  1. I'm getting different information. Some say Coalfield only lost 4 seniors while others are saying they lost alot. It don't really matter. I know a thing or two about that area down there. Coalfield is a place of pride and hard work. They don't do a whole lot of talking on here. CY jacket was the only poster I remember talking on here. That bunch talks with their pads and they bullied and destroyed a young Cloudland team last year. Even the teams I played on remember how physical the Yellow Jackets are. I got lit up a couple of times on kick offs down there my senior year and they taunt and laugh. I'm looking forward to seeing how this team responds to the tough guy image that Coalfield brings to the field. I like Coalfield and respect them because I think imposing your will is important to your success in this game. I remember the first time we ever played Coalfield. It was in the playoffs in 92. The passion of the cheerleaders, fans, and players was something that stuck with me. I don't remember ever seeing a program show as much passion and love for their school as that bunch. If we can get back to that level, then football will be the ultimate gayla spectacle at Orr field. We are heading in that direction under Pittman. More young men need to come out and be a part of it. As for Hampton, I wouldn't think much about it til week ten. There are alot of other hungry teams to play. The only thing I can say about week ten is Cloudland can do it this year. This is a year where they can definitely break the streak!

  2. LOL, That doesn't surprise me, I think she was "looking". Again, if she had went to EITHER Oakdale OR Wartburg, either team would have been state bound IMO. Sad to see talent like she has not even make it out of district. I saw last night that Coalfield only has 7 players! What's up with that? I know they have more ball players than that at Coalfield, just look at their softball team....Coalfield could be right there in the thick of things if they could get some of the softball players to join in. But again that's just my opinion.

She should have transferred to one of those schools, kudos for loyalty, but can't say staying at Coalfield was a smart decision by no means! lol

These girls have two things working against them. Youth, and lack of depth. Foster and Hamby are cousins. They complement each other on the floor. The younger players have some raw talent that will develop. It is difficult with only 7 players and talent sitting in the bleachers. The "rumors" of a transfer were just that rumors. However, it the team failed to get enough to play who could blame a kid that likes the game as much as Samantha for "looking" for someplace to play? Glad she's there at home where she belongs; and yes she is loyal.....that speaks volumes when it comes to character. All seven of these girls have guts, they show them every game. Play hard!!!

    Good luck....

  3. What is with you and the white noise crap? 99.99% of us guys on these boards are alumni and are chatting about the games. It would be kind of stupid for us to be going to FB practice now wouldn't it.

Who said you went to FB practice? I said you guys were white noise because the teams read this stuff but aren't seeing it as a distraction. White noise is background noise with NO meaning.....

  4. Don't know about SP but while you clowns are doing the Coacht yeah, yeah session, and trying to figure this mess (as RD would say), Coalfield was doing what Coalfield has been doing for nearly 15 weeks now, PRACTICING for this game. I would venture to say that SP is doing the same. The rest is just white noise to the players........

  5. From SP my GPS recommends Highway 27 thru Soddy Daisy all the way to a right turn onto Coal Hill Road then 5 miles to school. 2 1/2 hours. Sounds easy, only one turn. Do you Coalfield fans agree or is Coal Hill Road a bad route?

Yes, it is the first road on the right, just past the county line sign. There are two bridges that cross the Little Emory River, the road is between the two. As a matter of fact the road is right next to the second bridge. Coalhill is a curvy road. It is also narrow but it is the best way. It ends at the School in downtown, next to Walmart, and across the street from Target. McDonalds is a few blocks away.

  6. Good to see you on here CY Jacket,we've had our tussles back in the day but I'm a pulling hard for them Coalfield boys. Seems like you fellers have a pretty dang good bunch. Good luck

Thanks. They are an interesting bunch. Guess we will see as the road get a few more bumps in it.

Just letting this bunch and the Coaching staff settle into their positions.

As I said long ago, single A is up and down, but always look around the corner for an Orange and Black team. They lurk.....

  7. I've seen ole tiger on a few of your lists. Well, I don't know where he is these days and I don't care, but he seems to have disapeared off the face of the earth! I figured with the great season Sunbright's having, he'd be in rare form, spouting off a mile a minute. Maybe he's been nabbed by aliens or something....but then again, with his mouth they wouldn't keep him for long!

Thought I saw you and him together the other day at the Sav-A-Lot. You were complaining about referees.....lol.

PUJO is the man. He has some disliking for the privates and those felons in Karns.

  8. One of those teams I wrote sports headlines about was Coalfield.

And I'm certainly glad we aren't associated with Grace in those "headlines". You got to learn to win, Grace hasn't yet. Hopefully it will come. Teams with class like Hampton, Cloudland, Greenback (until recently), Oneida, Coalfield, and Copper Basin all have had their down times and up times. It comes with 1a football, to excell in less time and be consistent doesn't happen as often as it appears to be happening with the private schools. I call that a red flag.

I certainly have never had a good experience at GCA from poor fan hospitality; to a headcoach cursing on the sidelines at the Coalfield Fans. It was heard by both a County Commissioner and a School Board member.A letter of rebuke was sent to the school.Nothing was done.No apology or such was offered. No suprise there. When you get off probation you will be multiplied up to 2a, have a nice ride.

As for this young man if he truly deserves the award I hope he gets it.

  9. Pujo is right......

As for the problems with Hamilton County Schools, the need for "grapefruits" would have been to stay within the system, not drain the best and brightest from the system and make it worse. Leaving the system you pay for and not demanding a change is called no grapefruits.

Now, go Wartburg....Oops, did I say that?... :roflolk:

  10. It's a shame that when they lose he doesn't support them.

Sorry I didn't realize that getting on here and trash talking was support. I might start again because it is fun, but not support. I thought support was raising money to build a new field house, of which I have been involved with for over 5 years now and a core group has raised nearly $150k. I thought support was attending the games and cheering for the team. Sorry guys you have no clue as to what I do, who I support, and where I have been. I have had a few better things to do than get on this site. Maybe I reevaluated my position on how best to support the team............and this wasn't it. I left the board for some personal reasons and when so called Coalfield fans started bashing individual players on their own team. Not because they were losing. If you look back I have posted much since the last time Coalfield beat O.S. two years ago (thought I'd point out the last win agains O.S that I mostlikely didn't post in). I don't think I posted then but I really don't care.

  11. Congrats to Coalfield. A well earned trip. The best in the East isn't bad!! The discipline and hard work paid off. Coach Wilson, thanks for the leadership. Assistants Mike Gilbert and Dave Hall, volunteer's don't get enough, thanks. It was a good year for Spring Sports at C-town. Let's carry it on over to the next season, (oh, wait there is one season in Coalfield, Ball SEASON.) so I will say to the next round of ball, Football. Get ready guys, there are a bunch of nasty folks waiting to get revenge, Gonna let em?

  12. I think this game could be a lot closer than people think. York still has a good team, but I don't know if they're as good as 07 was. If they come out ready to play I think York will win, but it won't be easy this year. Also, Coalfield is a very tough place to play- take it from an old Wartburg guy who played down there more than once!!! BTW CYJACKET where are you?

I'm here quietly watching and reading the idiots that are posting on here, present company excluded. Yeah, I'm talking to slimeynosepicker and biggummer.

Coach Henry has, to date done a very good job in preparing this team for challenges. His philosphy is every week is a challenge and they must meet it. He prepares himself and his coaches well, and then attempts to transfer it to the team. It is working so far. Last week the Jackets did stop the wing T better than in previous years. They are in good physical shape, they are not selfish, and they want to win. The formula is there but for one thing performance on the field. The test is tonight. We will see if they studied hard enough. I know the teachers gave them the information the needed.
