  1. Go look at the bracket on www.tssaa.org
  2. If Huntingdon can keep their winning ways going, we will host next week.
  3. Huntingdon put their first complete game together last night. If Huntingdon plays like they did last night, yeah it will be a win. Just hope the team doesn't show up that played the first 10 weeks. There really is something special about playoff football.
  4. Hats off to a very good Milan team. In my opinion, the better team won on Friday night. However, don't get to carried away with yourselves just yet. From what I saw, the biggest difference was the number of players having to play both sides of the ball for Huntingdon. The guys left it all on the field and we all saw that Huntingdon can play with Milan. Granted there is more of a talent difference than in years past, but I would not be surprised with a different outcome come playoff time. Both schools need to make improvements if they hope to compete with Alcoa or even to get past Goodpasture to get there.
  5. I thought offensively we were better than I was expecting. With limited practice time so far, big improvements should still be on the way. Defensively - We played with a lot of intensity and most times multiple players got in on the tackle. Gave up a few big plays but that is expected this early in the season. Not sure what the year will bring in terms of wins and losses but it will be fun to watch. It is going to be an interesting adjustment for me not seeing my son out there anymore, but look forward to rooting this group of Mustangs on.
  6. Do you honestly think Milan will put up 34 points tonight? They have put up 30 only 3 times all year and two of those teams went a combined 4-16.
  7. Am I missing something here? You want to use games against one common opponent and how Milan played against two other teams to base your opinion when the two teams played each other earlier this year. Just keep in mind it was Morris who commented after the first game that Huntingdon physically whipped Milan.
  8. I stand corrected. I was thinking the 05 game was the 12 -7 victory at Milan. Regardless, every game played is going to have some bad calls, ex: '98 game. Don't take away from the efforts of the players and coaches by trying to lay the blame on the officials. Missed calls by officials have always and will always be a part of football as well as missed tackles and bad play calling. Huntingdon has won 3 straight playoff games against Milan and 2 out of the last 3 regular season games. Is there a team anywhere with that kind of success against Milan? Huntingdon players and coaches know what it takes to win big ball games. Milan is favored but I believe true Milan fans will tell you, better not count on Huntingdon laying down.
  9. Actually you are wrong on which year that 12 players were on the field. That game was played at Paul Ward Stadium, 05 was played in Milan. I still find in comical that Milan fans want to bring that up. I have heard all year about how Milan was missing players the first game and that is why we won. Huntingdon was missing two starting players that would have played both offense and defense. We will be missing our biggest lineman this week, but we will not use that as an excuse if we get beat. The best thing that I like about the Huntingdon/Milan rivalry is the respect each program has for the other. When the game is over, no matter who wins they know it was a hard fought victory. I believe that Milan is improved from week 1 but that does work both ways. Huntingdon is playing the best ball we have played all year right now.
  10. Congrats to the Rebels. Ya'll made the plays when needed and we didn't. Hope the Moore kid is ok.
  11. I am not sure what paper your looking at but I believe Huntingdon is better at most positions over last year. Last year's senior class was a small group so many of the players on the field this year already have experience.
  12. Dyer Co. is a larger 3A school that is currently 3-1. Huntingdon may get beat Friday night but it wouldn't be the first time. However, I really don't think it will happen this week. Mckenzie may be sitting on the other side of the field but I believe the view will be about the same as usual. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. Now would that be the bus that Mckenzie drove around court square last year? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I love the fact your predicting we will score 21 points against ya'll and we only scored 14 against Bruceton. I am looking forward to Friday night and see what happens. Believe me if you think Huntingdon is going to lay down you better keep some kleenex real close by.
  14. Before everyone buries Huntingdon by large spreads, lets keep in mind one thing. McKenzie has not beat a team that currently has a winning record.
  15. The only person that tipped the interception was the db before he caught it.
  16. The championship has nothing to do with it. It is based on enrollment but a school can elect to play up. The review is done every 4 years and schools can be moved up or down after 2 years if they have a change in enrollment of 20% of more.
  17. I use to think that as well. The last couple of times I ate there I was pretty disappointed.
  18. I think you may have me confused with someone else. But I don't picking at you.
  19. You can throw out the 1A - 2A argument. Dresden is a small 2A and Mckenzie is one of if not the largest 1A schools in the state. There is probably not over 20 students difference at the most. Nothing against Dresden but I think they are in for a long season this year.
  20. For once I can agree with a Mckenzie fan, Jamborees are designed as a fund raiser and as an opportunity to get some jitters out of the players system by getting in front of a large crowd. I agree you can't take much away from a jamboree as far as football goes. Usually teams only run a limited number of plays and the defense doesn't show much either.
  21. I don't know if you realize it or not but Huntingdon had 6 players seeing time on both sides of the ball. Three of the starting defensive linemen also played on the offensive line every snap of the game. The game came down to who was the most physical up front. If we can keep all of our offensive linemen healthy, I believe it will be as good of an offensive line as you will find in west tn.
  22. Huntingdon should prevail if we play Mustang football. Dyer County will present some interesting challenges with 4 and 5 wide outs but we have seen that a few times before. I am interested in seeing how they look on defense since it really came down to line play against Milan in the 2nd half.
  23. I think that is too much ESPN. Matt felt bad about it after the game and I will be highly surprised if anything like that happens again.
  24. Actually I didn't grow up in Huntingdon so it doesn't run real deep in me. I am definately a big fan of Mustang football and have seen most of the games over the last 15 years. I am real excited about this Friday night. Milan will bring a big crowd and if the Huntingdon folks show up last minute as they usually do we will have a bunch of those barking fans on the home side. Mr. Mustang I can assure you the players are ready. If what I am hearing is true, Milan will have several lineman going both ways just like we will. Conditioning will become very important in this one.
