    Wing-T

Did you ever think that maybe major college programs and the NFL have better talent than most high schools. The wing-t is a good high school offense because it can take advantage of high school defenses, and you don't have to have studs to be successful (although it doesn't hurt)

    Wing-T

Cleveland ran the wing-t during their string of wins in the mid-90's. Any offense is boring. It depends on who controlls it.
  3. Have there been any new developments since the story in paper came out yesterday? Actions taken by administration? Where does that leave the kids in all this?
  4. He's not in trouble. Can we get back to the subject at hand? Does anyone have any real inofrmation about actions being taken by the administration? And, if splanesbumblebee is correct, what will happen with gibbs football this season?
  5. Something about the coach of south-doyle being provoked into an argument by one of the Halls ball-boys.
  6. How did the billygoat get a picture of johnpaul?
  7. I heard just recently that Halls was going to switch to a Power-I offense. That should open things up to their kids' abilities. I think they'll capitalize on a counter to the powerback. Is that creative enough for ya?
  8. I think Halls has switched to a split-back veer offense. This should allow them to maximize the blinding speed that all the players posses. In all seriousness, Halls has never had a wealth of talented players. Yes there have been some over the years, but rarely on the same team. When they are together, then big things happen ('86, '92, '96).
  9. HHmmm.... so your saying maryville can't compete with schools who allow tuition students? or with schools who have kids from all over? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but doesn't maryville allow tuition students, and they come from places other than the maryville city limits? The real question is, how can schools who don't allow transferes and tuition students compete? All I'm saying is that when you're the best, go out and play the best. I will give maryville credit for getting morristown west and cleveland on their schedule this year even though I think maryville will both easily.
  10. What do you mean? They usually play alcoa, william-blount, and heritage. What more do you want?
  11. If coaches are using plays for just scrimmage purposes, then they're crazy. The point of a scrimmage is to test your stuff (scheme, plays, kids) against another team. It would be rediculous to schedule scrimmages and then try to "hide" what you've been working on all summer. Coaches may not want to show everything, but a scrimmage is where you see what you've got.
  12. Just heard that clinton had a rough time with oliver springs. 3 or 4 touchdowns to one. Don't know of the particulars.
  13. Did clinton scrimmage Jeff. Co.? If so, how did that go? It could be a good measuring stick for oliver springs to use.
  14. Halls played flat. Things certainly looked bad for the home team.
  15. Are seriously trying to compare Halls and wartville?
  16. Of coarse, bluedemon2 failed to mention that Halls has had only one losing season since 1968, and that they've only missed the play-offs once or twice in the last 10yrs. They've beaten sevier co. 3 out of the last 4 years (including the bears' 5A state championship year), and they're one of the few teams who can say that they've beaten maryville this century. Other than that, there pretty much a lousy program. (I hope you note the sarcasm in the last sentance, I'm laying it on thick)
  17. WHAT??!!??!! Say it ain't so, Say it ain't so.
  18. Yeah, I heard that guy from sevier co. even published a book about defenses.
  19. Goat, to be such a maryville fan, you sure know alot about Halls, clinton, and carter. Not to mention wrastlin'.
  20. Weak physically or mentally?
  21. Back to the subject at hand... If the cobb guy was expelled from fulton then he cannot attend another knox co. for 1 year. However, if he was suspended, then he could transfere, but there would still be eligability questions. Was he suspended at the end of the year as to miss finals? If so, he may not have all his credits. If he transfered and moved to central's zone, then there has to be a change of address. Not just a change of residence. He's already established an athletic record at fulton. This could be a little tricky.
  22. I heard that Kevin Julian is close to 50 himself, and as far as I'm concerned Coach Black from carter is still a leading candidate for this job. He does have a history at powell. :justwrestle:
  23. Let's see... teacher, head football coach, county commissioner, small business owner. That's a mighty full plate. :justwrestle:
  24. Correction... I did really hear that 4AFan was not coaching this year. What's the deal?
  25. We're talking about a different coach black. That original comment was an inside joke for 4AFan and the billygoat. However, I did really hear that 4AFan was coaching this year. What's the deal?
