I support LA almost as much as I support CHS. I would really like to see the two teams play in cookeville's jamboree. Yes, we always play york (i dont know why), but I think that LA and CHS would be a much more entertaining game. Of course CHS would most likely win because they are just in a bigger region and have many more students, but it would still be cool to see them play.

No, actually I can tell you that the cav faithful has no worries. Now, if we only had one win and it was week four or five then yes, we would be a little down in spirits. It is WAY to early in the season for any team to be down.

The emotion involved in the friday night game after 9-11 was an experience no high scool football player or fan will ever forget. Many high school's had a pre-game moment of silence and some sort of memorial sevice with the high school band playing some of our american songs. I know my high school did and to be a part of it was a tremendous feeling. I can just remember looking around me and seeing our fans crying and feeling the pain of loss inside of me. I also noticed that it seemed like both teams on the field were acting as if we were just one team. The sportsmanship on the field was awesome. I think that the NFL and NCAA should have also continued with their games to prove to the rest of the world and to the cowardly killers of 9-11 that america will not fall. I am proud of the TSSAA and for their decision in continuing play on friday night. It was a very good decision.

well, maybe not the most welcoming, but the stadium that gets the blood pumping the most is visiting "the pit" in Lincoln county. a victory down there feel's almost as good a a region championship.

I think it is a great rule and it should stay. The only time I like to see a celebration in the end zone is when a big offensive or defensive lineman scores and gets the glory for once because chances are, they won't be back in the endzone. I have seeing these running backs and WR's and all scoring positions scoring and acting like they are some hot stuff. Since when does any team score w/o an offensive line anyway??

You obviously did not follow the cavaliers last season. They are in the exact same situation this year and will probably do the same thing. Cookeville is still a favorite.

After week one of region play, do not count Cookeville out. Dont forget about last year. Exact same scenerio. Its going to be a four way battle because all of the teams are tough this year, except warren co (not meaning to be disrespectful, I wish you guys all of the luck in the world). Good luck to all region 3-5a teams this year. GO CAVS!!

Don't be down LA, you have to keep your heads high. Its just one loss and you have to put it behind you and win out. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.

I can't stand everybody looking at Region 3-5A and telling us that this is the weakest Region. I have to pull for Lincoln county this week and become a "temporary falcon". I predict lincoln county 28 - Riverdale 24

Just like dog11 said, the season is very early. We are in the same situation this year as we were in last year. Im sure that Cookeville is looking for something to blame, but we need to face the facts.... we played sloppy football. The cavs can not give up, however. Keep your chins up and keep charging toward that region championship and remember that NOBODY thinks that you guys can do it but the people you see on the team and the loyal fans in the stands. Believe it or not, there are a BUNCH of them. We gotta look at lebanon, but not OVERlook them just because we kicked their rear ends last year. They are definately going to bring their A-game, especially after last year. We may not have the size that we had last year to beat them, but this year we are unusually fast. Buckner, Turner, and Ledford need to step it up as leaders and get their team back on track. Scalf, Mata, Bates, and Timmons need to get that offensive line back to full strength. I'm sure that Joslin, Medlin, and Cook will have the cavs ready for next week despite this loss. You just gotta remember what happened last year how we had to make everybody believers out of us, and do it again this year. Good luck Cavs vs Lebanon and the rest of the season.

I don't know if I would call Lebanon a "good" team. They have had one winning season since 1995 (2000, I think) I saw them play in week 1 against Antioch. I didn't see the Wilson Central game but from what I know they have a few talented skill people but the line is still pretty weak, IMO. They better get that straightened out somehow this week b/c I know Cookeville will line up and play smash mouth football. Hoping for a good game from the Blue Devils!!

My correction, maybe lebanon has not always been considered a "good" team, but they have always been considered a better team than Cookeville. Last year's huge shutout proved that wrong, however, but the cavs need to prove they can do it again and beat them on friday.

I have to say that lincoln county definately has the coolest stadium. Down in a big hole and called "the pit"; that had to be the only field that was more eye catching. After six years of football, I have to say "THE PIT" is my favorite (other than home field of course).

You can bet lebanon will have a good team. One thing that lebanon has established over there is consistency. They have always been considered one of the "good teams". Cookeville, on the other hand, is in the beginning stages of their legacy. Last year with the region championship, and now this year they hope to do the same. They really need to show that they can be consistent and beat the blue devils.

I'm obviously rooting for CHS and really think they will pull out a big region win this week. I doubt, however, that Cumberland county will beat Franklin county. Good luck to all teams, and GO CAVS!!!

It's all about having heart. The guys have to find it in their heart to do well and to show respect to the game.....untill they do so, it's gonna be ugly for a while in WC. In best regards, however, I hope they do get better. Good luck to you guys struggling down in WC.

Cookeville will win this region matchup. Everybody keeps talking about CCHS having lost a great quarterback and that is why they beat CHS last year, but lemme tell ya..... the cavs were overconfident coming into this situation last year and that is why they lost. CHS should have put a beating on them as they did in 2001. Joslin will have the cavs much better prepared mentally for this game and they will pull a win over CCHS. Its time for CCHS to look at the facts...... you weren't meant to be at the top of this region. Go get 'em Cavs.
