  1. Riverside won 28-6. They dominated the 1st quarter, as I think CCHS only ran 7 plays on offense. Golder and Ruggiano ran wild, as expected. The one thing I didn't expect was for Chester County to move the ball as well as they did... they would have likely scored another TD at the end of the 1st half if they had 30 more seconds. It was 21-6 at the half. Riverside looks pretty tough... their 3 senior backs are as good as the hype.
  2. Hey, someone else here thinks TCA will win this one. I must not be too crazy, then.
  3. That's a good question. I didn't see the game, and I must admit I was quite surprised when I saw the score. All I can figure is, Hardin County must not be as good as they were thought to be. Adamsville beat them in the jamboree, and now this... that's the only thing I can figure.
  4. Yes, darn your poles, MeanJean! Darn them straight to heck! Your north poles, your south poles... they all stink! GO FAIRVIEW!

    west tn week 2

I'm just an observing third party with a closer connection to JCS than many realize. Nepotism is hiring an immediate family member.

    west tn week 2

No... no, I think I know what I'm talking about, and Coach Ballard is a better coach. But the nepotism comment was out of line... sorry about that. [Edited by TheBoredGuy on 9-3-02 2:36P]
  7. In 6-2A? Nope. Elsewhere? Yep. Milan, Union City, and Westview will all be very tough games for the 'Stangs.

    west tn week 2

    - TCA @ JCS. I'm going out on a limb and taking TCA in this one. JCS lost way too much, both on the field and on the sidelines (edit: editorial comment removed); TCA is getting better every year. It'll be close, but TCA will notch their first win over the cross-town Eagles. TCA 22, JCS 20. - Haywood @ Northside. Yikes. Neither team has looked all that impressive so far, although Haywood stuck with Westview a lot better than I thought they would. Still, NS isn't as bad as they showed last week, are they? The loss in week one will serve as a wake-up call to the Indians. Northside 27, Haywood 17. - Southside @ McNairy. Last season was a learning experience for the young Hawks, who came on strong to end the season. I'm not convinced McNairy was able to cover the holes left from their seniors last year. They may prove me wrong, but until then... Southside 24, McNairy 20. - Westview @ Milan. Rod Smith versus Rafael Hill. Man, I wish I could be there. Milan 28, Westview 27 [Edited by TheBoredGuy on 9-3-02 2:31P]

    MEANJEAN

I'd love to know how Coach T responds to your little request. I've got a funny feeling that you won't like it.
  10. So if you haven't seen MeanJean's poll, how do you know yours will be better? And in response to MJ's question, my answer? You can never have enough MeanJean.
  11. Riverside looked pretty good against Crockett County last Friday. IIRC, they ran out of the I with a slot back most of the time. That might not be exactly right, since there were 8 teams there and I might be mixing and matching Don't know what Lexington has, but I'm taking Riverside to win it.
  12. I saw Haywood play McNairy at the jamboree. They had a lot of difficulty running the ball, but had some success putting it in the air. They took it downfield 70 yards in about 1:30 at the end of the game. They looked alright... hard to tell in a jamboree of course, but I like Westview to win this one. Let's say 38-13.
  13. I heard West Carroll beat Camden 20-7.
  14. No... thank YOU for your unmatched contributions this, the CoachT.com community.
  15. I, personally, enjoy the score predictions the most. Ezell-Harding Christian 50, LORETTO 1 - So I guess Loretto will kick an extra point without scoring a TD. Donelson Christian 32, GREENBRIER 4 - Wow, two safeties in one game? I didn't see Bruceton on 1A, either.
  16. MeanJean, I want to take a brief moment and offer you a word of encouragement. Do not be disheartened by the unsightly bashing your official pre-season poll has received in this thread. The work of a genius is often times critized in more depth than the work of an idiot. You, sir, are a true asset to the CoachT.com community, not to mention the Fairview High School Marching Band. Please, keep posting your polls and blasting that tuba with pride... YELLOW JACKET PRIDE!
  17. Whoa, be careful there, nonews. You don't want to get the Greenfield fans on you this early in the season, do you?
  18. I have but one thing to say after seeing MeanJean post. *dresses up much like Keanu Reeves in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure* FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Does anyone have the dates and matchups for the Sports Plus Jamborees?
  20. Interesting. I compliment Union, you knock Freed. Very nice. There's no doubt Union is the class of the TranSouth. No doubt at all. But don't forget, the two years previous to last season, the ladies split the regular season matchups. One of the problems last year was the fact that FHU didn't play near the level of Union's aggression in either game. In order for FHU to get to that level, the next level, they've got to match that type of aggressiveness. And the class they have coming in this year is, by all accounts, made up of the type of players who can do that. I've got nothing against Union's teams. I've known both Coach Campbell and Coach Turner from their days at Lipscomb, when Mark played and Ralph assisted Don Meyer. I have nothing but respect for both of them, and nothing but respect for their programs. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about all their fans.
  21. I don't think Christy ever really fit in with the environment at Freed. There's some speculation thrown in there, but I feel that it's also pretty accurate. I hate to see her go... she could flat-out play. And at least she didn't transfer to Lambuth All in all, though, I'm excited about the coming season. The Lady Lions will be very young, but the class we got in is also very aggressive, and that's what we need to compete with Union. Losing Leah Holcomb hurt, obviously. It also hurt to lose Tosha Gardner, probably more than most people will realize. Tosha didn't have a great season offensively last year, but she was an excellent defender and rarely made a dumb mistake with the ball. Holly Milligan rarely played, so I don't think her leaving will affect us much. There will be some growing pains in the 02-03 season, no doubt... but when I look down the road and see what we could have over the course of the next 3-4 years, I get pretty fired up.
  22. ... you check each day to see if you've gotten any new "good marks".
  23. McKenzie lost a lot. This is most likely going to be a rebuilding year for them. Huntingdon's going to be good again this year, probably back near the level that they usually enjoy after a down year (for them) last season. I expect to see Milan with a strong squad - they were pretty young last year. If you want a "darkhorse" team, I think Riverside has a chance to make some noise if everything clicks for them. They had some good skill players last year that will be back. Depth is a question mark, though.
  24. Lee Burklow played at Freed-Hardeman... no clue what he's doing now.
