Both have a lot of athletes. NS probably has more offense, but it looks to be at times for entertainment purposes and not getting the win. Not much effort on D. SS depends on defense, and their teamwork is better than NS. I am impressed with the 6'5" ? Chism kid from SS, he has improved greatlyin the last few weeks. A good summer of learning how to shoot with his rebounding and defense he will become a force. NS 74 - SS 71.

What was the difference in the 1st 3 qtrsand the 4th? someone foul out, press, ???
-
IMO HC by 8 or more! HC has changed the way they play and they are pretty good.

Muffin if you were not as cheap as a $1.00 a gallon bottle of perfume you would be a plus member also.
Opperman help me join in a chorus of a Brad Pasley song: I'm gonna miss her.............Looky there I gotta bite!!

Muffin IF your that good, you can do it again. IF not we will all be watching!

Don't take this the wrong way, but a fact is a fact. I can not see why D. Walker from Milan made All west Tn. Yes he had 36 catches. He dropped that many easy balls right in his hands. He made the great catch but could not catch a ball, when he was wide, all by him self open. Had Walker caught just the balls he was supposed to have caught, G West would have been the QB hands down. Yhe Beasley kid bailed Milan and Walker out being a reliable possesion reciever along with some great catches of his own. I bet @ the end of the year Milan coaches woud say if they had to have a catch for a 1st down, it was going to Beasley.

You will soon hear and see what I know. Trust me Lexington will win 11AA, Milan no better than 2nd or 3rd.
-
Maplewood held their own with the 2 best outside of Memphis from West TN. I saw you guys play Giles and the other scores indicate you were in the thick of things, just like you will be later on. Good Luck, I enjoyed watching your team.

Lexington will win 11AA regular season and tourney. Camden may end up 3rd in the regular season, but may finish 2nd in the tourney. Given that if Lexington can beat Southside on their home court in the semi-finals of the regon, assuming Bolivar wins that disrict and SS is 2nd in the tourney, that is Lexington's chance to get to substate. Beat SS.

GC girls won the tourney in a very close game over trenton.

Shooter I agree, the Brentwood case has changed the whole thing. The bus thing is null and void, besides they paid for that. The fight was paid for with the playe suspensions. C. Jones was not Butch's fault, they had the OK. That leaves the Scrimmage in which the only problem with that is DC was possibly on probation when they should not have been, per Brentwood, to begin with.
-
Pretty much agree. Did not watch but a 1/4 of the girls, but Russell is hard to beat in a close game.
Milan boys came out up 23-19 after the 1st and got up 10 mid-way thru the 2nd 30-20. The Dotson kid for Humboldt was in foul trouble with 3 and freshman K. Rose got some easy baskets. Dotson took Cagle outside and drove by him and scored or dished @ will. It looked like Milan became satisfied after getting up 10. Humboldt tied it 32-32 and it was close until the last couple of minutes, Milan subbed and the score spread. Looked like Humboldt just wanted it more. Milan was hurt that Rod Smith has not been with the team for a week. He has been out of town. Milan missed several point blank shots that could have meant the difference.

There were more quality athletes in the DC tourney than any I have been to in the last few years. I have been to a few. Today I went to Martin for a while and then to DC and then to Humboldt. DC, Giles, Maplewood, Bolivar, Melrose, Ripley, Covington and JCM. Most of the starting 5 of any of these could start for most any team around. It must have been the distance, but I was disappointed in the support from the local media(Jackson Sun) and some teams had very little fan support.
-
Shooter I did not really understand the 8th grader on the bus deal anyway. The kid in ? was attending a DC feeder school and lives in the DC school district. What is the burg upset about? All fights should recieve the same penalty. What did Obion get? C. Jones did his time. The scrimmage is a problem.
Enough to make a coach resign, I doubt it. I don't think this battle is over. Since Brentwood won their battle and I think Dyersburg and others will suffer also if it happens, there may be a penalty, but I don't know about a forced resignation.

JCM lost to Ripley, Giles beat Covington all I know
-
JCM loses to Covington by 3. Giles County by 10 over Ripley. T Smith decided he wanted to play in the 4th quarter. He had 12 @ 1/2. He went for a lob in the 3rd and got tangled up with a Ripley player, hung on the rim, in which turned him a flip and almost landed on his head. He then dismantled Ripley in which @ that time had a 5 point lead on GC. Smith had well over 30 coming out 3 min. to go. Bolivar was leading Melrose early by 10.
@ Gibson Cty tourney Humboldt over Trenton by 6 or 8. Milan beat Gibson County by 30 or more. Kyle Shannon put on a clinic for point guards. He had 11 points, lost count @ 12 assists, several steals, deflections, etc. and played probaly 2-1/2 quarters. Humboldt vs Milan tomorrow night, for the Championship get ready ro rumble!
-
Yes I know both. Not very well, but I do know both.
-
Mostly jackson/Milan
-
I saw (scores are close)Melrose beat Covington 93-47, Giles County 60-47 over Maplewood, and DC barely got by much improved JCM by 3 65-62 ( all scores are what I remember but would not guarantee. Gibson County over Bradford also, score would only be a guess. pen and paper tomorrow.
ps DC was w/o Byrd tonight as he missed practice MON, TUES and shoot around today, but did watch from the bleachers

I agree Mike you have good and bad every where if you look hard enough, but most of the time it takes less effort to find the good, because they do not call attention to themselves. You and I will meet someday, sounds like we have done so much of the same volunteer work. Keep it up!

Kenia I made the mistake. I corrected it asap. It had nothing to do with Gomab's "unofficial " poll. It was corrected before his poll came out. I apologized once to Halls and will not continue to do so. I am not a fan of Halls, Mitchell, or Trenton, just a basketball fan. I have seen Halls play Obion, Trenton and Milan, Trenton and Humboldt as far as those 3 schools go. I will say this, after reading your posts, that represents your team, and posts about Mitchell, Trenton appears to have more class than both of you put together. With that in mind, GO TIDE!
PS If you do not like Gomabs poll, create your own, make Halls #1, even when they lose 2 games, and make yourself happy. Stick that in your stocking, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It was Mitchell. I was listening on the radio and the guy kept saying Halls. I knew it was Mitchell, I guess the radio guy brainwashed me or something. How stupid! My humble apologies to Halls.

There was no 3 pt line when Bill Cook played. I would vote for Elgin Baylor, who most of you probably have never heard of , but was voted 1 of the 50 greatest players in the history of the NBA.
