I bet you money that the parent put it in his head too! They are the worst. They try to live their dreams through their children. One parent a couple of years ago chased me and the head coach out of this gym. He said that we didn't leave her in long enough for her to be productive. She was a role player and we needed a board so she was called upon. A great coach once told me that you only need 5 players to play a game and you don't lose with seniors on the floor!

Brainerd scored more points? they better not let Ooltewah do that! Cleveland and Bradley are waiting!

Coach's are also teachers, parents, and relatives. Recruiting is the responsiblity of the player. The coach can help provide info and other stuff, but they are already spread to thin. Another thing is the pay doesn't warrant coaches to spend 24/7 on coaching. As a coach, I like helping my player find a school that best suits them ACADEMICALLY. The chances of becoming pro are slim to none.
I don't mind putting together a tape or calling to give a good recommendation. There just doesn't seem to be enough time as a high school coach. We are way underrated, but on the other hand I'm in this business to develop my players into professionals and I don't mind going above and beyond to ensure that they have a future away from basketball. If they can put up with a coach like me for 4 years then they deserve all the help they can get!

That's how you get your advantage is through small. Standing room only is good enough for me

You can argue Insell's tactics all you want, but it's not going to take away those 8 state championships! We coach to win..no more, no less

I remember back at TTU when I was a sophomore. I went to watch #1 Livingston Academy (won state that year) against the Lady Dawgs #2 behind Bradford! The lady Dawgs and their press wore The Lady Cats out. I got there and thought...what a small little rat hole, but it turned out to be one of the best high school games I've ever seen. They won by 20 points! It's a game in a special place that I will always probably remember! Thanks for the memories!
Go Lady Dawgs...host a sub-state game..I wouldn't mind driving 3 hours to watch one more time!
-
It's wide open! Execution and Confidence will bring home the A title. Good luck to all....but if I had to chose I'd say....Celina and Clarkrange in the finals!
-
Lady Dawgs are on their way to state! I've seen this train before and it's rolling all the way to the Murphy Center!
Good Luck Celina and make the upper Cumberland Region proud!
-
First Bledsoe has to get past McMinn Central and Walker Valley...then in sub-state they will face Jackson Co or Livingston Academy. It's a uphill battle...I don't see them in state! Sorry!

Cumberland over Rhea 18 62/44
Bradley over McMinn 1 49/48
Cleveland over Cumberland 16 58/42

Records shouldn't be the main component in whether a coach is the best. I believe character is the most important. Coach Logsden is one of the greatest people I've ever met. He spends countless hours of practice and counseling to develop his wrestlers. He tries to make professionals out of them. Even if Bradley was losing. He would be the best to me. When I was at Bradley he was respected not only as a teacher and coach, but also as a friend. Respect goes a long way and he best demonstrates this. Him and Coach Turner Jackson set the example for any coaching staff. They were always willing to lend a hand. All they did was give 100% and thats what makes him above the rest. Good Luck in the future Coach Logsdon!

Teams like these don't stay down for long. I thought Jackson would stumble this year, but look at them now! The upper Cumberland is full of talent in womens basketball. That's the one thing I miss about college at Tennessee Tech. Watching 7 AA duke it out. Hopefully one day I'll find myself back in the region. Another good thing is the good fan support and sportsmanship that even you are showing. After the games are over and the smoke is cleared everyone still knows that basketball is just a game. Congradulations to the Lady Bees and Dana McWilliams and good luck in the future!

7 AA is the district year in and year out! The upper Cumberland teams are rocking this year not only in AA but in AAA and A. If I was a betting man I'd put my money on those teams. they just play solid half-court tempo controlling ball. They can be beat, but it's not very often.Who can step up to them....Westview gave us trouble in summer camps in the past and also McMinn Central, if they live up to their potenial. Good luck to all!

player69 probably never stepped on a college basketball court. It's always the non-athletic goofs that talk bad about other ball players. I agree with any decision the Halston has made. He controls his own destiny. To say he stinks is very rude. Find another thread!

All I'll remember is the two L's that are on Cleveland's schedule!

White County in 1998 and 1999
Back to Back State Championships!

Good post! Intensity and Physicalness are part of the game. Some people need to try playing college ball. Give the kid a break. He's laying it all on the line. Just because your kids good the feelings hurt in a ballgame doesn't mean Harris is a thug. If it was dirty I'm sure the refs would look into the matter.

I guess you were at Cleveland during the years Bradley was rolling over the Blue Raiders. Zimmerman moved on to Cookeville where I think he did a half-decent job. He did a pretty good job at Cleveland also. Forced to resign...I'm not sure about all of that. I really didn't keep up with Cleveland while I was at TTU. Why do all you Cleveland people complain now. We didn't here it during the V Yarbourgh years of Slama Jamma! Were there bad calls then? Your sounding like your getting cheated everytime you come over to Smiddy Arena. The game is as fair at Cleveland as it is at Bradley. The district and region tournaments tell the story. Seasonal Domination carries over into the tournament. The close games swing and the end results are not biased, but are won by good execution and coaching. So live with the rivalry and quit complaining.

Joel Z:
You played for Cleveland so your enormously biased. During the Reggie Tucker and David Turner years Bradley hardly ever beat Cleveland. They had alot of good players come through. Ref bias is all in your head. Blaming your shortcoming on refs is absurd. Do you blame the refs when you win. "The refs really helped us out this game. If it wasn't for them we might have had to start the bus up early!" Look in the mirror before you throw nonsense out!

Lawerenceburg is kinda Shelbyville. Homecourt advantage is big District 8. The only difference is that the concession workers aren't dogging you when you walk in the front door! Lawerence by 7/47-40

This years tournament is at Cleveland and it is wide open! How will pull it out. Will Bradley's coaching staff make the necessary adjustments to pull off the upset again. Will Cleveland's talented team be able to overshawdow the underachieveing staff. Will McMinn put the pieces together and rise to the top. Can Cumberland put a run together to get the title that has escaped their grasp for so long! Can you feel the drama! And we haven't even talked about the guys bracket! I believe Bradley will pull it out like usual with Brandi Scott taking the MVP.

I was an assistant and let's just say that I never lost to your team while I was on the sideline.
