Not bad for a 4A school against a 5A power with twice as many everything than WC.
I believe I read somewhere that Cookeville had three times as many football players as we did.

No school is going to tell me where to sit in a stadium paid for by tax-payer dollars.
But the police might.
-
Did you all really think you could win?
Oh admit it, buddy. You got a little bit worried there in the first half I'm sure.

Everyone keeps talking about the trainer. Up until Tuesday of this week, we didn't have a trainer. They just finally brought Bobbi back in Tuesday. And before anyone starts on the coaches, they have nothing to do with hiring trainers. I can't imagine if we had not had her on the sidelines tonight.
Oh. Well I'm sorry for what I said about the trainer then. Hopefully they'll have their stuff together for next Friday night against THE WALKER VALLEY.
-
Thanks, I think so too.
*clears throat uncomfortably* I guess Cookeville will do all right too. Hennigan didn't look half bad. *looks down at shoes* Yeah.

Everybody had cramps. Sheesh, what kind of conditioning program are these kids on. Maybe whoever the trainer is forgot that it gets muggy in August....
-
Try subbing your players in and out once in a while, that is one of the big reasons we won late in the game.
We don't have the depth to afford that luxury.

If WC can get their turnover addiction under control, I could see them making a splash this year. CHS isn't as good as in previous years, but I wouldn't judge their team by this one game. They underachieved in this one.

as for you warrior i see the crying has already started, what about cookeville turnovers. great teams over come.
Yes indeed, I am quite disappointed, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed a few tears as the clock expired while we stood around helpless. But correct me if I'm wrong, but Cookeville's turnovers didn't come at such critical times as ours did (two in the red zone, a muffed punt when we had the lead and stopped you guys cold late in the Fourth).
The fact remains that the White County Warriors have only themselves to blame for losing the game. Cookeville played well enough to win, naturally, but they weren't spectacular and they clearly were having problems stopping us when we did decide to not make any mistakes.

Good try Warriors, remember your famous war cry-"there is always next year"
Go ahead and gloat now (if we had won I wouldn't shut up about this for the next decade, I assure you) and NEXT YEAR, boy, Sparta is going to go up to your house and really.....
Nah, I'm not in the mood for it right now.
-
Well, he could say (and he would probably have a legitimate point) that turnovers in the first half are what beat us, rather than Cookeville itself.

Final score, from the Butterfingers Bowl:
Evil Empire 30
Forces of Goodness, Freedom, and Justice 27

Yeah, Red Bank is rightfully considered the favorite at this point. We shall see.
-
some of the fans were talking like cookeville didn't have a chance and that they were the team with the big winning streak
Obviously these people are compensating for their doubt about our chances. We will always be at a disadvantage playing Cookeville, but that makes the struggle all the better. Like JFK said, we do it "not because it is easy, but because it is hard."
-
I hope it is a thriller like the game 3 years ago when gus paxton scored with a few seconds left at cookeville for the win. That was one of the greatest high school games i have ever seen
Could have been better.

Every year White co. fans say the same thing. "This is the Year."
The Law of Averages states that eventually we will be correct. And boy you won't ever hear the end of that one.
And what do you want us to say, anyway? "Oh man, we stink so bad, there's no way we will beat the almighty Cookeville. We don't deserve to be on the field with them"? Sports fans who aren't optimistic about the upcoming season are bad fans. I don't believe that you would prefer us to just lay down and give up on the game before it is played.
I think we've got a fair shot to beat Cookeville on Friday.
-
I'd say Cookeville is a power.
-
Of course they will lose to cookeville. when was the last time sparta beat cookeville? been awhile...
Darn straight. When was the last time Vandy beat the Big Orange, eh?
-
"Hope springs eternal."
-
Is Coach Brown still at White Co?
He sure is.
-
I think the more important point to make is: a team doesn't have to be "good" to have a post about them.
-
Eh, don't blame him. Blame the White County school system.
-
I didn't think Paz played that badly.
Region 4A Champs Again The Red Bank Lions
in Class 5A & Class 6A

I wouldn't hand them the trophy just yet, let's wait until they win at least one Region game before doing that.
