  1. i like this matchup, the winner of this game will give huntingdon a run for cookeville. i think both these coaches have great football minds and will have thier teams prepared for the game. i see the advantage going to the home team though. WC over CA by 7 good luck to both teams.
  2. Radio, you do realize that Milan will probably win 3A state championship this year with Alcoa being so down... that win by Huntingdon is VERY impressive. PC struggled against a weak Joe Byrns last week and got spanked by WC the week before. Going into the WC game i didnt see many stopping the vikings but a huge chip has been found in that armour. i dont think PC can stop Huntingdon from running the ball and the clock; this game will probably play out a lot like the pc/wc game... Stangs win 35-6.
  3. Here is an interesting fact about this game... The only team to come close to stopping CA (only scored 7) was Portland High School: the Defensive Coordinator of Portland is an alum of Wayne County and was coach under Rice at Perry county... i wonder if any brain storming sessions went on between the two this week???? i give the edge to WC.
  4. Wildcat 89 is right... PC runs a spread offense where the qb has many wr options on every pass, he probably had 2 to 3 short routes and 1 to 2 deep routes. if he cant get those first downs it is not the play called it is the qb that couldnt find the first down.
  5. dont you think he was calling the same plays that got them to 9-0? dont you think Waynesboro's defense had a little to do with him not being able to throw for first downs? why are you all of a sudden questioning the play calling?
  6. last year, it was a game and both athletes put on a show... this year he was completly shut down... if coaches have not already voted for him (i know some have) that may have changed some minds; especially if it happens this week as well.
  7. houston county has had a tremendous year and looks to have found a way to right that ship but i think it ends this week @ forrest.... but i would like to see the irish pull one out.
  8. joe byrns has absolutly shut down any offense that PC has had for two years running. if they shut it down last year, they can do the same this year. i see no reason to think that PC has found any defense this week other than blitz random gaps and hope for the best. JB wins this by at least 21... deja vu for PC and i really hate that for Tucker... may cost him mr. football.
  9. i find it interesting how PC fans are all of a sudden questioning the play calling another said that defensive calling seemed "panicked". i am guessing it was the same calls as had been all year long... just against a better team. the MO of Perry County is to choke in big games against good coached teams... probably will see the same this week against jo byrns.
  10. good point about the refs... 1A teams usually get the worst refs but since this is such a big game maybe it will not be a factor... Home field advantage is why i am picking WC in a barnburner. i dont think the weather will be a factor for PC as some have claimed, Tucker will probably have a great game as always. should be a great atmosphere in the boro this friday night.
  11. dont get your panties in a wad... you play who you have to play. i am not bashing your schedule, although you play some overrated teams like CA but in today's 1A classification, you have to. CA wont get past the first round or even be 4th in SP's "4 team district" PC and WC would be 2nd and 3rd in that district btw.

  13. i was thinking of the Forrest game but, Every week i read on here where PC fans are saying they didnt play thier best or "A game" so i just guessed that was what you guys are referring to. obviously you beat terrible teams like CA, riverside, and cornersville in the first half.
  14. I have been waiting for this board to get back to intellegent football talk... PC and WC will be the best 1A game of the week and probably will be close as was last years match. i dont see triple overtime but a barnburner nontheless. PC has been pretty good on defense but have not faced anyone like WC, PC defense uses alot of blitzing with CANNOT be done against a veer or any option for that matter (football 101) but does the DC know that...probably not. WC secondary better be spot on and bring pressure on Tucker at the same time... easier said than done. WC is pretty tough at HOME and PC ususally starts slow on the road which they cannot afford to do this week as in weeks past. i am going with WC in this one... 35 to 28. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  15. Rhodes is NO Where close to the best Wide out in the state! maybe the best in your region (which is the weakest i have ever seen it) Clarksville Aca has the best Wide out in the state in 1A. i am pretty sure the best wide out in the state plays in 5a/6a class. This game should be good.
  16. Best D in 1A... is he going to the Wayne County game as well?
  17. i agree on some good points you have made. although i think the first hire of Tim Seymore was a good hire, this one was a swing and miss. he hired someone that promised the world and exciting spread offense he was lost on the fact that Haywood's success has always come with hard nose rushing based football. Haywood may not win another game this year and it is hard to take. i hope the players and students cope better than some fans though. hang in there and never quit.
  18. great game... FC just couldnt get the offense rolling off the creekbank.
  19. i couldnt help myself are you referring to Richland being blind joke or the cheating joke? jk. i take it back.
  20. Are you kidding? The Richland school of the blind will bring thier A game and still get shut out by 99% of Tennessee Schools. Tucker wins big... even without CHEATING
  21. The inconsistencies in where they live is why they are in the shape they are in... no one knows where they live... or why they live there. they do not have "a bona fide change of addresses that requires a change in school" as much as i hate this for PC and for the student athlete because the Adults in charge are the ones who schemed this up but the Adults still have a job... still get to coach/teach, but the boys are punished... what a shame. The TSSAA got it right. still stinks but got it right non the less.
  22. if you REALLY want to know the truth... go talk to your principal, if a punishment was handed down then he would have or know the official TSSAA document. All the stories i have read or saw on T.V. are exaclty the same.
  23. the articles and the TSSAA report are pretty cut and dry: facts are that the Administration turned in the facebook posts...not neighboring county. facts are that the TSSAA has clearly stated rules and whether you like them or not ALL schools are required to follow and believe this or not... Perry County is the not first one to get caught. Facts are PC coaches and administration knew there may be a problem or they would have no reason to turn in facebook posts. We live in a country of Due Process and i assure you that all avenues are covered by the TSSAA and have acted on the rules as stated in the laws of TN highschool football. can you imagine football without a governing body? coaches would be going all over the state to recruit players to thier highschool team... then the PC's of the world would be asking.... no begging... for rules becuase if that was the case Tucker would be playing for Riverdale, Maryville, or Alcoa. Accept the consequences and move on.... if you want someones head, seems to me you would look to the admin/coach for allowing the whole thing to happen. cmon man.
  24. Go Cats, i love veer football and glad to see it back in Waynesboro. WC by 21.
  25. A man from Perry County once told me..."if you aint cheating, you aint trying" The best PC can do now is 7-0 record. so this means a team with 8-2 record gets in the playoffs and PC is left out of the playoffs or has to go on the road as a lower seed. if there are many 8-2 teams out there... PC could technically get left out of the playoffs. not likly but the possiblity is now out there. ONE loss could eliminate them completly. There is no excuse for this kind of error... i hate it for the players but the head coach had to know there was a doubt in the eligibily of the players, in small schools like PC the Head coach is usually responsible for reporting eligiblity to TSSAA. The worse part of the whole matter is... they didnt need the kids to help Tucker win. Another thing to think about.... Could missing the playoffs cost Tucker Mr. Football? Way to go Coach!!
