  1. Some teams don't have the luxury of giving a player too much of a break. They need all of their starters to play the whole game. While I agree that players do play better when rested, some teams don't have the manpower to rest them, although they do the best they can. Serious conditioning gives the players stamina to play the whole game, and they learn to take every little break to their advantage. Inexperienced players may play harder, but one person doing the wrong thing can kill a team. Another thing to take into account is that the other players, including those on the other team, are going to get tired as well. All one can do is stink it up and give it their best.
  2. People, even my own teammates, need to cut the dirty mouths. I don't see why people don't just let their pads do the talking. And i am talking to everybody. Please try to remember people can change much during the course of a summer, especially if they work hard. These predictions are based on last year's teams and who can tell the impact certain players had or will have.
  3. Gonzo, what do you do? Read only the latest post in the thread? In case you didn't notice, orange asked how the Raiders would be. Maybe you should take into account circumstances before you post, basically calling me dumb. If you really want to know about our linebackers, we have #88 Lindsay coming back as a senior. He made all region last year, and underwent surgery after the season to correct a problem with his foot. He should come like a blast to tackle anything he can get his hands on. My theory is this: If Lindsay could make all region injured, i can't wait to see what he does healthy. Oh, by the way, I've read some of your other posts. All they have to say is tearing people apart. Maybe you should view this from somebody else's perspective. We want to read what the thread is about, not your beloved Wildcats. I guess the saying is true: Love is blind.
  4. Many times one sees posts saying team so and so is being overlooked. This far before the season, it is difficult to predict how well a team will play. Spring practice and summer training have much to do with how well a team plays. Another point is that in single A schools, one never knows what kind of sophomores a team will have. For that matter, the only players people really know are those that played the previous season. Who knows when a dynamite player or two might show up?

Kids may need confidence. I , however, don't think the players need to develop too big of an ego. If a player thinks too much of himself, he may not give the 110% required through the whole game.
  6. Eagleville may have beaten our (Moore County) J.V. team, but they had many people leave the field because of injuries. We just need to show them what a hard hit is. I've played both varsity and jv. If you never have, there is no way to gauge the difference.
  7. Moore County should be able to play a tough game against everybody. Of the seniors we lost, two were defensive backs and two were lineman. We have sophomores who will move up and some juniors who didn't play. We should play as well on defense as we did last year.
  8. Moore County should come back pretty strong next year. They played several games within one fumble of winning, and averaged almost 70 penalty yards a game. they will only be losing 4 seniors and have many good juniors returning.
  9. If Moore County works hard in the offseason, they will have a hard-hitting smash mouth football team. With that and the endurance they will build running during the offseason, they should be able to play well and keep playing through the last quarter.
  10. Cam Ferrel from Cascade was a senior last year. He should not be returning. However, with the way the region played last year, and the addition of Eagleville, it should be interesting to watch the development of region 6a.
