Well it tells me they are he scouting Westmoreland or Portland and not the other 8 teams they have to play. We are later in the season and he had red on?  Go figure

Really? Thanks for clearing that up Termite but does Westmoreland really have anything to lose? Lafayette is twice the size school of Westmoreland. Shouldn't they beat us every year by law of shear numbers? Please take it easy on us Tiggers.

No matter what happens, I believe it will be better than last season. Good luck to the Buzzards from Motown. A 21 - 14 win for the Bison a couple of weeks ago over H'ville tells me this is going to be another great game. It's true, it's hard to beat a good team twice in the same season. Hendersonville is good and is well coached. I may be wrong, but I'm thinking the Commandos may pull this one out tonight. Good luck to both teams and represent 9AAA well.

Message to BigReid - Sorry to hear about Imallin. My prayers and support go out to you and your family during this time of loss. I wish I could have met him at some point, but I don't get back to Smith County as much as I used to. May God bless and watch over you and give you strength through this sad time.

Who has DC ever done well against until recent years? They are 111-169 since 1985.

Well, then I guess you understand what I'm saying.   I just decided to take it to more of a detailed personal level between just the two teams.  

DC hasn't done well against the Owls, ever! (10-29 since 1927) As a matter of fact, DC hasn't beaten the Owls twice in a row since '78 and '79. Chances are, the Owls are going to win this one since it's in "The Hole". I tend to agree with the odds. The Owls win in a close one, 22-21.

I agree with what a lot of you have said. Thanks runninblind for mentioning Panther Pride. There has been a great decline in our program since Coach Perry left and since we moved up in classification. Personally, I think a lot of these kids get burned out after playing football 8 or 10 years before high school, especially in a small town. You didn't start playing until the 7th grade in my day, and we were hungry to get into high school and play. I didn't play for PHS, but have lived here almost 30 years, and the sudden growth in this town over the past 10 years has been astounding! It's difficult for a small town with great traditions transition to, "We're as big as the big schools, now", when really, we're not. We are still one of the smallest 5A schools in the state. Remembering the success in 3A, when we played for three State Championships, winning one of them, and now not winning on every Friday night, it takes it's toll on the kids. Parents too, for that matter. Panther Pride will return, but the school has to give the coaches the opportunity to make it happen.........and the time to allow it to.
