  1. The state office will not enforce rules and only schedules playoffs and tournaments. If you host an invitational hoops tourney you have to pay 17% of gross gate to TSSAA. Do they charge for all sports. Wrestling doesnt pay in most places. Softball doesn't in the west. Is it only basketball tourneys that must be sanctioned. If you play in an unsanction event is there penalties. No, not if Carter and crew have to do work. I want a job just attending sporting events. Coach K
  2. Latoya Bullard may be the best true point guard. I know the rural west Tn folks will scoff, but she can really play. Nikki Mccray played more of a 2/3 in High school, but she is still the best athlete to come out of the west. Shields had the high school stats to back up any arguement.
  3. The recruiting classes at Ridgeway and Kirby in Memphis have been stellar. They will have a chance to compete on the state level.
  4. Showtime, Tell her it is all a matter of having the right "GENES"
  5. One reason many people don't see many west Tennessee signees is because of the poor coverage of high school athletics by the Memphis Commercial Appeal. The paper does an injustice to all sports an thier athletes, besides football, in thier coverage. Another reason many don't know about west Tennessee hoops is because aside from about 6 people there are no post from the west Tennessee Memphis area. I know that the highway 45 corridor is highly represented on CoachT. Martin, Gibson county, Obion and all the way down to jackson, but when you get to the Memphis area 4 people produce most of the post about high school girls hoops. Division 1 signees Lakira Boyd-Kirby-MTSU Amber Bacon-Millington-Austin Peay Dee Pryor-Central- Univ. of Ark. at Little Rock Caryn Robinson- Central-UAB or Birmingham Southern Sherronda Watts-White Station-Ark State Taryn Towns-Bolton-Samford Brittany Smith-Hamilton-Southwest Louisianna Univ. of Memphis has wasted a scholarship on a girl from SBEC April Eason of Melrose signed somewhere last week and I don't have details. Proche Willis of Kirby is undecided as yet to my knowledge. Division 2 signees Michelle Steele-Houston-Christian Brothers Univ Pen Anderson-Bolton-CBU Kristen Kirkland will sign with CBU or Harding Univ Friday. There are others that I don't have information about, again because of press coverage. Each smaller town has their own paper and pumps up the local stars and thier accomplishments. Then those stories are picked up by Nashville, Chatanoga and Knoxville papers and their athletes get more exposure. Not to say anything bad about that situation but those are facts that can't be disputed.
  6. If Collierville is smart and plays halfway decent they will win 15....
  7. Have you heard anything on this yet....
  8. Any thing yet Coach Jackson on these tryouts.
  9. Showtime7 when is ya'lls 18 team going to go. Tacosparoleofficer is suppose to get me info. My daughter started for the west tenn lady tigers last year is a senior but wants to keep playing. any info yet.
  10. Yelp, last Monday and She liked it but it was a smaller school than she expected. It is also Division 3 NCAA so I dont know how the scholarship situation will work out. Thanks for the connection though and I would be interested in helping with the west Tenn stuff.
  11. This sounds very much like the Shelbyville girl's post where everyone whines that they get the best players. In that though they say the coach wins and the players come. Why can't that be true of Terry Tippett at White Station. Being in their district, I can tell you, you think they will always be down next year, they just change #s and faces and the next group is almost as good if not better. Terry will beat you with your own style or make you play how he wants too, and still beat your rear and you have the long ride back to east Tenn.
  12. Who, what, when, where? Memphis girls want to play and will travel.
  13. We all, as coaches, desire to build our program to the level of Shelbyville. Otherwise, we can never compete with them. Most of us work hard and are looking for those 2 consecutive classes that will give us the depth to have a semblance of the eagles success. IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. needed the geography lesson thanks, but McMinn doesn't mouth either.. They play.
