  1. Agreed. There aughta be a penalty for blatant bumping.
  2. I think will be close. Stats look like two good running games. Both probably need to work on fine-tuning the pass. Coffee Co has capitalized on many turnovers in the last couple of games to keep the opposing offenses off the field. Wilson has four fumbles so far this year. If Wilson can hold onto the ball (and Coffee Co is great at stripping the ball!) I'll predict they win by two pts or less. They may have the edge in the kicking game.
  3. Well, I didn't see that coming. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  4. That's the last regular season game! May a new tread should get started for this later on (unless maybe this is a subversive effort by RRat to get Warren County to 'overlook" Coffee Co? - surely not).
  5. Homecoming week for Warren co (did I say distraction?) Fair week in Coffee Co (did I say distraction?). BTW - I heard there is free food for all Coffee County football players at the fair on Thursday night but only if you arive after 10pm. So please spread the word - FREE FOOD for all Coffee County players at the fair after 10pm on Thursday night!!!! (I hope they enjoy it too). /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. You are right that WC's schedule did not start out as dificult as say Franklin County's but it will get more difficult as the season goes forward. Dekalb Co was much improved from last year and they will win some games. Shelbyville played WC very hard and even went into double OT with Coffee Co (who just knocked off Cookeville) and won their last game so dont take anything away from them (you'll see if a few weeks what I mean). Its hard to know how good your opponents will be when the schedules are set. The current WC team is not responsible for how their opponents do in other games. Actually the schedules are identical expect FC plays Wilson Central, Oakland and Smith Co (all very good) and WC plays Dekalb Co & White Co (our next door neighbors) and "Ensworth" who may end up being a very good team. White Co has defeated Warren County 4 years in a row so Warren Co centainly cant say they are a pushover. All three WC opponents have been "worth playing". Thast said (or typed) FC is apparently a much improved team from playing better teams early. Lesser teams would have started to roll over after they were behind by 14 point less than three minutes into the game - but not the Rebels. The region 3-5A looks very even this year. At least 5 teams could easily claim a real shot at the top two slots. Defensiveman - FC having played both - how do you see Warren Co vs Tullahoma in three weeks?
  7. OK. Thanks. I really thought the flag was during the play but my memory is not what it use to be. I sure didn't think the penalty would be stepped off on the extra point though. I thought it would have been on the KO if it was really after the play. I just learned something new. You are right that there were two players going to the sideline but one was definitely off the field. Oh well.
  8. I was wondering about a call or two by the officials. FC was down 7-14 in the 3rd and scores on a 60+ yard pass. There is a flag during the play - the official the the thing where he pushes both hands straight out so i think its blocking in the back or something like that. They go ahead and give the TD to FC and then assess the 15yard penalty on the extra point - which was blocked giving WC the 1 point edge. I though they were supposed to replay the down? I dont think I've ever seem 'em assess the penalty on the extra point attempt. Second thing - later in the third WC is up 17-13. FC has a long pass and gets down to about the 8 before he is stopped. After two plays WC then does some substitutions but there is some confusion - a player thinks he is supposed to come out and races to the WC sideline but doesn't make it. WC stops FC but there is (another) flag. To many men on the field - but there were really on 10 WC players on the field not counting the one racing off to the sidelines. Coach Madewell tries to tell the officials he was actually one short but they just point for him to "get back yonder over ther' on the edge with everbody else". I guess WC got a penalty for "not nuff out here". Love to hear FC play Dixie!
  9. WC was up 14-0 after 4 offensive plays early in the 1st qrt - but FC "doubt didn't set in". FC played really well - came from behind and had the lead late in the 4th qrt but Garibaldi put in a late FG to put WC up with less than 2 min to play 20-19. FC got the ball back and made it to mid field but couldn't connect. WC mistakes (four turnovers!) kept FC's offence on the field for a whole lot more than WC's offence.

    Big Ones

The standings seem to be having a little technical difficulty. Some out of 49 picks have 30 correct are are standing in the 163rds and some are standing in the 189ths (of course I'm in the 189s or I wouldn't have brought it up!)

