  1. This thred has gotten into a personal bashing between certain posters. Enough is enough. It's time to close out this year's football season and move on to basketball. Again, congratulations to DL. Hopefully we'll see you again in Dec. '08.
  2. Let's talk about the last 5 years, a reasonable amount of time...2-3A = 4...5-3A = 1. Enjoy this 1...we'll see where we end up this time next year.
  3. It's time to put this to bed. Hopefully both DL & Fulton can meet again next year and then the saga can continue. Congratulations to DL enjoy it as we have the last two years. To my Falcons - unbelievable job. No one, including me thought we'd be playing in December. Remember how much this loss hurt and dedicate yourself to not feel this way next year.
  4. 4 my sister's comments couldn't be stated better. DL won and we congratulate them on that. If you had a birds eye view then you should have seen that Cobb had removed his jersey & pads coming off the field after the final seconds. This is something he has routinely done throughout his high school career (I should know I'm one of the 1st people on the field and it's to specifically see him at the conclusion of the game). I do agree he should have grabbed his jersey before going to mid-field, but he did have on a fulton t-shirt. If you don't remember that I can send you a picture. Every win is a new high experience and every loss hurts a little deeper. Especially when you know it's your last. Back off the kids...they left it all on the field and you should to.
  5. I would love to know what you think you know...having been on the sidelines from pre-game with the team until they were back on the bus to Knoxville I witnessed nothing but disappoint and sadness. The Falcons played hard right up to the last second on the clock, just like a good well coached team should. Poor behavior is not acceptable and would not have been tolerated by any Fulton coach.
  6. Shove it really shows class...maybe you would have been "nicer" with we shot ourselves in the foot. Either way it means the same thing. DL coaching staff is working with a more experienced and proven team. Fulton's staff had to start the season with the loss of 22 seniors. They did an excellent job to get to the title game let alone compete. Both teams played with class...like it or not.
  7. Couldn't be prouder of this year's team. You overcame so much...losing 21 seniors (including Rogan), youth, and inexperience. You all worked so hard to make it to today's game (with a little luck along the way). There is nothing to be hanging your head about. You left it all on the field and that's all anyone can expect. Practice hard, work hard, train hard and next year you just might be seeing "GOLD." To the seniors - let this be the start of the next chapter of your life.
  8. What's the deal with all the "class" comments? DL played a good game and made some big plays when needed. Fulton gift-wrapped several possessions that costed us the win. It was a good game between two great programs. That's where it needs to stop. Anyone who questions Fulton's class or coaching staff doesn't know what they are talking about. We're very proud of our team, coaches, cheerleaders, parents, and supporters. Who would have thought in August that we'd be playing in December. We've made an incredible run and just came up a little short. No Fulton Falcon should be hanging their head tonight...just start looking forward to next year and a trip back to the 'Boro.
  9. I sure hope a lot of Region 2 fans show up to support the Falcons. There should be plenty to cheer about. Two great schools, two great teams and two great coaching staffs. This game will definently be played with class and sportsmanship. Leave it all on the field Fulton and you'll come home with one more ring.
  10. Ken's doing fine. He was released last night from UT. Minor concussion at most. Should be back Friday to take on the Roadrunners. Thanks for the prayers. Everyone hates to see a kid go down.
  11. A win is a win and we move on you go home...those sour grapes won't make your whining (get it) any sweeter. I sure didn't see your oline doing any better = goose egg. I did appreciate the respect and sportsmanship the AC team/coaches/fans showed at the end of the game when Ken was down. Agreeing to call the game was the right thing to do.
  12. A screen name is just that...not necessary a specific tie to any school or sport. Does it make feel better that I'm a mom? And not of a FHS student either. You know what happens when you assume. Oh yeah...way to go AE. We'll see you next week at our house.
  13. Who said I play or have played. I'm not complaining about playing on anyone else's field. I just think watering it down takes the home field advantage a little far. As I recall home field advantage hasn't really bought KC much in the last several years anyway. Win region, win state...we'll take State x 3.
  14. Seeing as though I live in a nearby neighborhood and could see the sprinklers running after the rain had stopped on several different occasions the week prior to playing Fulton. No more excuses KC. I don't root for AE...but sure will this week.
  15. Catholic didn't win any points last year when they decided on "their state championship rings" design prior to playing Fulton in the playoffs. Apparently they thought we'd just show up and give them the win. I agree with you on the level of competitiveness, that generally follows well-coached teams. It has turned into a nice rivalry that will continue Friday night.
