How did the Kingston girls look?

It would be nice to do this, but like kazam just stated you need to be thankful for the 2 divisions. Everyone was grouped together about 4 yrs ago, so the small schools didn't have a chance.

All I can say is what goes around comes around. In the late 80's and 90's Scott Co. had tons of tall girls and beat teams by 40 and 50 points similar to what O.S. does now. Every team has a down cycle and you all are in one now. It will get better, but teams need to remember they will be down at some point when they beat teams by 40 and are still pressing the 4th quarter. Give the new guy a chance , good grief. It takes longer than 1 season to turn a team around.

Cherokee boys and girls will both play at Carpenters Sat starting at 3:00.

Will the roane co teams be able to play tomorrow if there is no school?

The answer is no. Nobody can upset the lady bobcats unless someone kidnaps the Christopher girl. They are 30 pts better than any team in that district.

At Eagleton the teams are : Oliver Springs, Rockwood , Greenback, Midway, Harriman, And Lenoir City

Rodgers was the only one out. He should be back for the districts.

I'm not sure you can say both teams played great. Both teams did play hard, but that was one of the sloppiest games I have ever seen. Passing was horrible. Kingston seemed to just throw it down the floor and pray someone was there to catch it and why does each team insist on trying to throw over the top of the taller defender. Half of the turnovers were caused by that pass. If the kingston girls don't get it together, Rockwood will beat them next time. I was impressed with the improvement of Rockwood's Chapman. They have a hustling team, if they ever learn to shoot, look out. Same goes for Kingston girls, shoot, shoot , and shoot some more, then when your'e done how about shooting a few free throws. At least the majority of the girls playing last night were young. The future looks bright for both teams.

They never update the one to watch either. They still have both Rockwood girls and boys listed and they boys just lost to Wartburg and Harriman and the girls got stomped by Loudon who is not mentioned.

I am so sick of people whining about people not being politically correct. I have watched alot of basketball and have always heard the bench being referred to as scrubs, even if they are as great as you say. Get over it and quit getting your feelings hurt. When those girls are starting they can call someone else a scrub. Not everything in life goes directly by Webster's dictionary.

What's the story behind the ejection? I knew he got tossed at Midway, but wasn't sure why?

Thoughts on this games? Kingston has had two tough games this week with the hard fought loss to AE on Tues and the 5 overtime win last night against Meigs. Will this hurt the jackets? They have the talent to easily handle the bobcats, but you never know.

Who won the girls game?

It might stay clsoe for a quarter, but then O.S. will roll. Kingston girls are down. They are playing several freshman.

Loudon is a good team with several returning key players and some good freshamn. They played O.S. a tough game the other night. However Rockwood is on a roll and they have some very tough girls. I think Loudon will win, but it should be close.

Did Smith and Harris play at Riceville Middle?

Will OS be in the district with Rockwood and Harriman? They are going to dominate in Single A.

Who was the coach and why was he fired?

Why are they without half of their varsity team?

We have this debate every year, and no one ever agrees. It depends on the circumstances. If a team has their subs in and is pressing late, it may be because that is the style of play the team has and those players need to work on pressing too. I say all is fair in the first half, no matter what the lead is because the starters need to get their time in. After half time the bench needs to be cleared if it is a run away. There are some coaches notorious for running up the score but it always comes back to bite them eventually. You can't get upset over it, just work harder so your team will be prepared next time.

Doesn 't take long for the disgrunteled parents to get on here. Geez the season hasn't even started for most teams.

I wasn't trying to put pressure on Kayla, I was just complimenting her. Being compared to Laura Hall is an honor. I don't like to hear talk about middle shcool kids on here either, but she is a player worth mentioning, especially when it is something positive. The main reason I brought her up is because it is rare to see a young player that is as good is she is that doesn't act ike she is god's gift to bball. She is a class act.

Why do you say Kingston is STILL down? They were not down last year. O.S. won't have to worry long, maybe this year, but the heir to Laura Hall's throne is one her way. The Christopher girl in the 8th grade is the real deal. She is a great player that could start on most of this area's high school teams, not at all cocky either.

Its a shame that you have to beg girls to play. What do you think the problem is? This is not just a problem at Harriman. I have seen this at other schools and in other sports.
