  1. Oh those Crimson colored glasses, there were no gifts handed out by West. Its not like a ball was pitched and the RB just didn`t catch the ball, JC defenders forced those turnovers, don`t you dare try to minimize the reasons JC won. You want to talk about gifts, how about West getting the ball knocked out at the goaline and recovering it in the end zone. Yes a lot of JC pts came off turnovers, but those points were earned, and the turnovers were forced with timely well placed hits.

    JC4life,

Not everyone sees it that way. I am a huge Morristown West fan, and I have no problem saying that Jefferson County won because they earned it. They forced those turnovers and took advantage of them, that is what good teams do. I also want to congrulate #54 (Yeary) he played one of the best games I have ever seen a high school linebacker play. It seemed like he made every tackle.

Good luck to Jefferson County on the rest of their season. The Trojans are working hard to re-group and I believe they will. We don't need to make excuses when we get beat.

  2. Hey, real CLEVAR!

You know, you can be a fan of your school and show some respect to other teams as well.

Coach Hatcher IS a heck of a coach. But you're one of the biased ones I spoke of...

I never said he wasn't a heck of a coach. He has done a tremendous job at East, and he is a great coach. I was simply referring to the fact that most of your recent posts seem to praise Morristown East and/or put down Morristown West. It seems to me you prefer the Canes. Maybe I am wrong.

  4. Excuse me. The way you were shooting off, I took it you were a Mo west fan. So I can see how some of those comments would not apply. But now I see you are a Mo East fan. Which considering how dirty they played last year is even worse. And yes the past does matter. Thats why they keep records.

And if you would learn to read and understand, no where did I say "if they would have scored more points".

If I were you, I wouldn't want to think about East's past record with JC either.

And also, I had Mr Peabody hop in his "Way Back Machine" to go way back to find the title you are talking about on the TSSAA website. Yeah 1969!!!! Ah the good old days. <_< Is that right??? It didn't list any play off wins past 69 either. Seriously Dude, is that right too???

You thought a guy with a handle of Canefan 72 was a Morristown West fan?

  5. well the no huddle offense is here to stay... we have the foundation of our new offense and defense and yeah big things are happening at greeneville and it will be different we will be bigger, much faster and a lot stronger

No huddle? Will that be from the spread?

  6. Lol thats funny, but when they won their state championship, was it before the schools split, or were they already split?

It was Morristown High School that won the State Championship. Morristown West didn't exist at that time. It would be awesome if they would combine back into 1 school here in Morristown again. It was solve a lot of problems IMHO. Think what kind of team a unified Morristown would have this year!

  7. QUOTE(Rebelsfan @ Mar 24 2007 - 12:25 AM) 826421402[/snapback]I am going to go out on a limb and say that Maryville just might win the 4A State Football Championship.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that when Maryville does lose again statements like these are one of the major reasons why many people on CoachT will celebrate!

  8. What a great game yesterday. Maryville played great. Brent Burnett threw the ball real well. Glad he is back next year. He should be one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Tyler Maples was the best player I saw all weekend. Shiver was his usuall self. Tyler Clendenen had some nice catches yesterday. Tank and Singleton ran hard. The offensive line blocked well yesterday. What a great team effort yesterday.

Defensively Maryville played great. Dwight Wood was awesome. The rest of the defensive line played well. What is so great about the defensive line is not only are they good. All of them except for Dwight Wood will be back next year. Tanner Caylor,Landon Hall and Travis Carpenter played well. All 3 of those guys will be missed. Secondary played well. Caleb Clement is a tough guy just like his brothers were. He is a warrior. I also like the fact that 3 of those guys will be back next year.

Another thing is Joe Pinkerton did an outstanding job in Jim Gaylors place of coordinating the defense. I loved the adjustments made. Especially in pass situations when Maryville goes to the nickle back.

What a Maryville fan is experiencing is something that doesn't happen very often. This run that is currently going on may be something that won't happen again. I am enjoying the ride because I know it won't last forever. How lucky as Rebel fans are we to have the great coaching staff that we have at Maryville? How lucky are we to have talented kids that are so commited to excellence? The answer is we are very lucky.

Sound advice RR this is truly unbelievable what the Rebs are doing. I know we here at Morristown West would give anything for just 1 State Championship!

  9. I don't hate Maryville, I do respect them and what they accomplish every year.

However, it is very frustrating to lose to them every single year (I root for Mo. West)! I also found Coach Blade's remarks very interesting. I have thought for some time that Maryville could compete with a lot of "big name" high schools around the country. It is interesting to hear that a coach thinks so also.
