  1. Can't beat greenback on their homefloor with greenback ref, coach there has it wrapped up on his refs, greenback hates big floor!! Wartburg destroyed them at home, tellico will dominate greenback monday, oakdale will be war with wartburg, as always

    It was at os!

  2. Oakdale played Kingston largely without Kilby. Injured in opening minutes of game and didn't return. Oakdale and Wartburg played Kingston very similar. Both played tough until last couple of minutes and Kingston depth wore both of them down. Oakdale/Wartburg games against Kingston were both closer than the final score indicated. BTW Kingston is a good team.

  3. District 4-A Girls

    1. Oakdale (bye)

    2. Coalfield vs. 7. Sunbright 2-15-11

    3. Oneida vs. 6. Jellico 2-15-11

    4. Oliver Springs vs. 5. Wartburg 2-15-11

All first round games will be played at higher seed at 7:00 p.m. EST except Oliver Springs vs. Wartburg which will be played at Wartburg due to Oliver Springs tournament hosting restrictions.

2nd round 2-18-11 All games will be played at Wartburg High School for semis on.

    Oakdale vs. Oliver Springs/Wartburg

    Coalfield/Sunbright vs Oneida/Jellico

Championship and Consolation will be on 2-21-11 at Wartburg High School.

  4. I think wartburg and coalfield will both come out on top. I think both games will come down to the last minute but wartburg and coalfield have been so battle tested coming out of District 4-A. Few large margin wins in 4-A. Jordan will find a way to make sure Coalfield gets there. Wartburg's seniors "been there done that" experience level will pull them through on the road. Fans are gonna see some good games tonight no doubt about that.

  5. As far as recruiting....All high schools recruit anymore. Grace is a private school anyone can go there if they have the monwy to pay. There are a few arrogant Grace fans but I have to seriously think that a couple of the "supposed" ram fans aren't that at all, just people still wanting cause some problems at least thats what I want to think.

All high schools recruit???? I think your going a little far there. There are many that break the rules, but not all. Let's not pin the tail on all donkeys.

  6. I'm not rubbing it in. Just wanted to wish Oakdale luck this week. I'm getting tired of hearing how good Oneida is and they moved ahead of us in the rankings and that isn't right. The Grace Christian Academy??”Striving for Perfection in 2008.

Why isn't that right. Oneida is GOOD! I think I'm starting to put two and two together.

  7. Hampton has proven that they can make it to 3rd or 4th round and get stomped. The Grace Christian Academy??”Striving for Perfection in 2008.

I can't believe this guy. Tempting Hampton?????? The most proven team the last few years in East Tn single A. I guess you want some of Maryville, Alcoa, and South Pitt too?

  8. I'm sure Hampton has a good little team up there, but they haven't seen the likes of The Grace Christian Academy. They got a dose last year down at South Pittsburg and that is what it will be like for them in a couple more weeks. The Grace Christian Academy??”Striving for Perfection in 2008.

Seriously your picking a fight with Hampton. I know Grace has a decent team but they haven't proven anything. Proof is in the playoffs. Hampton has proven a lot.

  9. PUJO just be ready for The Grace Christian Academy. You haven't seen a football machine until you seen our Rams run up and down the field. If you need some gas to make it down off that mountain, let me know and I will send you some. Soon enough you will get to see The Grace Christian Academy??”Striving for Perfection in 2008.

I wouldn't fire up Hampton if I were you. Hampton may not be as strong as usually but they are still Hampton. A proven program like Hampton can bury anyone on a certain night. Just be careful.

    Tops In 1A

    1. Red Boiling Springs (20-1) – The Lady Bulldogs became one of two teams this week to reach the twenty-win mark this season with a 4 point win over Jackson County and a 10 point win over Clay County. RBS has three away games this week as they have a tough road test on Monday against Region 4A opponent Westmoreland, an easy District 7A game against Hermitage Springs on Tuesday, and a huge, highly anticipated district match-up against Clarkrange in a game that not only all of District 7A will be watching, but all of Class A as well.

    2. Clarkrange (18-2) – The Lady Buffaloes won their only game of the week in a relatively easy 15 point win on the road over AAA Cumberland County. Clarkrange will play two District 7A games this week beginning with a trip to Monterey on Tuesday to play an improving Lady Wildcats team before hosting Red Boiling Springs on Friday in a battle between the two best teams in 7A and, possibly, in Class A.

