  1. What happened in Portland to make Gallatin wear your P on their helmets?

Tragic car wreck taking the lives of 2 students and 2 more at Vanderbilt in critcal condition. I heard Portland other area schools, Beech, Gallatin, etc. had students wearing purple today to honor those lost this week. Class act by a bunch of good kids. :thumb:  B)

Here is quad 2 match ups:

    #1 Loudon (10-0) vs #8 Macon Co. (5-5)

    #4 Signal Mountain (8-2) vs #5 DeKalb Co. (5-5)

    #3 Hixson (8-2) vs #6 Page (6-4)

    #2 Livingston Academy (9-1) vs #7 Chattanooga Central (6-4)

  3. PPride, there seems to be this thought from all the Portland fans that things will be fixed once they move back down.  I just don't see that being the case.  The problem is deeper than that.  Let's look at that a little deeper (and I do mean a LITTLE).  They are currently losing to the same teams they'll be playing next year.  The real benefit is moving back to Regions v. District and smaller opponents being more willing to put them on the schedule since they will no longer be punished for out of district losses.  I'm thinking they need to schedule Red Boiling Springs, Sale Creek, Houston County, etc. for their out of region games.  Maybe pick up a win or two.

It's not just dropping to 4A that changes it and to think so is just not accurate.  As I said before, the problem is a lot deeper.

I don't know. Everything went very well for us until 2005, when we moved up in classification. I know it's based on enrollment, but we have had little or no success since then. Putting us against 6A schools sure hasn't helped us any either. I'm sure there are other factors that most don't know about. All I know is , it's hard on the young men who go out there and work their tails off all week in practice.

  4. It is a great atmosphere, liked to have been here back in their run at the state a decade ago.

Ah, the good ol' days! Now those were some great times! I hope we can eventually get back to those winning ways again. Maybe after this year, when we move back down.

Wow, howd I miss all this, lol. MJ all I said was if ya want to post the scores of whomever MJ beats, do it in the right thread, which would have been the one in the 5A/6A forum. Ya dont post in a thead about Greenbrier and Portland. If I offened ya in anyway, I apologize. That was not my intent, kind of  a long the same lines as you comparing yourself to a tool....thanks PP and BK, glad I have earned a few peoples respect. Now back to the original intent of this thread....It was good seeing a coupld of the Greenbrier Bobcats my son has grown up with, #5 and #18. They both played a whale of a ball game and I hope #18's ankle heals up, the kid had tears in his eyes but kept chugging away. I talked to both before and after the game, they have grown into fine young men and Id be proud to call either my son. I told #5 how proud of him that I was, and he said thanks, Im trying, I said son, it has nothing to do with football, my wife and I are proud of you for your recent baptism. I know your Dad has to be proud. They ran the ball well and it was a great defensive game, we just made too many penalties, mostly for false starts. But the kids never gave up. It was just a good football game. Their #38 ran the ball great as well. I wish Greenbrier well the rest of the season. It was also nice having both teams have a team prayer after the game. That was classy.  I will post a link to all 1000 photos I took tonight on my flickr account, please pass the link on to any Greenbrier parent.

Defense looked pretty good Friday night, but the offense kept shooting themselves in the foot. Way to many penalties! Saw some other things I didn't like in the offense as well, but that's not to be shared here. Anyway, good luck to the Bobcats the rest of the season, and hopefully, we'll get a win at some point.

Rudy did get some good footage for the 10:00 report on Channel 4! :)
