  1. It was great to see the Lady Cherokees in the state. Anytime a region 3 team breaks through to state..that is an accomplishment. Kudos to Coach Williams and his staff. Blowing that 16 point lead hurts, but there were alot of teams at home instead of playing in the quarterfinals! Good luck next year to the Lady Cherokees. A good trivia question....who was the last district 5 tournament champion besides Bradley or Mcminn? You go to go back to the early 90's!
  2. I'm a past thing! Just do scouting work because I'm working on the grad degree! Nothing more, nothing less!
  3. Do ya really like my hair? There is no Mrs. Huck...not yet, but there is a 6'2" blondy on the UTC basketball team that I'm eyeing! I tell you what Pitino, you need to go to summer camp at Shelbyville! My summer camps with coach Cretton were intense, but Harlow...he was yelling the whole 32 minutes. The first time at Marshall Co with him, he knew I had never been that intense on a court yet again on a summer camp court. He was yelling on the defensive side of the court just like Mayfield the previous game. I learned that very quickly because I wasn't yelling on my side of the court and he let me know it. He lets you know everything he thinks about you. The only regret is that we didn't get past sub-state when Jackson was a senior. I feel like we got outcoached. That's never going to happen again. I hope someday Harlow will get that first state championship...he needs one...he deserves one. He works to hard not to get the gold ball! Well I'm out....got to get the hair in the sun!
  4. I do not coach like Daddy Harlow! I coach more like Cretton and Smiddy! I got my X and O's training from Harlow..Coach Summit told me to stick to that! I'm getting ready to start AAU so if you need a coaching job Pitino well see if Harlow will let you be and assistant and after all the spiting and screaming...you'll be a official coach! Seriously though, I'm going to start a AAU program to filter girls to my program. Insell has alot of championships because of his AAU program. I've got a couple of good players that I think will be great coaches! I'm in philosophy development right now so It's going to be rough for awhile, but I'm ready to get started! See ya'll at the Bradley Golf Tournament!
  5. 23's Mom, I never got to meet you put I'm proud to say that your daughter always gave 100 percent. This one time at summer camp Brandi committed a couple of turnovers and Harlow called a timeout. When she sat down. He chewed her out good. She looked away for like 2 1/2 seconds and he said. "Dad gum it, you better look at me when I'm talking to you." She looked him strait in the eyes even as the spit from his speech slashed in her eyes! That is discipline! She was one focused and dedicated girl! They all are! To put up with Daddy Harlow for 3 years is simply amazing. I wish her the best of luck! We talked during the Cleveland-Rhea game one night. I tried to put emphasis on her college academics. Hopefully you'll keep the pressure on her to not only succeed on the court, but more importantly in the classroom! Good luck to her and you in the future!
  6. There are no easy games in state. Each night you just hope that your team can keep there composure and get the big W! Good luck to both!
  7. District 5-AAA will be tough again. The Bearettes return alot. How they do at Shelbyville and Des Plains will really tell how the team develops. Brandi Scott was a go to player. It will be exciting to see how the team reacts to her absence. McMinn will be a contender because of Hardaway. It seems as though the whole district is balanced. As soon as I get done with my Master's I'll be looking around to start my on program. Good luck in the off season to all.
  8. I agree with you, but there is only so much you can do as a assistant. she'll be in the post next year and probably will in Junior college. Maybe next year she'll step up, but making Harlow a believer...Good Luck. Even she would say that. I'll check with her and get back to ya'll!
  9. Pitino and Bearette, Stay in the stands! I'm battle tested and maybe their positions are unexceptable to you, but they except them with a smile and hard work! You'll never know that unless you came in the 100 degree gym and sweated it out with us. Maybe you should coach AAU and you'll know what it's all about!
  10. Yeah, I guess it easier to coach from the stands. Your record always stays at 0-0. I never said Reynolds was a bad player. She is a great 4. I just don't see her shooting threes. I guess it is a role thing. She is not the best dribbler in the world so that keeps her off the perimeter. If Harlow knew that she could knock down the three then he would screen her out for some easy looks. She is a hard worker. She has alot of heart. She couldn't hit the 15 to 20 footer in practice so she really never gets a chance in the game. Plus Bradley had Crowe, Scott, and Jackson. She runs the floor well for a post and she BOXES out. I never had to get onto her for that..the only player ever! High School is all about being a role player. Ever now and then you get a B. Jackson that can do it all well, but 9 times out of 10 they are role players and that is her role. She does it exceptionally well. Good luck to Reynolds for one more year. (one more year of putting up with Harlow!)
