Looks like another great coaching job from the Hall of Famer Nick Waggoner. He deserves all the credit for the team's success every year. He is a great motivator and an excellent all around coach. He is an excellent teacher and can convey the fundamentals of the game in a way no other coach can do it. His talent is always lacking but some how he always gets the best out of his players.

fact is, the two best teams in TN history are from the middle(TNFC 88 and 90).

AGREED, nd thats all that matters, these two teams have given TN soccer more recognition than all the other teams combined (along with tn '90 odp)

hahah..yes alexander..TNFC 90 will do better then they have before(hopefully) and i dont see TNFC 88's going as far..but i see them advancing to the quarters..mayb the semis...

he wants a harder schedule but he was all about trying to get brentwood in trouble when they traveled down to Alabama to play one of the best teams in that state. So does he really want brentwood to have a harder schedule or does he just want to post in every topic to give brentwood a negative image...

 

IF you want a hot tip Bruinsoccer about something to bash on brentwood, rumor in the hallways are that theres a girl on the colorguard team thats on roids... Pull out the last yearbook and compare the colorguard '04 photo from page 124 to the Winterguard '05 photo from page 125 and it obvious, her stats show that she is throwing her flag 5 feet higher than last year ( i also hear she could even be a good replacement as a linebacker) ... That is if you really do have any relation to brentwood then it shouldnt be to hard to get the yearbook. Those rumors should keep you happy for a while

honestly, Crush Arsenal 90 did take tnfc to overtimes last year at the state cup. This year is differnet b/c TNFC took brandon tarr from the crush. Also they took ozzie(last name?) and daniel tackling from the ultralions. They also picked up partick kelly from a younger age hendersonville team(i think). TNFC will no doubt win state this year and will do a good job of competing at regionals this year!

Also the 18's will not lose at state no matter what. Enough said!!

i disagree, look at Bearden, they had to learn how to 'mesh' this year and they did so by playing hard games and learning as they went.

Playing a harer schedule for a new team is essential because it makes them work hard consistently and forces them to make runs or to pass. Playing a weak schedule for a fresh team is hurtful because the team will get used to playing at a lower level and never realizing how they have to play when they hit the 'big boys'

I think Brentwood should puh for a hard schedule next season and see how they turn out.

we have been trying to push our coach into a harder schedule for the past 2 years....itll happen when he wants it to. Brentwood wont be as strong next year as pervious years and this will be a rebuilding year for them and i look to see how well they actually do

So hard to predict, but I definately don't think Brazil will repeat. US will obviously have a tough time getting out of the group, but I think they can do it. If they get 2nd in the group, I believe they will have to play Brazil (assuming they win their group) in the first knockout round. No way the US goes on from there. Some of my favorites are Holland, Spain, and Portugal.

USA will get beat early and hard..too bad i wish they could do better with their #4 rank!!!!

Its not that MUS didn't capitalize on opportunities, they just didn't have any. It was 4-0 not a one or two goal game. It was 3-0 at halftime. The game was clearly BGA's and anyone who disagrees spent too much time watching the Brothers game.

it's going to be a very close game that goes down to the wire. having seen both play live i'd have to go with bearden, but i said the same about the houston-h'ville game. that said hendersonville won't out physical bearden. i'll take bearden in pks.

bearden will not win this one, hendersonville is too good. MIDDLE TN STATE CHAMPS 2 YEARS IN A ROW!!!!!

Brentwood is the defending state champion and is bringing back a lot of the team. They are in a prime position to reclaim their state title.

 

Farragut is coming off of a year where they are losing a lot of seniors and are going to have a lot of new starters.

 

Brentwood's easy schedule did nothing to help Brentwood prepare, nor to keep a mental focus needed to win state.

 

Farragut's tough schedule made them a better team all together and helped them to make state. Without the tough schedule, this team most likely would not have made it this far.

i know you think it was a "prime position" to repeat but brentwood did lose 7 starting seniors with one of them being the all-state mvp. Those were hard to replace and had to have young players step up and those young players didnt play with the heart of the older ones this year and that is what made them weak. In no way does their schedule matter b/c houston is a great team but they lost in the first round just like brentwood and they both play different schedules.

Also, brentwood plays all the good AAA teams around them without traveling 300 miles to play. The reason they dont play teams liek bga, mba, and cbhs is because the brentwood coach doesnt think that playing those schools will make a difference. I agree that brentwood should play those teams but they sometimes dont want to travel every weekend b/c they have to worry about something called...school!!..The place where you make grades and learn stuff..

i dont think there are any national players on the '88's.

