  1. The state office will not enforce rules and only schedules playoffs and tournaments.

If you host an invitational hoops tourney you have to pay 17% of gross gate to TSSAA. Do they charge for all sports. Wrestling doesnt pay in most places. Softball doesn't in the west. Is it only basketball tourneys that must be sanctioned. If you play in an unsanction event is there penalties. No, not if Carter and crew have to do work. I want a job just attending sporting events.

  2. One reason many people don't see many west Tennessee signees is because of the poor coverage of high school athletics by the Memphis Commercial Appeal. The paper does an injustice to all sports an thier athletes, besides football, in thier coverage.

Another reason many don't know about west Tennessee hoops is because aside from about 6 people there are no post from the west Tennessee Memphis area. I know that the highway 45 corridor is highly represented on CoachT. Martin, Gibson county, Obion and all the way down to jackson, but when you get to the Memphis area 4 people produce most of the post about high school girls hoops.

Univ. of Memphis has wasted a scholarship on a girl from SBEC

April Eason of Melrose signed somewhere last week and I don't have details.

Kristen Kirkland will sign with CBU or Harding Univ Friday.

There are others that I don't have information about, again because of press coverage. Each smaller town has their own paper and pumps up the local stars and thier accomplishments. Then those stories are picked up by Nashville, Chatanoga and Knoxville papers and their athletes get more exposure. Not to say anything bad about that situation but those are facts that can't be disputed.

  3. This sounds very much like the Shelbyville girl's post where everyone whines that they get the best players. In that though they say the coach wins and the players come. Why can't that be true of Terry Tippett at White Station. Being in their district, I can tell you, you think they will always be down next year, they just change #s and faces and the next group is almost as good if not better. Terry will beat you with your own style or make you play how he wants too, and still beat your rear and you have the long ride back to east Tenn.

  4. Where the heck is all this east tennessee power at on Finals Saturday.

Explain Sevier County fans, or have you sworn off CoachT?

I know it was the officiating, a TSSAA conspiracy, MTSU gave your teams the bad locker rooms, your cat died, stomach hurt, and were having a bad hair day.

  5. No dog here either, but I feel the tech was undeserved. Houston and Newman both had reactions to calls that could have garnered technicals earlier in the game.

Should they have been called. No! Neither should the one on manuel. There was an official she was moving toward that could have dealt with it without the guy running in from the opposite corner and calling it. Should she have been warned yes. Emotions in those situations for young people come quickly and she didn't get the chance.

Did it change the outcome of the game. No! only the margin and the fan enjoyment.
