  1. REGION 5-3A = CHAMPIONS!!!!!! There have been 6 teams from the region to win playoff games over the last three years.

You've mentioned Kingston but they do not have a playoff win in that time now do they?????? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

REGION 2-3A is just going to have to deal with all of the talking that we've been dealing with reading on here IN THE PAST. Remember that what goes around comes around!!!!

    FOOTBALL SEASON = OVER!!!!!

Have a safe and a Merry Christmas everyone and I look forward to having some more of these heated debates in 2008 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Let's talk about the last 5 years, a reasonable amount of time...2-3A = 4...5-3A = 1. Enjoy this 1...we'll see where we end up this time next year.

  2. It's time to put this to bed. Hopefully both DL & Fulton can meet again next year and then the saga can continue. Congratulations to DL enjoy it as we have the last two years. To my Falcons - unbelievable job. No one, including me thought we'd be playing in December. Remember how much this loss hurt and dedicate yourself to not feel this way next year.

  3. I had a birds eye view of it all and so did well over 2000 people. In your defense you could not have seen all that went on. The refusing to shake hands at first was just one of the many things. I was completely surprised by the action that several had. I was also very dissapointed. To be selected MVP and just before they call you name out sling your helmet and shoulder pads off. Accepting the MVP without your teams jersey on shows just how much respect he had for his team, his coaches, his school, and his community. He was not the only one. I know it was a hard time for the kids, but they had won it before and should know how to act. It was a direct reflection on everyone involved in the program including Knoxville.

4 my sister's comments couldn't be stated better. DL won and we congratulate them on that. If you had a birds eye view then you should have seen that Cobb had removed his jersey & pads coming off the field after the final seconds. This is something he has routinely done throughout his high school career (I should know I'm one of the 1st people on the field and it's to specifically see him at the conclusion of the game). I do agree he should have grabbed his jersey before going to mid-field, but he did have on a fulton t-shirt. If you don't remember that I can send you a picture. Every win is a new high experience and every loss hurts a little deeper. Especially when you know it's your last. Back off the kids...they left it all on the field and you should to.

  4. Road2three

If's happen alot in a loss. DL was asking those if's a couple times last year as well. If's mean nothing, but a loss.

I am more disappointed in some of the behavior of the team during the last few plays of the game and afterward. For a team that has experienced the Championship game before they lost composure.

Sitting in the area were many coaches were, I heard many and saw what they were talking about. The Falcons lack of class during the loss was obvious.

I would love to know what you think you know...having been on the sidelines from pre-game with the team until they were back on the bus to Knoxville I witnessed nothing but disappoint and sadness. The Falcons played hard right up to the last second on the clock, just like a good well coached team should. Poor behavior is not acceptable and would not have been tolerated by any Fulton coach.

  5. The deal is that they showed alot of class; nobody said that Fulton did not show any class. There is nothing wrong w/ complimenting a teams class, and also you can take that "gift wrap" excuse crap and shove it. Finally, like it or not DL's coaching staff did out coach Fulton's coaching staff on this particular day. That is not saying they are better coaches, but today they did a better job.....

Shove it really shows class...maybe you would have been "nicer" with we shot ourselves in the foot. Either way it means the same thing. DL coaching staff is working with a more experienced and proven team. Fulton's staff had to start the season with the loss of 22 seniors. They did an excellent job to get to the title game let alone compete. Both teams played with class...like it or not.

  6. Couldn't be prouder of this year's team. You overcame so much...losing 21 seniors (including Rogan), youth, and inexperience. You all worked so hard to make it to today's game (with a little luck along the way). There is nothing to be hanging your head about. You left it all on the field and that's all anyone can expect. Practice hard, work hard, train hard and next year you just might be seeing "GOLD."

To the seniors - let this be the start of the next chapter of your life.

  7. What's the deal with all the "class" comments? DL played a good game and made some big plays when needed. Fulton gift-wrapped several possessions that costed us the win. It was a good game between two great programs. That's where it needs to stop. Anyone who questions Fulton's class or coaching staff doesn't know what they are talking about. We're very proud of our team, coaches, cheerleaders, parents, and supporters. Who would have thought in August that we'd be playing in December. We've made an incredible run and just came up a little short. No Fulton Falcon should be hanging their head tonight...just start looking forward to next year and a trip back to the 'Boro.

  8. I sure hope a lot of Region 2 fans show up to support the Falcons. There should be plenty to cheer about. Two great schools, two great teams and two great coaching staffs. This game will definently be played with class and sportsmanship.

Leave it all on the field Fulton and you'll come home with one more ring.

  9. How is the kid that got hurt at the end of the game?? Anyone know i would appreciate to hear something he has our prayers from AC...Great season this year to both teams

Ken's doing fine. He was released last night from UT. Minor concussion at most. Should be back Friday to take on the Roadrunners. Thanks for the prayers. Everyone hates to see a kid go down.

