  1. Normally I would agree. But changes were made last off season and we see how that turned out. As for the difference in competition... The same argument was made about Creasy when he interviewed for the job. We see what he has done in just his first year at Oakland. People argued that Quarles would suffer from tougher competition when Maryville moved up, but they are as dominant as ever. Coaches who win at the level of these guys simply find ways to win, no matter the classification.

  3. I'm gonna go ahead and put it out there. Gallatin needs to go after Darren Bowling from Union City. I'd make him say no. Tornadoes have won 37 in a row, averaged like 60 points a game, and had 4 shutouts this year. Coaches like that are very rare in this state, and since we screwed up by not hiring Creasy, we need to go after a guy like Bowling.

  4. I certainly didn't mean to spark an argument. I'm merely concerned about the football program I've loved since I was old enough to know what a football was. It hurts to see Gallatin in such a dilapidated state. I understand rebuilding years. Talent is cyclical. But we are getting absolutely blown out by our competition lately. The most frustrating thing about all this to me is that since Calvin Short left, we have been systemic in turning down the right coach - only to hire the wrong one. Joslin instead of Rankin... Williams instead of Crabtree or Creasy... (Yes, all those coaches wanted the Gallatin job) The problem starts with the administration and QB club. Speaking of that, who is the current president of the gallatin qb club? if what I heard is correct, it's a beech alum??? Surely that information isn't true, right? Smh... I just don't get it. Gallatin has the talent pool, the money, the facilities, the fan support, and the tradition. Heck, we even have huge businesses (Gap, Beretta, etc...) to recruit players and parents like they do at Maryville and Alcoa. The one thing Gallatin lacks is leadership at an administrative and coaching level that demands excellence. Perhaps those days are gone for good, but I sure hope not.

  5. I think it's pretty clear that Williams isn't going to be winning any championships at Gallatin. He's currently at .500 since his start as HC if my math is correct. Here's my question... What would Crabtree and Hatfield have done with this very same roster? I think it's a valid question, seeing as they are the competition every year. This is a very unimaginative staff, and I think that has shown with how teams have been scheming us as of late. The biggest question of all, however, is how much does the administration care? Does the principal, AD, QB club, etc have a desire to win championships? Recent history has said no...

  6. Awesome game.  MJ got all the calls in the first half, but they seem to have gone in favor of the Wave in the 2nd.  Banks and Redding had a huge game, combining for over 300 yards of offense.  Also, does anybody have an injury update on Mason?  I saw that they had his ankle iced and elevated.  Hopefully just a sprain, because we are going to need him going into the playoffs.  Great win for Gallatin, and hats off to MJ for fighting till the last second.  Their record doesn't indicate the grit of that team.  Go Green Wave!

  7. i think so gwave... you'd think he would be spending his free time not to post on high school message boards, but to work on penetrating the lane. dude needs some practice. dont get me wrong, he is a great shooter... but come on jenkins, be more athletic for goodness sake. btw, is everyone simply overlooking the fact that crabtree obviously doesnt want to be at beech anymore? yet, many ppl are putting them at the top of the district. i just dont see it. team chemistry will be an issue this year for the bucs.

  8. maybe if you would stop coming up with stupid nicknames for schools that clearly already have nicknames (and coaches too iirc), one could understand the jibberish you are putting on here. im expecting it to come down to hville, gtown, and mj - with the edge to the commandos. beech will go 5-5, maybe 6-4... perry will have mj winning 7 or more games, but the wing t will be their demise in the playoffs - yet again. hendersonville could be anywhere from a 6 win team to a 9 win team. same goes for gallatin. the oakland game is going to be tough, as they return alot. i wouldnt be surprised if they win their district. sc will be the same ole bison. great athletes, poor coaching. portland, lebanon, and wc really arent worth mentioning - although, i could see either the cats or the blue devils sneaking into that last playoff spot if things go their way. but im telling you guys.... if by some miracle we hire kevin creasy, get ready for alot of undefeated regular seasons from gallatin.

  9. Well GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!

Stay as long as you'd like. I started to post on y'all's thread but, you're right, it was so boring I couldn't think of anything to say.

By the way, has anyone told you how good Henry County is today?

They haven't actually. But I have heard some ramblings about how Sumner County owns your field... I've got an idea. You guys should forfeit home field advantage in the 4th round. Because it is inevitable that you will see either us, Hville, Beech, or Station Camp... I loathe the other three, so since you guys can't beat a sumner co team at home, maybe you should just try to travel down this way if you don't end up playing us. I'd like your chances better that way. :)

  10. Four or five touchdowns????? You my friend are plain ignorant. What was your prediction for your game against Oakland last week 7 or 8 touchdowns??? This will be a one score game regardless who wins. It is a coin flip.

