Well, I'm a certainly looking forward to Thursday night's game at the Lion's Den. But to step back and look at the big picture, have a listen at this. I have been watching these team in this county all season long. In other words, I am a sportswriter around here. The biggest thing, I have saw about Dresden in the probably 10 times I've covered them, is that they seem to be a very inconsistent ballclub. Katie Quinton has really turned it up in the postseason thus far, but up to this point, she was only gettting like 4-8 points a night. Bailey is probably the most consistent player on the girls squad, while Levister has been known to shoot in streaks and become a little foul happy, as well, at times. Sometimes, she is just too aggressive. Then, I look at Gleason. They have possibly the number two ballhandler in the county with young Kayla Hudson. Down the stretch Haley Hudson really became a team leader. Then, you've got Amy Suddath, Megan Price, Spain, and Wiseman, who have all improved or stayed the same this year. And look at the freshmen crop that comes in. They just finished an undefeated season in junior high. I wanted to show you all this to say, that give it two-three years, heck, it may be next year, and the LadyDawgs will be back on top again in the District.
Now, back to tommorrow night, I'm certainly looking forward to covering this game, and I believe Dresden can pull out a victory, but they must get the following:
A good night of rebounds from Alicia Austin.
Katie Quinton and Brooke Levister have got to be scoring threats.
Kelly Filtz has to come in off the bench, and help the team out.
Kaci Bailey has to control the tempo of her team's game, and the whole team has got to make good execution if they get even an inkling of an opening.
