shown respect to Coach Campbell. You say also that JC deserves the up most respect....well I beg to differ with you....he deserves nothing ...you have to earn it!!!! Another thing I would like to point out is this....I see Pujo at all the games Hampton plays, I see lots of fans talking to him and I hear people talking also, they think JC has dementia (such as thinking, remembering, and reasoning) but never once have I ever heard Pujo say a bad word about JC. The only thing I have ever heard him say was JC has forgotten more about football than most of us have ever known...which is true because JC has proven he can coach football.

It is mostly the fans and parents who think it is time for JC Campbell to retire. And if you haven't heard that talk at the games then you are standing at the wrong place because everyone is talking about it. As for Coach Lunsford he would not take over as head coach at Hampton High School without Coach JC's blessing. As for the boys on the football team they love Mike and JC both.....I think there is maybe 3 or 4 disgruntled kids (or should I say parents) who want things their way.

I will say this on a final note: Let Coach Lunsford not coach next year and see what happens at Hampton High School. To You Parents that want to cripple a football team keep running your mouths!!!

I'm going to say that through record and time served, JC has EARNED his respect!JC IS Hampton football! Hampton had been to round(4) before Mike coached there(again no disrespect to Mike pujo. You of all people know that I know what a GREAT coach he is and have the upmost respect for him, remember the Grace post, and others?). DEMENTIA, guessing if the guy has DEMENTIA, on a PUBLIC WEB SITE that you and I both KNOW the KIDS READ, How do you think JC would feel reading this? Before you answer TNLady, don't type that he would cover it up with a joke! Tell me how you think he feels driving to school every day, walking down the hall every day, working with the staff every day, going to the store, walking through WAL-MART, and last but not least, how do you think HE feels when he's at home(with his guard down ie all jokes aside) getting ready to go through the whole thing again the next day, knowing/not knowing who's been reading this stuff. Would you won"t your father, mother, sister, brother,or your kids to read and deal with this? Watch what you type, you might be finding your self proving maxalt right!

  20. JC has probably forgot more about football than most people have ever known, the only problem is, I don't think he can remember it. lol

TNLady,I think this is what you missed!

this makes me sick you of all people should know what you are doing to a great legend in jc as far as i'm concerned you have lost all coacht cred.you speak of all these great life lessons or socalled life lessons then you get on here and do this to jc ????????? no way out of this one eather. you crossed the line that only a few even know is there thats part of what gave you cred you can say it's all about the kids but it's really about you and mike there is a protocall that should have been observed i'm done with this. now deal with it.

TNLady, I think you missed this also!

  21. With the new playoff system, imagin, if you will, Cloudland(head coach)Mike Luncford, asst.(hc/oc) Robbie and curent staff. Pujo, you tell me the people on Roan Mt. wouldn't be happy? Not that Robbie has done a bad job, but how could one pass on a staff like this? Didn't Robbie play for Mike at Cloudland? If so, who better to help him?

  22. this makes me sick you of all people should know what you are doing to a great legend in jc as far as i'm concerned you have lost all coacht cred.you speak of all these great life lessons or socalled life lessons then you get on here and do this to jc ????????? no way out of this one eather. you crossed the line that only a few even know is there thats part of what gave you cred you can say it's all about the kids but it's really about you and mike there is a protocall that should have been observed i'm done with this. now deal with it.

    zAZa90???????????????????? COMMENTS???????????

  23. I know more than what I am willing to say on here, I like all the people involved. Its just that bad desisions were allowed to be made and some people didn't prepare like they should. JC just pretty much turned over different assignments to different people. Mike didn't have the power to buck the system ,so he's stepping down. JC is great person, but I think he has fought too many battles. Just not worth the effort it takes to do things the right way. Mike is a competitor ,to say the least. and if he can't do things the way he thinks they should be, he'd rather let someone else do it. He needs to be in a system where Coaches and kids are accountable and are willing to play the best kids at whatever positions are best suited for success. He just won't do it any other way. I don't blame him. If the right job opens up ,He'll be there ,if not, the area wil lose a geat leader and Coach.

pujo, I hope you know that I type this with the up most respect for Mike and you. I can't help but caution you that this thread is starting to read as though JC(who deserves the up most respect also) is either not returning, and this is a rallying of the troops for Mike to be the MAN, OR, this is in some way, a push to get JC out and Mike in???? I under stand your frustrations with the thought of Mike not coaching, but I think JC deserves to be typed about in a more positive manner. After all, he has won his fare share of football games, and has influenced a ton of kids in a positive manner him self. I'm sure Mike will have his chances elsewhere, if he wants and seeks them.
