  1. Actually, I think the facility you are referring to is Select's USBA complex (which IS on General George Patton) The A-Game Sportsplex is the former Southern Ice facility on Gothic Court off Mallory Springs Road. The facility features 2 ice rinks, and a full wing of basketball and volleyball courts. Impact Volleyball Club at A-Game Sportsplex There is plenty of parking and bleachers set up on every court. There is no food, gum or drinks allowed on the courts, water only please. All the net systems are suspended from the ceiling and every court has an electronic scoreboard. This tournament is hosting ages 12U to 18U. No, not every club is bringing every age group. All the tournament information can be found at SRVA Online. Just select Tournament Calendar and the date you are looking for.
  2. There is a one-day tournament at the A-Game Sportsplex on January 24. Admission is free and the tournament will (most likely) start early in the day and last well into the late afternoon, early evening. Teams will range from 18U to 12U. Clubs entered include: A5 (Atlanta) Arkansas Juniors Impact Nashville One North Georgia Rocket City (Huntsville) Smoky Mountain Juniors (Knoxville) TCA (Atlanta) Dig to Win (Chattanooga) Nashville Spike Birmingham Volleyball Club Choo-Choo City (Chattanooga) North Alabama Christian Athletics I will post the schedule as it becomes available. This is the first tournament in the new A-Game Sportsplex. Lots of courts, lots of seating. Should be a good one.
  3. Good luck to the teams starting to compete this weekend, Southern Region tournaments: SSA Southern Draw, Atlanta Choo-Choo City, Chattanooga
  4. Just goes to show that the scoring thing happens even at the biggest events. They did have the score wrong and in fact, Penn State had to win 2 extra points to win the set. The crowd, however, didn't have to yell "SCORE" but did chant the correction which should have been 21-19. Instead the corrected score read 20-19. Just to show the ball doesn't lie, Penn State won the set anyway.
  5. Lambuth cuts programs This is pretty disturbing. They are cutting faculty as well as some athletics and other extra curricular activities due to budget strain.
  6. Whatever winter holiday you observe, I hope it is safe, happy and full of joy. I look forward to seeing everyone when the season finally starts in January! Please post your tournament schedules when you have them and let's try to meet up this winter/spring. All the best to you and yours, P4K
  7. Check impactvbc.org -- Impact has club and power tournaments scheduled for this season. Also look for tournaments sponsored by Select http://wcselect.clubspaces.com/default_css.aspx they usually have some also.
  8. I have posted the details (as I know them) on the Tryout thread pinned above (11/12/08)
  9. Impact will have an additional tryout for Impact NORTH at Hendersonville HS I could not find a tryout fee on the flyer so there may not be one. If you are interested, call the phone number for additional information. If you'd like a copy of the flyer email me at play4keeps@gmail.com and I'll forward it to you since I can't post the entire thing here.
  10. I was sent this email this morning by ghs17dad in the Gallatin area. He received the info from his daughter's HS coach. I might also mention that there was a flyer attached however it was not formatted correctly and I could not open it. If someone else has it, I will be happy to post it. P4K
  11. Awesome turnout! Do you think DigToWin had a similar turnout? It's great to see your club growing!
  12. Welcome 4sports4us! I hope you enjoy our community of club players, fans, parents, and coaches. Let us know which club your daughter ends up playing for. Your questions are the same one every parent asks. Especially since fees are pretty much even. How much does your daughter learn? We look at coaches first. Playing on the "2" team at one club may equate to playing on the "1" team at another club. I guess I think that touching the ball all year can't help but make a girl a better player, regardless of the success of the team. Best of luck!
  13. I know some clubs have not completed tryouts but many had their first round tryouts this weekend. How did it go? Was turnout good? Talent level? Younger vs. Older players?
  14. This is an AWESOME statement and I plan to steal it the next time a car load of girls start complaining about bad calls! Thanks!

  16. That's it -- I am closing this thread. I warned everyone early on in the season that I would tolerate a lot of things but not the calling out of players by name. This is not at all productive and it stops here. If you are not happy with this decision, please feel free to contact Coach T to complain.
