WV was up almost 30 at the half on Grundy and dropped back and played zone the second half with everyone getting to play.

Bradley played riverdale in a scrimmage day a few weeks ago and got beat 62-17 or something like that. Nobody from 5AAA will make it to state.

If it was a 4 point game, that's a shocker in itself.

If that's true, I would hate it for the kids already on the team , not to mention its illegal.

A new point guard wouldn't make that much difference.

If you knew how the Miss Basketball award really worked you would be shocked. You have to lobby the other coaches to vote for your kid. If you dont have many "friends" in the coaching ranks you wont win it. Some coaches wont vote for a kid simply because they may be on a rivals team. It should be stats and performance based and picked by a panel that doesnt involve current coaches. Right now some of the best players dont always win or even get enough votes for final nominations.

Yeah they did but the Smith girl is the one you can't replace right away. The freshman that played guard a lot last year is hurt from what I hear and some of the ones who will be freshman I've watched for a few years unless they got a lot better since summer ball I don't see them helping much til late next year.

As far as Cleveland, The Jury is still out. I would rather have the feeling that a team was going to be better than last season,play till Jan. and see how they have done. Some better teams in the state in years past havent even made it out of district or region because of upsets. I do feel in the next 2 years you will see much more balance across the state in talent level with not many "super" teams in AAA ball. State tournament this year will have some new faces and even more the next season.

Bradley had a team full of seniors last year that have moved on to college. They still will have good post play but may lack the same guard play. Who would want to be in a top 10 poll in October?

What a major disappointment McMinn's ladies team has been this season.

They dont have the scoring they had last season. Yes i agree..very disappointing.

Well Walker Valley got the rematch, tried the slowdown game and got the same result Bradley Bearettes winning 59-31. Too much size and quickness for the Walker Valley girls.

Championship Game has Cleveland vs Bradley.

I like Cleveland's chances in the championship game. Walker valley had the lead for awhile in that game against Bradley playing 9th and 10th graders,BCHS had only scored 6 or 8 points the whole first quarter. They did not look like a championship caliber team to me. CHS will match up experience wise and size wise allot better. If they use the same strategy they might pull off an upset. Even if that dont happen, I cant see BC beating a 1 or 2 seed outta the boro. I will pull for BC being a SE TN team though.

All the games have been very exciting.Cheap entertainment except for the drive down.

Having 4 or 5 seniors on the team will help more than anything. No seniors again this season. They have a lot of underclassmen and in AAA ball that usually means losses.

How many Jr's and Seniors does Walker Valley have? I was told only 2 jr's was dressed and played and the rest were all 9th and 10th graders cuz the rest are hurt. Central played Central Bball, coach pressed till the end of the 3rd .

Walker Valley defeats Red Bank tonight 56-38 . Red Bank has a undersized yet strong post player, maybe the best out of Chattanooga/Hamilton County I have seen at that position.

WV doesnt have many players (playmakers) on the field, but they may have more than CHS. From an outside view, CHS just doesnt have many athletes on the field. I am not sure changing coaching staffs will fix that.

Cleveland has had it's fair share of bickering, to the point that players have chose to go to other schools. It can be between players or parent's. Playing time or jealously about who get's to score a TD.

How long will coach Williams last...if owls dont make playoffs again? I for one think the powers that be.,.will give him a couple of years,the"young and inexperienced"excuse will not cut it this year.Owls have 25+ seniors(18 started last year)....so next year will be another quote"rebuilding year"for the owls,so what does everybody think?Owls only recently(10yrs ago)found success in football,so does the Ooltewah admin.hit the panic button or wait a few years,if owls lose every year? and I only say this assuming Ooltewah has a loosing season this year.If Owls kick some arse and make playoffs,then none of this really matters does it?

From experience, It will take OHS 5 to 6 years to even start to recover from a new school being built in such close proximity, if then. When you start sharing your players with other schools such as East Hamilton it has an devistating impact. Not just football, Basketball can withstand it better than other sports, but baseball and then on down the line will struggle for awhile. Also expect the booster money to dwindle way down. It makes it very tough unless you drop down several classifications.

Those are not the only schools or sport this happens in. Just gotta be smart about it.

Doesn't matter what any of us think, espn and school recruiters is all that matters. I think it's pretty cool. Bears will probably win but I bet it will be a close game.

They have enough talent to possibly go 10-0. One of the better receivers in 6A, Capable QB, Stable of Rb's with speed. Biggest question will be defense.

Great person and a great coach. I hope the few parents who wanted her gone are happy, she wont be replaced easily.

Is this the same Knox Catholic group thats playing as the UA Shamrocks in AAU/Travel ball? Seen them play if it is. Respectable team with some promise but had a hard time with the public school girl's I seen them play.

voltn, hard for me to believe Bradley is faster at RB. 10 and 11 for OR went to state championship as part of the 4x100 relay team. They can run with anybody. We don't have a fullback in our offense. Bigger at receiver, I will give you that. This game will be won in the trenches. Go Cats

Anyone that has played knows that track speed doesnt mean much in football when you have to cut,avoid defenders and break away. Fast feet and straight ahead speed may be two different thing's. First step quickness and lateral movement mean allot.

But I digress.......... Since CHS isnt in the playoff's the Bear's will be borrowing a few players for this game. That will be the suprise of the night.
