  1. In the Medium Varsity division, Lawrence Co. placed FIRST! and Cumberland Co placed 2nd and Paintsville placed third! -Congrats Lawrence Co! Great job girls!- How did Perry Co. do?
  2. what division is PC in? small, medium, large?
  3. Ardmore is in ALabama but the town is split by TN and AL. .. so It's kinda in both. lol. They have a great team but due to girls getting benched for getting in trouble, they had to drop out. Which for LCHS, that's good because now we don't have as much competition.
  4. Lawrence Co. Does get pretty crazy! We aren't near as crazy as we use to be though! But they have picked up the pace!! It's going pretty good!
  5. I just found out that Ardmore isn't going now either! So, who does that leave that is our competition!?
  6. Thank you so much!! I've LOVED cheering at LCHS more than anything! It's been a blast! We have had some hard times as a team(losing Hayely as a cheerleader but also as a best friend) and we've grown stronger through them! We have truely accomplished so much as a team this year (Camp champs, State Champs and competing in Gatlinburg in March)and it's been a blast! I'm going to miss it! Not only as a team but I've been so proud of helping out with freshman cheerleading also! They have accomplsihed more than any other freshman team I've ever helped! -I'm planning on trying out for cheerleading at Cumberland University in April. I went to a cheer clinic there this past Sat. and learned a lot! So I'm hoping I can continue to do something with the ability God has blessed me with! Cheering at LCHS wouldn't have been half as fun without the support of all the fans that cheer us on game after game! No matter where life leads me, my heart will always be at LCHS! Thanks so much for your support!
  7. THe coach wasn't mad at the cheerleader b/c after it was all said and done she cheerleader promised that she only said "Bull crap" and "you're horrible" but the boy is the one that got punished. If you would have seen the call you would have been mad too because we lost a district game that was important all because the refs were giving us crap. But that was a few weeks ago and it's all over with. But last week we played a team and the ref heard the guys cursing..even if it was towards himself cursing is uncalled for. Oh well. . it's over with. We've learned our lesson.
  8. What do you think the outcome will be? Do you think LC has a chance?
  9. What do you think the outcome of the game will be tonight? LC only lost by like 2 or 3 last time....

  11. Yes, I'm not saying we don't represent and yes there should be a line drawn.. But he didn't say it .. But at the game Tuesday night a ball player said a really loud cuss word and I know the ref had to of heard it but didn't say a word about it. They represent just like cheerleaders do. I'm not saying what they said was right by any means...I'm just saying we got punished for the same thing other participators do that represent just as much as we do.
  12. I was just wondering what kind of teams were going to be at the MArch Gatlinburg competition. I know Summertown won the medium varsity division last yaer..who is our other competition?
  13. It's kind of crazy how tonight a girl cheerleader said a cuss word and the ref threw the male cheerleader out of the game. But yet, the basketball players can talk crap all night long and so can people in the crowd...But one cheerleader lets something slip and the ref has a cow. Granted, it isn't right, but why is it okay for the basketball guys to say it and not get in trouble and a cheerleader gets thrown out for it!?The Ref also made the call for him to sit down, but made the principle of the school do his dirty work!? I think if he makes the call he needs to stand in his own pants and take the responsibility!

  15. Lawrence County's student section gets pretty crazy! They have calmed down a lot in the past year but they can be pretty feirce.
  16. lucky you! We cheer for football and compete during that season. Get only Christmas break off and then start again for the last part of basketball season. We have 2 games a week and on our off days we have 2 practices a week. So we usually get one day to rest every week! We cheer both games no matter what. If you miss, you better be in the hospital. People don't realize how much effort cheerleaders really have to put into things. Especially try to cheer 2 times a week, which is 4 games and then get ready for competition. It's hard, but worth it!
  17. Number 24 is Holdmeyer or something like that, right? For Lincoln Co.
  18. Aren't backtuck toss' illegal in a high school division? I thought anything flippin in the air with no hands on and bases on the ground was illegal.. . . maybe I'm wrong . .
  19. maybe not over coached....We have a great coach but the players just don't have the heart like they use to.
  20. Rachel went to the doctor today and has torn her ACL, Meniscuis (Not sure how to spell it), and other cartilage. She is having surgery in two weeks!! She will possibly recover completely by July. Her college Volleyball starts the first week in August. Please keep her and her family in her prayers. It's going to be a tough road ahead. -thanks-
  21. I'm on Varsity at Lawrence County. The best way we have found to do baskets is your two primary bases both grab their right wrist and then they lock together. making a square. Once they have grabbed wrists and then locked together you must lock out your arms and bend at the waist. (the throwing tosses you must not use your upper body's muscles to throw, use your legs!)If not, you will definitely pull something. You need a front spot that with her palms facing upward and her hands overlapped, pushes upward with her hands on the bottom of the locked wrists. The backspot loads the topper in. As SOON as she is set, she pushes SHRAIGHT up on her butt. (all one motion..very fast) The top girl must jump in on her toes. If her whole foot is on their hands she will more than likely jump out of the toss. The flyer needs to let the bases throw her, not try to help them. She first needs to jump in with all her weight in her arms and push as hard as she can off the bases shoulders) She MUST ride the toss straight up very tight and hit her toe touch or whatever at the top, when she thinks she can't go any higher. After hitting your toe touch she needs to squeeze back together ( called a whip) and then land soft and tight so the bases don't collapse.