 

a lot of people have said that the '90s and '88s of tnfc are the best teams to represent TN and rightly so. also, people have been saying that they pick up a lot of talent and dont develop. they might pick up players,but the core of both of those teams has been together for a good while. i know for the '90s have been a great team since they were 10 years old. i dont know as much about the '88s but im sure its the same with them. so no, development isnt thrown out the window totally, just to some degree. the reason these teams are so good is not only because they have a lot of talent but also because they play so well together and gelled easily.

chaos11...you hit it right on the nose..the 90's have been playing for the same coach for a long time and still have 10 or more players that are at the "core of the team"

i was dissapointed in bearden's performance but it doesnt matter, then got passed them and are on to thje state finals which i would love to be in their position

hendersonville looked bad at the very beginning of the game vs. farragut b/c of a few mistakes by moore but they quickly picked it up and never looked back..they are my favorite in this one and i see TJ shutting the bearden attack down and bolt putting 1 or 2 away in a hendersonville win..

2-0 h-ville!!..middle tn wins the title 2 years in a row!!!

Who on '88 is playing on any national team?

the 89 TNFC team isnt that good even with daniel. The fact of that is the 90 team beats them almost everytime they play them with him so we shouldnt worry about the 89 team b/c the 3 other national players have never played for them b4 so it wouldnt be that much different than normal. The biggest thing they should worry about is that taylor preston is out and dont count them in for regionals b/c they would be lucky to win state!!!

TNFC 88 are really good because they have guys who have played together for a long time and also have picked up a few other players from diff cities and they freaking got 2nd in regionals last year so everyone should join the bandwagon..they dont just have to have national team players across the board to be good, remember its a team game and the best TEAM wins which could, or could not have national players..

TNFC 90 have recruited from all over the state to basically pick up an all star team and they look quite strong and cant wait to see them play in state and regionals, and possibly nationals!!..

Ooltewah had one decent player, #11. Ridgeway had a lot of scoring opportunities and just didn't put them away.

#11 is daniel tackling and is very speedy, quick and has a good knack for the ball

Three, actually...and four out of the past five.

TNFC 90 and 88 are the best teams by far. Tnfc 88 placed 2nd in regionals last year only losing to Dallas Texans who went on to win Nationals. They are a great team and Lowder is amazing, its just that the real brentwood team didnt show up against bearden. The big fault is that brentwood was trying to overcome injuries and they havent been playing people in the right positions all year and it came back to hurt them. Hats off to bearden for dominating them.

TNFC 90 has grown ever more since last year picking up 5 new players with brandon tarr(bradenton), daniel tackling(ootlewah), ozzie(last name?)(lives in georgia), bo godwin(lives in bama), and patrick kelly(hendersonville). Tnfc 90 sure looks strong this year and frommy you are right that brentwood is very young. 4 of their starters are sophomores who all play for TNFC 90.

Overall the next cppl of years for TNFC teams are strong and also the TNFC 89 team has 5 national team players that danile kelly is bringing from bradenton so they look quite strong also.

Donovan is our best player and will step up and be the leader in the Cup. and josh wolfe should be eddie johnson's back up.

The US struggled in the attack and were not taking shots when they were getting opportunities. The us needs Donovan up top to take other players on or do a better job getting him more involved in play. I know that it was only a friendly but if we don't improve greatly we are going to struggle to getting into the 2nd round. John O'Brien struggled from not playing in Europe and Reyna's leadership was missing most of the match.

i feel like Reyna is a bit washed up and i also feel that dempsey should start because he is the player who can completely change the pace of a game when on the ball. anbody agree or disagree??

the brentwood rightback can float about 40 yard passes to lowder all day

you are correct, but for brentwood to win they have to get production from their midfield. This has been the weakest with a strong goalie anchoring their defense and Lowder and Hudson up front putting everything away. Brentwood will have to play to the top of their game to defeat a tough and peaking bearden. Should be very fun to watch, but the best game is houston and hendersonville.

I will say this, it is a task that is easier said than done. He has a knack for being at the right place at the right time. Good soccer mentality.

it is just my opinion, I have not seen either of those two play this year so it is based on a guess.

I just think that Houston had a great team last year and according to Bearden players that talked about the Houston/Bearden game Houston is very very good.

my prediction is that the winner of the hendersonville and houston game will be in the finals against the winner of bearden brentwood