No sir... Actually, I said that Oakland had the athletes to compete with MJ. I've seen both teams play, and I knew MJ wouldn't blow their doors off. I've also seen the Stars play... MJ will absolutely destroy them. This is not a good matchup for the Seagulls.

  11. Gallatin posters must have finally realized they weren't playing the Patriots tonight.

This, in fact, is not a fact - FactsOnly.... I want you guys to know something. I respect HenryCo fans more than any other fanbase outside of my Green and Gold. The FACT is that our Hendersonville thread is boring as crap right now, and I'm just trying to stir up some hype JUST IN CASE we have to travel to Paris. Plus I'm just having a little fun.

  12. Some of you people are delusional. Seriously... Look, you guys play in a crap district with crap opponents. You can't help that, so I'm sorry. But face it, you guys are going to get let down yet again.... And it will be because you haven't played anyone... AGAIN. Perhaps I should point out AGAIN that Gallatin beat a 6-4 Glencliff team 35-0. Henry County beat a 5-5 Munford team 42-14. I hope the Green Wave has to go to Paris, because it would be electric. Games like that are what made me love this sport in the first place. But sorry HC, until you start having to deal with a decent district schedule, it's gonna bite you in the playoffs. Maybe you could at least do like us and schedule tough pre-season scrimmages (ie. Riverdale twice, Blackman, Smyrna, White House, etc...)

  13. Fun fact: Gallatin in that same span is 26-17 over "teams in Middle Tennessee not in Sumner County, not in the same district, not wearing blue and orange, or black and gold, and so on! True..Gallatin has the advantage on Henry County in this area given the fact that the Green Wave has ample opportunity to play more "non-district" "Middle Tennessee Teams" than do the Patriots! 26-17 is not necessarily "cleaning house" either. Nor does HC, when playing these "Middle Tennessee" teams which you stratigically chose...schedule or forced to play the Lebanons, Glencliffs, and other "metro sisters of the poor"!

p.s. Gallatin over this same time period is 0-1 against teams from the state of Ohio. (just another "fun fact")

I wish I could have seen how HC would've done against McKinley... As for the records over middle tn teams, I'll take our 60% winning percentage over HC's 18%...

  14. WOW! Blackman lost to Riverdale, I-train or not, and you leave Riverdale out of this equation. The only reason Mt. Juliet would make it to the finals is because Riverdale and Maryville are in the upper bracket. Then MJ still has to get past some good teams such as Whitehaven and Arlington.

Blackman with a healthy I-Train would have and will beat Riverdale.

  15. Is Boise St the Reigning National Champion ?

Maryville is the Reigning State Champion , plus they played in the first 6A State Championship too .

Sorry, I guess that's a poor comparison since Boise St has no shot of winning a National Championship as it stands currently. But the intent of the argument is the same. Maryville has to get up to play like 1 or 2 tough teams a year, and that is it. Put Maryville in Rutherford, Williamson, or Sumner County and I bet they don't fare as well.

  16. I misunderstood. When you said Middle Tennessee, I thought you meant teams that were neither in West Tennessee nor East Tennessee.

You guys are not fooling anyone. We enjoy the banter. That said, we realize this is a game played by young people. We are very proud of our young people. You two clearly are also. We know this may not turn out as well as we hope, but we will remain excited until there is no longer reason to be. If this offends you guys, you really should step back and ask yourself why. All of us who post here are good, employed, family guys who are proud of our community. If you knew us, you'd like us and would probably agree with us when we express our opinions. We know that we won't get the opportunity to be this excited about our team forever, but for now we will.

Again, it is clear you are just trying to stir us up. I've laughed at all of your and all of my posts. Thanks for making my day go by faster!

Best post I've read in a long time, bud. I'm a worker too. No family, just a mid 20's guy that loves high school football. Unfortunately, I'm on medication that has kept me out of work all week - so all I have to do is post on message boards. I'm by no means trying to stir up anything. I just enjoy the back and forth. I, for one, hope for the HC/Gallatin matchup. I think it would be good for the sport, good for 5A, and I would expect 10,000 plus at that game.

  17. Are you saying that Alabama was NOT battle tested? Did LSU beat them by a whopping three points because they were battle tested and Bama was NOT? Since LSU was ranked ahead of Bama, then I don't follow your logic...or lack of.

Bama had played Arky.... That's it... Which, btw, was at Bryant Denny... LSU was on the road for like a freakin' month. So yes, I'm saying that Alabama was NOT battle tested to the extent that LSU was.
