From what has been floating around it's going to happen

With the way things are hanndled around here, there's no telling... They'd be doing themselves a favor if they got rid of him, though, and put Lunceford at the helm, cause with him coaching the team they got coming up next year, they might go places.

    What did everybody else do?

Jesse Smith had 12, Andy had 10, Hunter only had two, but he pulled down a fair bit of rebounds... Cody Cornett started at point, and considering he's seen MAYBE 20-25 minutes of varsity playing time, ever, he didn't do bad at all. He took care of the ball alot better than I thought he would, and he had a block or two and a free throw at the end of the overtime period to seal the win.

Luck won't help anyone not named Union City....

And Oh By The Way....Your post is titled"Who are legitimate longshots to WIN Single A State?"..Not who will upset people to make it to the state....

Well just to remind you, In 2004, CPA was supposed to buzzsaw its way through the state tourny, and see what happened to them... No dissrespest, UC is the best team in the state, but that dosen't mean they're a 100% sure lock to win... A long, LONG shot might be Freindship Christian, or UH, but who knows...

Oakland is 3rd? Is this some kind of a joke? No way they are third. They could beat all of the other teams listed, without a doubt.

    Oakland couldn't run with Raleigh-Egypt.

Thanx for the clarification on D-B. I know a lot about Hampton sports history, but not too much about D-B. I suppose the lesson here would be to stick to what I know about wouldn't it? Anyway, do you have any idea just how many times Hampton has made it to the state?

    '60, '62, '81, '83, and '92... Those are the only ones I know of...

your right im thinking about just letting you people go on your mary way ps can you tell me about the rumors of coach mclain

    I sure can

P.S. You may want to step down from your position as "HHS Director of questions" if you think that Hampton has won 2,250 games and 7 state championships.

    "Note"

This fourm is only for questions directly to the players/coaches no discussion will be made unless it is a direct question to a player or coach. so unless there is a question than you will not be allowed to post on the board thank you ...

    HHS Director of questions

Well then you've already lost control of this thread, director

I feel that West Carroll has a great shot to go this year. Their team is based off of performance in the paint and on the perimeter. They are a great on the ball defense and their zone isn't half bad. They might not come out on top but they will go to state.

Aren't they in the same region with Lake County, Humboldt, Halls, Trenton, Union City, Dresden, and Bradford???

I have no idea... You might want to find one of those old timers at one of your games and ask him that.

  10. QUOTE(Coach Slick Rick @ Jan 22 2007 - 03:39 PM) 826341258

How did Slick Pujo's nephew do in this game? Has Slick Pujo been spotted at any basketball games lately?

If you keep your head on a swivel you can catch a glimpse of him every now and then.

Nobody is trying to protect a pedophile. My advice was to watch what you say because if you don't have proof or facts and you call specific names you can be held liable. No offense but alot of people know who you are and it wouldn't be hard for others to find out and you might just get a call you don't want. If the parents don't come forward to make something stick or it's not brought to the authorities attention then you best keep your mouth SHUT. I don't want this to happen or the persons responsible to get by with it anymore than the next person but you have to use common sense sometimes and I'm wondering if you have any with your bold print signatures. Sounds to me like your going to get your goose cooked by alot of people with all the comments you've been making. Sometimes it's better to observe than to speak.

I apprecieate the advice, really I do... But I know people know who I am, and I don't really care. I don't put anything on here that I wouldn't tell anyone else.

  12. QUOTE(Dawgfan88 @ Jan 22 2007 - 03:21 PM) 826341229

Sorry to dispute you, but we have one state title, from 1960. There are two state runner-ups, from the 1980-81 season and from the 1982-83 season. Just how many state tourney appearances we've made is a good question, but the last tme was in the 1991-92 season, in AA. I remember having a book at some point that had us winning around 1100 games, and that was about 10 years ago. We haven't really burnt up the win charts since, but I'd put us at about 1500 wins or so. It was interesting to note the Kingsport milestone, but I'm sure Science Hill did some chuckling of their own: All those wins and no state title. It would be great if HHS could get the wins flowing like they used to, and make more state tourney appearances again. They're one of the old-time powers of high-school basketball, with a lot of history and tradition. Hopefully we'll make it again.

DB has one state title, back in 1945. They've gone 27 times and have a record of 49-26. They've been runners-up 4 times... The state tourney used to have 16 teams didn't it? That would explain 49 wins and only 5 appearances in the championship game.

  13. QUOTE(demondog1 @ Jan 22 2007 - 03:19 PM) 826341227

SO, WHEN BOTH TEAMS MAKE IT TO STATE, YOU'LL ADMIT THAT YOU JUST OPENED YOUR MOUTH AND MADE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID?

    THAT TAKES A BIG PERSON!

Sure will... But I don't really have that much to worry about, cause it won't happen.

  14. QUOTE(devilfanatic @ Jan 22 2007 - 01:19 PM) 826341099

Hey Ranger who will they most likely play in the substate? I am not as up to date on east tn basketball so any info would be great! df

Someone from District 1 for sure. Right now the two sub-state teams look to be Universty School and Cloudland. Hampton has the talent to get in, but they have a knack to underachieve and are going through a major problem right now. Unaka is in a nose dive, and it seems very unlikely that they'll make it, but stranger things have happened.
