It wouldn't matter if the whole state supported that last coaching staff.  Lack of discipline and work ethic by the head coach will never equate to wins.  Granted some assistants did put in time and kids responded but the kids never believed.  Change for everyone was a good thing - former coaches included. 

 

Time to move on and let this staff and this team have their chance.

Thanks justincase44. I've been loyal to every coach we've had in my 19 years. If you don't believe that dixie ask the people of Coffee County. 3,000th play by play broadcast is next week and over 2,000 have been Raider games from football, basketball, baseball, softball, middle school games and even a couple of soccer matches. I support our kids with all my heart.

To the jerk that wants to down this team I have a question. If you had a kid on team that went 0-10 would you get on here and bash him? I know the answer, it's is no if you are descent person. With that being said I wonder if your descent or not. You can talk big behind a screen name but everyone knows who I am. I'm the 19 year play by play guy for the Red Raiders and I believe in the players and coaches. Good luck with your negative thoughts.

This team believes in the coaches and the system. They will get better as the season goes along. Hollandsworth has a rocket arm so I'm looking for big things out the 6'5" passer. He showed he can run some as well in the jamboree.

With a new coach and new attitude around Manchester it should be an interesting year. Coach Ryan Sulkowski has been reaching out to the two middle school programs and that has been tremendous. There was a very large crowd at Friday's scrimmage, more than some of the home games last year. It's less than 2 weeks away from me beginning my 19th year of Raider play by play. I can't wait.

Yes I am a Coffee County fan and their radio broadcaster. So with that out of the way let me begin my rant. No Coffee County player made the team? OMG!! We finished 3rd in the state and Pitcher Brianna Jones led the state in K's and ERA and was in the top 5 in the nation in K's. WOW TSWA you must be kidding?

After missing almost missing the entire year last year because of illness I'm back calling my Lady Raiders action on the radio. Thanks to Dennis Weaver for covering last year's regular season. I'm sure he'll join me some this year. Game one vs Lawrence Co. tomorrow night at 7pm. www.wmsrradio.com

I think I read in the paper Weave was going with Breeden. Besides Weave is more of a sidekick for Breeden. I dont know if it is a requirement that the new coach has to be a teacher or what but my guess would be perhaps Edwards who teaches at the school might step up and have her husband Dale Edwards get involved. Dale Edwards was the previous Xtreme Edge and later Nighthawks coach that had all that success. He would be an excellent high school coach.

Weave could teach, he taught at Coffee Co. plus he has the 5 years as an assistant that is required. Sidekick? You have to kidding me? Weave can coach just ask Breeden.

Well said Coach. But as a former parent I wanted to say Good Luck and Great Job. I have said it before and I will say it again I am glad my daughter played for you for the last 4 years and you, and all of your players deserve the praise and success.

Teaching the game, how to throw this pitch or that pitch might have come from some pitching coach or camp, but the greatist compliment I can give you is about something else. It is the thing's you DIDN'T teach her.

You didn't teach her the game was more important than her faith and family.

You didn't teach her that her success is only of her doing, and not have anything to do with her teamates.

But most of all, even though it was not the best thing for wins and loses when mine was injured, you told me you were shutting her down to prevent her from hurting herself worse and that probably saved her career.

I don't know if it's coming out that way but that is the highest compliment I can give you.

I don't know if you will win it or not but I know you deserve to and I hope you do.
