Could someone please verify Eliz girls & boys game times and location??

Dunno Book? Where's the King when you really need him? Lady Cyclones as expected but what about that boys game? Wasn't it like 26-24 or something?

A good core of the boys chose to play baseball thru the summers and thier success can be measured just as the girls basketball team. The addition of Coach Payne and Coach Weems topped off their summer efforts. There is success throughout the system, and alot of the credit goes directly to the young men and youngladies thru the sport of their choice.

Here are a few starters: Offense.... Phillips, QB / Sullivan South Sensabaugh, WR / Dobyns Bennett Ringley, WR / Sullivan South Atwood, RB / Johnson County Defense.... Smith, FS / Elizabethton Dykes, MLB / Sullivan South Kitzmiller, SS / Sullivan South Throp, DB / Dobyns Bennett Big Dude LB from Dobyns Bennett (sorry...can't think of his name right now...#19, I believe) There's a starter for everyone to biotch about

And while we worry ourselves with one another, South Greene is moving right along. It will be a battle for the two regional spots. Whew.....

You can see it however you like, but Elizabethton controlled the game from the early onset. ***Not the officials*** However, I do feel your pain of losing. Our football season humbled me and my son and taught lessons that won't be forgotten anytime soon. Hang in there. Your girls are better than what they are displaying on the floor. Or have the officials been after Unicoi all season? Trully, they don't seem to be playing well together and I believe there has to be some underlying reason other than softball taking it's toll. AND be proud of that softball team as well. They seem to keep everyone in check in this area.

I saw them against Eliz and if left open, the shooters are nailing the 3. Just keep #21 inside.

As an old dried up ex-official, I never ever went into a game thinking that I had to keep the foul count even for both squads. Would that be fair to a less aggresive team? No official should step on the court to "keep the fouls more even". With that said, I didn't see a big problem with the officiating. Yes, they missed a few but they were missed on both ends of the court. Complaining about officials is a cop-out. Sorry...... And yes, I've complained myself quite a bit over the years. Still......a cop-out. Don't put yourself in a position to let an official decide a call or a game. Simple as that. Just not as easy as it sounds. I thought the Elizabethton girls moved better and positioned themselves in the paint much better than the Unicoi ladies. Evidenced by the score by mid 3rd quarter when Betsy went into a 'semi-stall' which did cause the Devils to foul often. I don't see that anyone thinks Unicoi is "over-rated". I do think that most realize that something is out of sync on the team. They are better than what they are playing. Maybe you could enlighten us on what the problem is down there?

Close game very early. Unicoi is too strong in the paint and were nailing open 3s. They play a good game of 'team ball'. Impressive. Although I'm a Cyclone fan, I also appreciate the amount of 'back-door' cuts they get for lay-ups. A very well coached team who execute thier game plan. They have came a long way from early in the season. Good luck!

Elizabethton's scoring was held down in the second half due to 'running' the clock. Everyone's numbers could have been better had Weems chosen to continue running his regular offense thru the 3rd quarter. He coached to win and it is hard to second guess that Guess they all 'coach to win'?

Hey, you guys have the package for this area's AA ball. Ike has always been a favorite of mine. Good guy, great post player. He would be a great fit at Milligan or other schools. Any word on college? CONGRADULATIONS to you guys!

Unicoi's attempt to rough it up inside backfired. Although I thought the Cyclones began the 'run the clock' mode a bit too early (mid 3rd qtr. up by 18+), they cruised to an easy victory with a stellar team defensive effort. Shots did not come easy for the Devils, inside or out. Big Pet cleared the paint along with Lil Pet and Bush. The perimeter D was a match to the inside D. Great physical effort from the Cyclones!

Ditto....... but tonight will decide alot for two of the top three.

I must say, Very Well Said. We may not be happy at times but the PRIDE is always there.

King, it has been a rough year, but I don't think any of your boys will enjoy being on a baseball field with the Cyclones. Can't wait......and it will be something to be proud of. How's Cloudland's baseball looking?

Nice Cyclone win at Hampton tonight. Sorry to have missed it by you may have gotten your spread on the $, 17.

You have to keep in mind who is the head of the 'Blue School' at this time. A micro-manager, so there is only so much any AD can do at this time. Not much will change unless it is by resignation brought on by one's own analysis OR a change in thier job at the school. Just my humble opinion Some changes will come over the next couple of years but it may not be where they are needed. Good luck!

The 'rollercoaster' call high school sports. The best 'ride' in this town and it has been a dandy. As I tell my kid, FINISH RIGHT!

Only time will tell the truth for all of these teams but today, Elizabethton is, without a doubt, #1
