  6. I would've if I could've but the bus left right after the game and started the 9 hour trip home. Since I don't have satellite for a computer the post had to wait. Tis the season......Santa won't wait. Story..... Wilson Central lost 34-32 to Shelbyville last night in the Riverstreet Classic in Savannah, Ga. The word was why not come back to MTSU and play there, at least the teams would make some $$$. Anyway, WC started out strong taking a 16-8 first quarter lead. But as Shelbyville has done most of the year, they continued to play hard. The Eaglettes outscored the Lady Wildcats 10-7 to make the halftime score 23-18. As second half continued to playout, the defensive pressure from both teams became apparent. By the total points scored by the 2 teams, defensive pressure took over. WC was held to 9 points in the half while Shelbyville put in 16. Wilson Central had 5 players to score. Tierney Jenkins 12 and Jasmine Hassell with 12 followed by Sara Williams 5, Breonna Brown 2 and Jenny Hall 1. The Eaglettes had 6 players to break in the scorebook with Janay Armstrong scoring 10 and Anisha Buchanan 8. They were followed by Ceny Phelps 6, Brittany Smith 4, Andria Johnson 3, and Kayla Bryant 3. The Lady Wildcats fell to 11-2 and Shelbyville up their record to 9-3. Both teams will be playing each other again for the third time next Friday December 30 at Wilson Central. Game one December 5 @Shelbyville Wilson Central wins 55-45 Game two December 23 @ Savannah Shelbyville wins 34-32 Game three December 30 @ Wilson Central ????? come see the game GAMETIME BEGINS AT 7:00PM. Bring your friends.......neighbors......and don't forget the game will be heard on the internet....www.shelbyvilleeaglettes.com. ************** Now is that better Flngrvy??
  7. Wilson Central captured win number 11 of the 2005 campaign as the Lady Wildcats defeated Memphis Ridgeway 50-42. Leading the way as they did yesterday (Thurs) was the post trio of Jenkins, Williams and Hassell that proved to be too much for the Roadrunners to handle. Both Jenkins and Williams recorded double doubles for the Ladies in Blue as Jenkins pulled down a season high 15 rebounds and scored the same number of points, 15. Williams put in 14 for Wilson Central and pulled down 11 boards. Jasmine Hassell scored 12 points while Cameryn Calhoun and Lauren Farmer scored 6 and 3 respectively. Both teams started the game slow as only 2 points were scored in the first 4 minutes. The first quarter ended tied 6-6. Wilson Central outscored Ridgeway 13-5 which proved to be the downfall for the ladies from Memphis. At the end of the third, Ridgeway kept pace with Central scoring 13 to WC's 15. The fourth quarter began as a furious rally was staved off by Wilson Central in the final 3 minutes of the game. Calhoun, the sophomore point guard for WC hit 6 of 6 foul shots to keep the Roadrunners from ever capturing the lead and winning the game Final score 50-42. Wilson Central advances to the Championship game on Friday night to play the Eaglelettes of Shelbyville Central who narrowly defeated St, Johns of New York 54-51. The game can be heard over the internet at www.shelbyvilleeaglettes.com with tip-off scheduled to start at 6:00 central time. Good luck to both teams and have a safe journey home.

  9. Wilson Central defeated previously undefeated Lower Richland High School from Columbia, South Carolina 50-42 in the first round of the Riverstreet Classic. WC led 13-8 after the first quarter of play as the post trio of Williams, Jenkins and Hassell scored all 13 from inside the paint. Wilson Central continued it's inside dominance in the second scoring 18 to take a 31-21 lead at the half. Lower Richland, however, came out in the third quarter and outscored the Lady Wildcats 11-6 to make the score 37-33 going into the fourth quarter. Wilson Central returned the favor and outscored the #5 ranked team from South Carolina 13-9 to make the final score 50-42. Leading scorers for Wilson Central was Jasmine Hassell with 19 and Tierney Jenkins getting another double double scoring 16 points and gathering 10 rebounds. Sara Williams and Cameryn Calhoun each scored 6 points while Breonna Brown scored her 3 points from downtown in the 4th quarter. Eboni Davis led the Lower Richland team with 10. Wilson Central hit 11-21 foul shots for 52% and 18-40 from the field for 45%. Calhoun and Brown hit the only long range shots for Wilson Central hitting 2 and 1 respectively.
