  1. Well study hall is over and it is time for my Driver's Ed class so I will be back in two shakes and a shiver of the tires.
  2. Hey nasty the reason those guys won championships in their respective proffesions is that they recruit very well (Tressel) and they pay players very well (Gruden). Now taking that into consideration, wouldnt you also think Helton is pretty dang cute rather than Catlett. I mean, remember Catlett was complaining about our kicker not having a butt pad during the game last year and CATLETT is the one who made the early exit IF my memory serves me correctly.
  3. BOATS, I stand corrected. You are correct in that the QB did play in that game. I was mistaken. I can admit when I'm wrong . However, it was his first game back from a shoulder injury that had kept him out. I had thought he came back the next week but my sources tell me I was wrong. Dunno how to give ya good mark on here but if i did i would but i cant so i wont have a good one.
  4. What in hogs heaven are you talking about. I sure hope to goodness you are female, and if you are heaven help us all. You dont win ballgames by your looks.
  5. Rumor has it ole Shep is gonna run the Fun-N-Gun offense this upcoming season. Cant wait for spring practice to start to see this offense spread all over the field along with the football. I just hope coach has the confidence of getting the ball in my hands often during the games. GO REDDEVILS!!!!!!!!!! [Edited by reddevilfever on 4-14-03 9:40A]
  6. Halls will be back in the playoffs this year mark my word on it and take it to the bank. I agree that Maryville and Central will be in also. However, I'm not quite sure who will be the 4th team in the region. If Powell can find 3 RB's to replace Milligan then they will be in, OR if Carter can put together two 3 win seasons in a row or better then they will make it. MY MONEY IS ON POWELL. GO REDDEVILS!!!!!!!!
  7. Well phs you are correct Central did beat Halls without Zach. However, if you go back and look the QB for Halls did not play, the running back did not play because he was playing varsity and 2 linemen did not play because they were playing varsity. As for flyinpro, yes the QB can throw the ball, and he can run. Look for Sheppard to open it up every now and then.
  8. shs01, I have done a little research regarding the pay scale difference for football and soccer coaches in Knox Co. Soccer coaches get 13 1/2 % which with 5 years experience is about $3949.00 , whereas football coaches get 25 % which top pay would be about $7313.00. However at my high school I know for a fact that the football coach is responsible for mowing the game field and the practice field. The soccer coach does nothing except show up for practice and games. Now, I am not saying that all coaches or schools are set up this way but doesn't this seem a little unfair? The soccer coach even has a parent that lines the field off instead of doing that himself. Again this I am sure is not typical of all soccer coaches and maybe this is the only case like this.
  9. I was not disagreeing with you one IOTA as far as soccer coaches need to help take care of the field. I TOTALLY agree. And I APPLAUD that you help the fine coaching staff of the Bulldogs with the field. However, there are some soccer coaches in Knoxville that have had a soccer field built for them and have not used it one time since it was built about 2 years ago. They still use the football field for games and the football practice fields for their practice. Maybe it is me but isnt that just a waste of money to have the soccer field built and paid for and never use it? Again no offense to you or your staff as I am VERY familiar with Middle Tennessee schools. However I am not a coach in Knoxville. Thanks and GOOD LUCK this year.
  10. Same pay? Not hardly pal. first of all you are correct in that football coaches have 100 kids compared to your 35. BUT, HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND OUTSIDE of soccer season training, lifting weights, camps, ect.,ect. Also, you might want to brush up on your spelling because the word crouds is actually spelled crowds in East Tennessee , and also beeing is spelled being. And on top of that the pay is not that much different for a football coach than a soccer coach. NOW if you are making less than a football coach it probably has something to do with teaching experience. [Edited by reddevilfever on 4-11-03 1:12P]
  11. Just so everyone in Knox County knows, The RED DEVILS will be back on top of the region this year. They have a very talented QB. Very hard and smart RB and a FB that will just flat out plow you over. Not to mention Coach Julian's DEFENSE will be as stingy as ever. Good thing Central didn't get their hands on these upcoming sophomores cause they will ROCK KNOXVILLE over the next couple of years.