  10. Hey bigmouth, just a reminder, if your coach coatney had any class, up 24 -0 late in the game, he would still have his cornerback for the big game this week against AE. AC didn't back up the big talk on offense, but that shotty excuse for an offense FHS puttered out isn't very good either. Here's an idea, try going on first sound so your sorry oline won't jump off sides. Carma, Coach Kerr deserves better than a bigmouth like you talking about a Tennessee Football Legend. How many games have you won? I bet it is close to the size of your IQ. IDIOT.

A win is a win and we move on you go home...those sour grapes won't make your whining (get it) any sweeter. I sure didn't see your oline doing any better = goose egg. I did appreciate the respect and sportsmanship the AC team/coaches/fans showed at the end of the game when Ken was down. Agreeing to call the game was the right thing to do.

  11. I hope you did play for the Falcon football team because if you only played baseball as your screenname would make it appear, you had a painful experience throughout high school (because that x3 you used above might have been the tally of your baseball victories) /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> .

A screen name is just that...not necessary a specific tie to any school or sport. Does it make feel better that I'm a mom? And not of a FHS student either. You know what happens when you assume. Oh yeah...way to go AE. We'll see you next week at our house.

  12. How can you live that close to Catholic and play at fulton are you one of many fulton player that live out of their zone. As for watering down the field as I remember we have alot of rain that week and most fields where in bad shape I was at the Carter and fulton game and Carter field was in bad shape. Stop making excuses both teams play on the same field and if you don't like playing on their field win your region and than you can play at home.

Who said I play or have played. I'm not complaining about playing on anyone else's field. I just think watering it down takes the home field advantage a little far. As I recall home field advantage hasn't really bought KC much in the last several years anyway. Win region, win state...we'll take State x 3.

  13. Right-they played in the second round last year-i didn't rub my hand on a "sideline saver"-i rubbed it on the bone dry grass on the field right in front of the side lines-in between the numbers was soaked and it WAS NOT from RAIN-and if you wanna talk about the refs-go back and look at the last spot during last years playoff game-the ref "normally" places the ball at his foot-well with about 2 minutes to play, when it was 3rd et 6-the ref went to spot the ball he bent over and instead of putting down at his foot he leaned to the right about 2 feet and put the ball down-KC got it by about 6 inches. those are all true facts you can look at the tape if you need to-i don't i was on the sideline et saw it with my own eyes. i know the deal about the field was correct also cause when we got off the bus and the field was sooo soacked i kept saying it hasn't rained in at least 3 days-like i said before it was classless-the best thing was KC got knocked out the next week-that's the only time i've ever rooted for Fulton.

    GO ROADRUNNERS!!!!!!!!

Seeing as though I live in a nearby neighborhood and could see the sprinklers running after the rain had stopped on several different occasions the week prior to playing Fulton. No more excuses KC. I don't root for AE...but sure will this week.

  14. I am amazed that Catholic has managed to engender such an active dislike in such a short space of time and to be honest I just don't understand it. I have been at three of the last four games between these two powerhouses and for me this kind of competitiveness, this kind of rivalry is what sport is all about. I have no idea who is going to win on Friday. I do know I will be entertained and that the kids will battle hard. Personally, I thought that was the whole point of playing.

Catholic didn't win any points last year when they decided on "their state championship rings" design prior to playing Fulton in the playoffs. Apparently they thought we'd just show up and give them the win. I agree with you on the level of competitiveness, that generally follows well-coached teams. It has turned into a nice rivalry that will continue Friday night.

  15. Football...that's what this forum is for at this time of year. It seems like posters are into attacking, name-calling, and making fun of people instead of football. I've read the posts for several years and have always enjoyed the good-hearted back and forth between two opposing schools. This year it hasn't even been worth my time. Grow up!

  16. haha if you only knew..we going to show the east what were all about

    hillsboro over maryville

    lipscomb over fulton

    goodpasture over alcoa

All anyone needs to do is look at strength of schedule and power rankings. I'm not saying DL doesn't belong there...I'm just saying they didn't play a very tough schedule to get there. Kinda like a Region 2 Carter team that goes 8-0 until they actually play a football team like Fulton.

    Go Falcons!

  17. Back-up QB Mark Montgomery is another transfer from Fulton but  he's a Roadrunner now :) .

    It's HARD being a Roadrunner!!!

I haven't heard anything yet so I'm going to ask you, is Cobb, Higgins, and Hamilton playing this week?

Hey KWALKER, You sending me another Powerpoint?

    825722437[/snapback]

  18. Fulton n Alcoa

will be the most anticipated game in the state I KNOW IT WAS LAST YEAR but i wathed the state championship game and there were no defense, im just saying we are always the underdog in every fight .

we have one of the toughest defences in the state
