  1. First of all, before I had a stroke in August 2014, I was involved in the football and basketball programs at Ooltewah High School for 30 years. Two people who have replied in this thread know who I am face to face (baconbreath and RedRebels)  I don't know everything about what is going on, the authorities in Sevier County knows the most of anybody.

On hardships, kids can transfer from failing schools and if the school doesn't offer a particular subject, they can transfer to a school that does. Ooltewah offers German, not too many schools offer that. There maybe more things, but that is one that I do know. In regards of the case, I'm gonna let the authorities in Sevier County fill me in what is going on. Everything else out there is conjecture at this point. I'm not defending these actions, but any comments from me is just my opinion and I don't know enough to comment.

  2. Great game for sure, and I think the Owls will put it to Rhea next week. I think some we had a night off with some key players, and I would take a backhanded shot at play calling, but that's a dead horse. Best team last night won.

Tips for the Owls press box - Tell the name butchering announcer to stay home next week. Get you somebody that has had a basic phonics class, has done it before, leave the darn cd at home, and since most of us are football fans - clue us in on ALL the scores. He was a hack.

If #7 is the "all caps" poster - good game. I see what all the talk was about. Seemed like 11 and 5 were standouts also.

He was a substitute announcer, he is normally Apison High's announcer.

  3. WELL COME ON BACK! WHY NEXT YEAR?? IM STILL GON BE AN #OFL AND I LOVE THE HATERZ. THAT'S WHY HUMBLE PIE IS AVAILIABLE..#LOP

I am still recovering, walking is still a problem. I have to be either in the pressbox or on the sidelines. I don't think they would allow me on the sidelines with a walker.

  4. NO ONE WILL EVER BE CONFUSED WITH PA. JUST BECAUSE YOU POP UP ERR NOW AND AGAIN DON'T MAKE YOUR OPINIONS VALID. PA LOVE DEM OWLS AND I SAY NICE THINGS WHEN THEY ARE RECIPROCATED. #LOP #GOOWLS #4AAAAA #BIGBOYFOOTBALL! !

You wish I was back, nothing would make me happier than to be back in the press box, hopefully next season. All I was saying is that wingman isn't a raging hater like some people on here.

  5. It was games like this that gave me a wierd feeling in my stomach, I can't get a feel on this game at all. The last time I remember Rhea County was an Ooltewah homecoming opponent was 1986, Andy Kelly's senior year, and it was 21-7 that night. That was during the bad old days of Ooltewah football. I miss going against Coach Horton, his teams played hard and were so classy, plus pretty darn good (state AAA finalist that year I believe) I wish I could be there, but glad it will be on TV,

  6. Glory, McMinn County is in a district that includes Hamilton County schools (at least in AAA), why would they not be included?

LadyMustangCoach, baconbreath would be the perfect person to talk to about this, he has seen a lot of girls basketball in his time. But you are on the right track about Hamilton County Middle schools, they only have a 6 week season and that is it. Players don't improve with just games and having a handful of practices in a season just don't cut it. The only decent girls basketball in Hamilton County is Division II (GPS and Baylor), Division i has been bad for about 20 years.