    3. Gleason (18-0) – The Lady Bulldogs remained three games ahead of Greenfield and Lake County in District 14A with wins over Lake County (by 9) and South Fulton (by 11). Gleason also notched another tally in the win column with a victory over West Carroll by 11, who currently stands atop of District 13A in a three-way tie with McKenzie and Clarksburg. Gleason has two tough district games this week as they host Rakeshia Perry and Trenton Peabody on Monday before heading to Greenfield on Friday for a battle between some of the top guards in West Tennessee.

    4. Trinity Christian Academy (16-2) – The Lady Lions took down District 15A rival Madison Academic Magnet by 16 and Jackson Christian by 17 to hold onto the top spot in the district. TCA has two more district games this week as they hit the road on Tuesday to face a pretty good Decatur County Riverside team before hosting Adamsville on Friday in what should be another win for the Lady Lions.

    5. Collinwood (13-3) – The Trojanettes notched two more District 12A wins this week with a 48 point victory over Mt. Pleasant and a 35 point win over Zion Christian Academy. Things will be a little more difficult this week for Abby Andrews and company as they host inter-county rival Wayne County on Tuesday before welcoming a struggling Perry County team on Friday.

    6. Richland (21-2) – The Lady Raiders currently have the most wins in Class A thanks in part to two more wins this week over Huntland (by 26) and Culleoka (by 35). This very balanced and determined group have only one game this week, but it is a big one as they host Santa Fe on Friday.

    7. Summertown (14-3) – The Lady Eagles used an 18-0 run to start the game against Perry County to put them away easily by 28 before running over a very young Hampshire team by 50. However, Summertown’s weakness was exposed against a upset-minded Forrest team as the Lady Rockets dominance on the boards was a huge factor in their 8 point win over the Lady Eagles. Summertown has three easy games this week as they travel to Zion Christian on Tuesday, go on the road against Mt. Pleasant on Friday, and host Region 6A opponent Columbia Academy on Saturday.

    8. Wayne County (16-4) – The Lady Cats snapped their two game losing streak by beating Frank Hughes by 13 before putting together a strong second half to put away Perry County by 16. Waynesboro wraps up their recent five game road trip this week as they head just down the road to face the Trojanettes of Collinwood on Tuesday before heading to Maury County to face the Zion Christian Academy Lady Eagles.

    9. Forrest (13-6) – The Lady Rockets may be starting to make another run towards Murfreesboro as they won two impressive games this week with a 19 point victory over an up-and-coming Middle Tennessee Christian team and an 8 point win over Summertown. This week brings two more district road games as Forrest takes on Community on Tuesday before heading to F.C. Boyd, Sr. Christian on Friday.

    10. Oliver Springs (14-6) – The Lady Cats got an easy 20 point win over District 4A opponent Wartburg before running into a AA Loudon squad that seems to have Oliver Springs’ number as the Lady Cats fell by 5. Coach Christopher’s girls will not have it any easier this week as they first must travel to Knoxville Webb on Monday to take on the superb Glory Johnson before hosting AAA Campbell County on Thursday. Then on Friday, the Lady Cats will get yet another chance to take down the Lady Redskins of Loudon as they welcome the AA squad to their home court.

Best of the Rest: Lake County (11), Greenfield (12), Santa Fe (13), Oneida (T-14), Scotts Hill (T-14), Cloudland (15)

ptguard12, you got a list of other teams just outside your top 15 that you're keeping a watch on? No explanations needed. Just wanted to pick your brain. Thanks

  11. Then go take it away from them.

Exactly! If a lesser team is ahead with 3 minutes to go and is disciplined enough to work an offense and hold the ball forcing the "greater team" to foul why should they be punished with a shot clock? The greater team should never have gotten down to begin with. Basketball has worked for years lets leave it the way it is. The only favorable argument for a shot clock is so that the fans can enjoy the game more. High school sports should not be about the fans. It is about the student athletes that are on the floor. Let them decide the game not a shot clock so you can be more entertained.

  12. Where is the game? and what time does it start??

    Thanks!

It's at Oneida and starts at 8:00 I think.

Greenback gains its strength on the boards. Rebounding wins games and that saying is definately true for Greenback. OS must keep them under control on the glass and try to contain Hammontree. Greenback must limit Christopher's transition points and pressure Greenback to get some easy buckets. But in all I think OS will out quick them to the championship. OS by 10 but I hope it's closer than that.