  11. Tennessee at Chattanooga PG - Heather McDivett Memphis Germanton SG - Miranda Warfield Dickson County SF - Jennifer Wilson Oak Ridge Also: Tiffani Robertson Jackson Northside Katasha Brown Clabourne County Natalie Stephens Henry County Katie Galloway Lookout Valley
  12. Read your own posts os91. You put her on a pedestal..anyway the thread isn't suppose to be about her..why don't you just create your on thread. Read what you write!
  13. OSHS's Hall = Jesus Christ of Women's Basketball Where is she going UCONN? Give it a rest...They are two totally different players. The best.....everybody has their own opinion. I like Beechboard because of the system and tradition...and don't try to argue over L.A. tradition. She'll be a great role player in college! Hall...never seen her..probably will at some time, but to put her on a mountain above the rest...whatever!
  14. Who should represent Tennessee in the Tennessee-Georgia All-Star game to be Coached by Jack H. Harlow of Bradley Central High School? Kendall Cavin Rebecca Rowsey Angela Phillips Brittnay Frazier Jada Mincy Rebbeca Rowsey Ashley Shields Krystle Horton Amber Benjamin Heidi Rominger Brooke Wilhoit Ashley Taylor How about these 13? [Edited by HUCK on 3-19-03 7:36A]
  15. Pickel - Height disadvantage and he is an excellent baseball player Sharpe - Big Height disadvantage. A big heart goes along way, but it's usually at the NAIA level (Nothing wrong with that at all) Cooper - Mr. Excitement! A little to small for the 3. I think he is a natural two or one. I can see him playing at the D-1A level if he gets 2 or 3 inches more Pugh - Hopefully the height that his brother posesses will come to him this summer and like you said, the offensive skills are lacking. Of course his brother was a late bloomer and now is a member of the Southern Conference all-freshman team! These guys will go somewhere it's just hard to say at this point..I just hope they put academics first! Good luck to them and the rest of their high school careers!
  16. Whose your picks: AAA: Shelbyville-Fuller makes anybody a contender Cleveland-Everybody is back AA : Livingston Academy:Beechboard and the hog-eyes are rolling Oliver Springs Jackson County:5 straight titles? A : Peabody: They have everybody back I guess this is a little early, but I like to pinpoint teams that are good to watch in summer camp. I don't know the situation throughout the state so info will help in my summer travels [Edited by HUCK on 3-18-03 3:46P]
  17. I coached them Pitino! I now there weaknesses as well as there strengths. They are good ball players, but you put them in the position that they are capable of scoring in. They are front court players. The post play for Bradley is good! Crowe can play the 3 very well. The only problem with Bradley will be the shooting guard slot! You just have to know their positions. Crowe complained about not getting off the bench in AAU. She's being taught two positions. I like her better in the post, stepping out to hit the three. I watched them for a spring and a full summer. I might be a little hard on them, but I expect them to do better that others. They just have alot of work to do with very little time. I'd like to see those girls in the state their senior year! [Edited by HUCK on 3-13-03 12:17P]
  18. Shelbyville's Geriatric Fans! If they lose the hospital will be full of cardiac attacks! They all sit in the middle on the opposite side of the bench. they represent the school! Not the students. when we lost to them there was a small student section compared to everbody esle. I guess you just get tired of winning...is that true Jackson county?
  19. Cool under pressure! They just know how to win in the tournament. I hope one day I can stringe together excellence like coach Brown and the Lady Blue Devils. Good Luck, Friday!
  20. Can you enlighten us on who she is for the rest of Tennessee to marvel at?
  21. Jackson is in the semi-finals! 2 to go!
  22. All I'll remember is that AE lost. 1 point or 30 points it's still a L.
  23. Everybody has a chance...just some not as good as others! I guess that your talking about the Sevier Co. team, eh! They are the defending champs! They got as good as chance as any! Thanks poeye! [Edited by HUCK on 3-13-03 10:50A]
  24. They should let the Mocs in the NIT becasue the coaching staff got the Golden Eagles to the quarterfinals. Experience pays, also McKenzie will bring a crowd! As far as Harlow running talent off...Butler was with Bradley all spring and summer last year.. after they got back from the summer camp in Chicago she went to Walker Valley. Rumor has it that the Ocoee Middle girls are all going to Walker Valley. I will be coach at Bradley one day..I've just got to get my certification and show that I'm capable of running the show!
