Why did coach Wood keep letters from schools away from Lance? Why didn't she tell him about schools that were calling. I can tell you for a FACT, that some of those parents of players you talk about had problems as well, including current players that you seem to think all loved her.

Good post givem6. Very observent as always. Denlron says he graduated from Sd almost 20 yrs ago and had a little brother play sports there. So why all the hatred to SD? Are you Coach Wood? Or Coach Woods new boyfriend? You know an awful lot about former SD basketball players. Some info (if true), about certain situations, that only someone directly involved would know. You seem bitter about Wood leaving SD and seem all to happy to tout your new school Ooltewah. You teach there now don't you? If you had won more than 4 games last year you might have kept your job. Funny you play down the fact that SD hasn't played anyone this year, but have 8 wins and you could only muster 4. You say they have done it with no new talent...well if that's true why couldn't you? I know, it wasn't your fault. I could care less what you did 5-6 years ago, with someone elses team, you ran that program into the ground Even if SD loses friday and goes to 8-1, it won't change anything. News flash- they weren't going to be undefeated! It's the big picture. You don't get that, what with all the petty mind games you played with your players and asst coaches. Hope everything is going well for you at Ooltewha and you got the help you needed.

If this were the "same talent" soddy had last year then why have they already doubled the win total from last year? b/c the addition of a new coach and new talented players has made a change. Have you even soddy play this year?? they have struggled in a few games but have still pulled them out. they find ways to win and either way you look at it, soddy is much improved from last year. Let me put this way, soddy is no Christian Heritage so ooltewah better be ready cuz soddy will be. Isn't Jackson Northside struggling this year?

This is exactly what i have been saying since last year. New coach bringing out the talent in the school!! that is the difference. no one believed us last year when we said that some of the best players in the school were playing church ball cuz they didn't understand the situation that was goin on at the school. the thing is that has been goin on for at least the last 6-7 years!

Don't underestimate the outside shooting of soddy. They have Rende but they also have McAlpin and Atchley coming off the bench. Both of those guys can light it up also. Their inside play is solid. Billy may be skinny but he can handle his own. it's kinda hard to shoot over and get rebounds over someone that tall no matter how skinny they are. they other post guys hold their own very well also!

i think im gonna wait to see how they do against Rhea before i make a prediction.

I totally agree with you. how could you as a player or coach just lose a game? also how could you as a coach tell your players to lose a game on purpose?! that's not really great coaching in my opinion and it makes their state run a complete joke!

this was the first game ive seen russell play and he is one heck of a basketball player but i thought on a few of those 8-10 ft jumpshots that he took he should have kicked it out for wide open 3's. he seemed to kinda force some shots sometimes, like he took a couple shots when he was being double-teamed instead of kicking the ball out to whoever was wide open. but i can't really complain about the kids playin cuz he's a baller and i can't wait to watch him again. just a lil "monday morning quarterback" thinking from me.

Nokona, i understand your position on soddy/ooltewah rankings except the fact that ooltewah got beat by double digits and soddy got a win. but i do notice that soddy moved up and ooltewah slipped so them being 5 and 6 is not too bad. almost a tie for 5th really (in my opinion)!

An exciting game , it came down to a 2pter at the foul line by McNeil with 2sec. left for Soddy to win 56-54. Soddy was down by 11 in the 4 th quarter, but scratched their way back along with missed free throws by RB. They are 7-0 BABY!!

See some of the more reasonable soddy fans have been trying to let outsiders understand why they didn't have success last year. What a difference a good coach makes along with good players actually coming out to play. it was the same way with football. the talent has always been in the school but sometimes not on the team and sometimes not coached well enough. Just wish the 2 new coaches had been there when i was in school.

nokona i understand what you are saying too but that is so subjective because of the fact that it changes so often. just a week ago ooltewah was ahead of soddy but now soddy is ahead of them in that category. it would be a lil more reasonable to compare their performances against common opponents.

Agreed! the only reason i pointed that out is cuz nokona has been using soddy's strength of schedule to ooltewah's strength of schedule as a comparison to who is better. i personally could careless about the strength of schedule. i look forward to both teams deciding who is better on the court.

I've never said anything about them being state champs or even getting to state. i know other SD folks have but i have a lil perspective

Actually, there are about 3 "church ballers" that are currently playing for soddy and they did just make the team. if you know nothing of the situation, then don't speak on it. all you need to understand is SD will be better this year b/c some of the talented players that didn't play last year are playing this year. Actually atchley never asked for a week off. he never intended on playing basketball b/c he is already involved in 2 sports (Football and Baseball). he was talked to by 2 bball coaches and coach weathers gave his blessing, so he decided to go play.

Where did you obtained these "facts"? your simple one-minded head?? HAHA! that is such a joke. they are more competitive? i thought we were talking academics? but if you wanna talk sports let's go ahead and compare soddy to hixson....please don't make me do it!! Is hixson and ooltewah, a national school of excellence? If not, then there is no way their test scores are higher. now i don't know for a "fact" if they are or not but i highly doubt they have higher test scores. Again, who do you know from soddy??

You have got to be kidding me!! i mean i thought you had at least a lick of sense until you made that statement! Pretty sure soddy is recognized as a national school of excellence and we also have some of the highest test scores in the county year in and year out!
