  1. I think it will be regular season class A and AA, not playoff classes as the cutoff..in that case I'm expecting a cutoff at around 525.

I wasn't aware that there was a different classification for regular season versus playoff classes. Where can one find those and will that show us where the 525 comes from?? I've seen projections from some TN sports writers showing a 361 cutoff projected for D1 "A" versus "2A". So this is NOT the number we should look at to determine what cutoff will be used to split up D2???
  2. ECS will again be hosting it's annual Girls JV tourney on December 19th thru 22nd at it's Legacy Center gym located at 7600 Macon Road, Cordova, TN. Entry fee is $180 and you are guaranteed 3+ games. Last year's participants included:

Collierville JV, Fayette Academy JV, St. Agnes JV, MHEA JV, ECS JV, Westminster, FCA Nighthawks, Brighton JV, Briarcrest JV, White Station JV, Bartlett JV, Louisville, KY and St. Georges JV. We will close registration once we reach at least 12 paid teams and no more than 16 teams.

  3. Who looked good at camp? I saw some teams that need a lot of work before season, but this was not a very good environment for players to do their best. What, 8 games on same floor? Hard to know which whistle (when it was blown) was for your court of others. Will say that by far, your Trojans look to have the most size of any team there.

Collinwood had good size as well.

  4. Why would anyone use a coin toss when they could use head to head record and then head to head net point spread amongst tied teams (with max of +-13)? Coin toss makes no sense when you could do this. What am I missing?

  5. Only room for one more team. Now have 11 paid teams as White Station JV is committed:

    *ECS (Evangelical Christian School)

    *Briarcrest JV

    *Collierville JV

    *St. Georges JV

    *Westminster

    *FCA Knighthawks JV

    *MHEA JV

    *Fayette Academy JV

  6. Dates of this JV tourney don't conflict with any of the large pre-Christmas Varsity tourneys in the area. One of the only opportunities to provide an opportunity for your JV team with a great field of competition. We are up to 10 PAID teams right now with room for only two more. This year's teams include:

    *Briarcrest JV

    *Collierville JV

  8. Tryouts for the 16U D1 Team Memphis Elite National Exposure Team will be March 8th and March 10th with the final tryout on March 22nd. This team was one of the top teams in the nation last year playing up in 16U divisions as a 15U team. If your daughter is extremely talented and a major D1 talent, then have her contact either Coach Joe Cooper at 901-240-6368 or Coach Jeff Little at 901-277-1444. All players from last year's team are returning so spots will be limited on the D1 team but players will also be evaluated/considered for the D2 team as that coach will be in attendance as well.

  9. Thanks Tammy! We won the 15u AAU state and this same young group was runner up for the 16u state championship. Finished #9 at 15u Nationals which was an under achievement (one bad game against a hot shooting team can derail you--kids gotta know they must bring it every game). Just finished up at the Basketball on the Bayou Event which draws a much stronger list of teams than AAU Nationals and lost in the Championship game in a close one to the GA ICE. Tammy, you should google GA ICE just to see the number of professional athletes whose daughters all play on this one team!!

  10. QUOTE (bballrebounder @ Apr 23 2009 - 01:31 PM)

In 14U, Team Pride, Memphis Elite, and Tennessee Xtreme are always good teams and have showed that in the last several years, but this year, the Tennesse Flight Freshman should win the state. This team is one of the best teams at this age that I have ever seen. They have girls from all over the state and many of them have already been great players at their high school. I have watched several of these girls play on different teams for the last few years, and now that they are playing together, it is really fun to watch. They have the size, quickness, athletic ability, and talent to play any team in this age group in the country and win.

I believe this may be the best AAU State Tournament of all ages. The Flight Freshman are the team to beat with alot of talent size and speed. The Memphis Elite will also have the talent and with the old FCA Coach Little and staff don't be suprised if they pull the upset of the Flight Freshman. The Team Pride play together as a team real well and don't make alot of mistakes so they could slide in at the 3 spot. The Xtreme have some new players who I think are going to make them better if they can put it together but I don't see that happening before the State tournament starts. However the last 2 years they have won it all by playing hard and the coaches getting the players to believe in the game plan. This year could be 3 teams playing for 2nd place but no one beats the Flight Freshman.

This one lived up to its billing with 4 teams being exceptionally strong and the 4 others being the high caliber teams you would normally expect to see compete at state. Definitely one of the best state tourneys of all time.

    Semi-Finals

TN Flight beats Team Hustle (I believe by single digits)

Team Memphis Elite defeats TN Xtreme 96 to 66

    Consolation Game

Team Hustle defeats TN Xtreme (I believe by single digits)

    Championship Game

Team Memphis Elite defeats TN Flight 69 to 67