    Big Ones

Thanks CoachT. Anyway we can see our past picks (oh where did I go wrong!) and see prior year's schedules with results like we use to be able to do?
  12. Coffee County (CC) came out looking like the stronger team and never was behind until the OT. The score was 14-14 at the half but you just had to think CC would come out and put Shelbyville away. The third quarter started just as I thought it would with a CC drive for a TD and then a second CC drive put them up 28-14. S'ville responded the very next play with a TD pass and big mo move over to S'ville for a while. S'ville tied the game 28-28 and had a chance to take the win when they had a first down on the CC 12 with 0:08 to go. (I sugguest a field goal but I guess from where I was sitting the coaches couldn't hear me - maybe I should have yelled it out). Anyway, Shelbyville tried to take a shot to the end zone and got slapped with an intentional grounding call and had to try to the FG with 0:01 left from about 30 yards out. It was blocked!!!! In the 1st OT CC struggled but finally scored first. S'ville connected on their 2nd play for the TD to make the tie at 35-35. On the next series S'ville goes first and on the first play the S'ville QB (looking like a mini-versions of Vince Young) does the scrambling leaping thingy to get into the endzone to get S'ville up 42-35. CC scored on 4th down and went for two and made it so it ended up CC 43 - S'ville 42. Overall CC appeared to be in much better shape for this game but hat off to S'ville for making a great effort. CC appeared to be the better team to me but as the game go into the 4th the seemed to lack the intensity needed to put S'ville away. CC did not pass all that much and the QB rarely did the keeper thingy. S'ville ran out of the shotgun alot and the QB is a great passer. None of this lob it up stuff - most of his passes were bullets into the hands of his receivers. You shoulda been there.
  13. Sounds like we need a Warren county thread. After all .... only 287 days to the first game!
  14. Know how you feel...could have said it this way.... I know I get carried away sometimes but look... I remeber the darkest days of WARREN Coffee County football when they playoffs were not even a remote dream... I remember a team that got beat by COFFEE Grundy County when WARREN Coffee County did good to win one game a season. The players back then were just as good if not better than the ones now. I am just so glad to finally see the program going in the right direction and I am afraid that the people in MCMINNVILLE Manchester don't appriciate how far we have come. I NEVER want to see the PIONEER Raider football team in a s bad of shape as it was just a few years ago.
  15. ...except they wont be missed by we on the other side...good riddance...and congratulations on a very successful high school football career to you all. You have earned everyones respect.
  16. Winner of Warren Co. vs Riverdale ..... well, it could happen.
  17. ...just hoping the "brightness" is not a train headed right at them!
  18. QUOTE(I_PoSt_LiTTlE @ Oct 29 2006 - 10:43 AM) Warren County: Don't worry about this kid, he is very immature and doesn't know how to read thought out posts. He takes everything he reads with "fear" that you might be trying to "spear" his beloved Riverdale Warriors. I liked the interesting tidbit posted, it did show that Rankin lost his first year to this WC team but then emphasized how much a great coach he became. (Great coach, recruiter same thing right?) Again, do not worry about this guy. Good Luck, and best of Luck to Big Todd and Chase. Big Todd should cause somewhat of a ruckus for their tackles as he did when I watched him play in some scrimmages. He might get lost and end up hurting the Pioneers though.. Riverdale by 20+ . WC's defense is pretty electric at times but Scott Thomas and company just appear to get better and better. No need for them to slow down now. Not supposed to say "ruckus"?
  19. 20. "...ole times here are not forgotten".......
  21. As did several others....AFTER THE GAME WAS ALREADY OVER!!
  22. Both teams sat on the ball...because both defenses were puttin' 'em there...on their seat. But I certainly didn't think Price was running up the score. His bunch was only up by 4 scores and he knew WC had potential. No complaining about CC playing calling here.
  23. Do we get to vote after the Warren Co Coffee Co game is already over? And it was the hardest one to pick!
  24. Maybe that's one of those that always looks like it past the line to the defense but looks like its close but not over the line to the offense. It was a really good throw anyway.
  25. Who would have been the 2nd string QB? The QB starter was in until the play before the fumble...I think. (CC played really good and WC didn't so were not happy over here).
