  1. Funny you should mention Lincoln County and Dickson County. Lincoln County was the first team to ever beat the Warriors at Tomahawk Stadium (in 2003) and, in the very next home game, Dickson County became the second. Amazing how the demeanor of the PA announcer changes when Riverdale is on the losing side of the scoreboard.
  2. The LC defense gave him a rough time last night, but I am glad that he got his 1,000 yards. Not all running backs get that honor to say they did that. Great job!!!!
  3. What are you talking about dude? This is the Lincoln County Falcons vs. Coffee County Raiders thread. Who said anything about Volunteer? You might want to lay off the crack so early in the morning. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. According to the LC radio broadcast, KJ came up a little short of getting 1,000 yards for the season, but a great job nonetheless. Best of luck to the Raiders.
  5. I do not think you will have to worry about the Falcons coming out flat. They have been more focused this week in practice than ever. They lost heart breakers to Blackman and Independence, and were screwed out of a game by the refs against Baylor. They are 6 and 3, but could just as easily be 9 and 0. You have to play the cards that are dealt to you, and they will. Coach Thompson has this group ready to go into the playoffs on a positive note, so anyone that thinks they will be caught off guard will be in for a suprise of their own. The weather should be perfect for this one!!! LC - 28 CC - 7
  6. There is nothing cocky about that thread "Bubba". The point made was that some thought LC didn't show any classs when the Cavs had a player that refused to shake hands with any of the LC players or coaches after the game. That is what is classless. I am sure coach Joslin will address that in his own way. As far as being confident, why shouldn't we be, Lincoln County is the 2008 Region 3-5A Champions!!!!!!!!! Let me hear it from the rest of the Falcon faithful!!!!
  7. That has burned in Coach T's belly for a while, let me asure you. BUT, Riverdale scored more point that night than Lincoln County did, and that is all that matters. I just don't like hearing all the whining going on that the refs stole the game from Cookeville Friday night. I know all of them don't feel that way, but the ones that are doing the complaining are speaking for the vast majority of them. We lost the 03 game to you guys in the playoffs and felt that way, but life goes on. There is nothing any of us can do to go back and change it now..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. I agree with you totally! The call that was made AGAINST the Falcons against Riverdale in the playoffs, that cost them the game, was made by a ref that was not even supposed to be looking for offensive holding. That is what had Coach T so upset. So, that goes to show you that the Falcons do not receive "home cooking" in The Pit.....
  9. You and Sadler are regular comedians..... I will be looking for you on Comedy Central (NOT!!!!) The only person that works on Lincoln County's field is Coach Thompson, and although I wasn't at the game, I am sure he was not on the field officiating the game Friday night. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> For a player to walk off the field and not shake anyone's hand is classless. It doesn't matter what the other team does to you, it is up to you to be the bigger person and shake their hand anyway, that is what class is all about. To say the LC players were taunting, or whatever you want to say, does not matter. If he were truly a class player, he would have shaken their hands and walked off the field with his head held high, like Coach Joslin has coached him to do! And to say that LC gets dominated all over the state except for at home is another one of your non funny jokes. They have won at Cookeville, and, to the best of my knowledge, THE FALCONS WERE THE FIRST TEAM TO EVER BEAT RIVERDALE ON THEIR HOME FIELD....... Can Cookeville claim that?????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  10. I wasn't at the game, but in the ref's defense, it could have been a situation that the ref had told the coach previously that he had a timeout left when he really didn't and when LC called the timeout, another ref brought it to his attention that they did not have any more left. I have seen this happen in the past and when it has, they do exactly what happened last night, since it was an error on the officiating crew. From some of the calls I have heard that were made, or not made, last night, it sounds like that very well may be the case............ /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
  11. Riverside Christian Academy of Fayetteville won it's first varsity football game in only it's third attempt Thursday night against Scottsboro Christian Academy of Scottsboro, Alabama by a score of 18 to 6. Congrats to Coach Chris Jones, his staff, and his players, that is an awesome accomplishment for only your your third varsity game. Good luck the rest of the season!!!!
  12. The Lincoln County Lady Falcons 10U team will be hosting the Riverside Classic once again, this year, in Fayetteville April 13 - 15. We will have 9U - 17U GIRLS AND BOYS. The entry fee is $150.00 per team, and if someone wants to bring multiple teams, the entry fee is only $125.00. It will consist of two pool play games and a single elimination tournament. Individual trophies will be awarded to the winning teams, and individual medals will be awarded to the runner up of each age group. Last year was our first attempt at it and we had a lot of coaches, and parents, complimenting the environment of the championship games with the use of the gym's sound system to introduce all of the players to the crowds at the start of each game, as well as the awards presentations. We already have teams from 3 different states committed to come and play so there will be good competition. For anyone wanting more information, you can call Tonya Allen at 931-433-3192, or email at ardellallen@bellsouth.net. Hope to see you there!!!!

  14. Coach Thompson has no intentions of stepping down at Lincoln County any time soon. I spoke to him myself this week and he told me that himself, so I did not hear it "through the grapevine." I have also spoken to him about who he thinks might be his replacement when he does decide to hand over the reigns, and Although Coach O'Conner, Coach Palmer, and Coach Johnson would be obvious, and very good successors to the throne, you would be suprised at who else is at the very top of the list. (For those of you thinking it is his son, Jay, YOU'RE WRONG!!!!!!)
