Relax Barger, you had your shot at CLE.

Yep and was 2-0 vs Walker Valley giving up only 3 points in 2 years. Nice new profile and first post though.  Great job. If you want to discuss it further not hard to find. Would love the opportunity to talk face to face.

  3. RockyTop  I will have to respectfully disagree with you on the Cleveland's loss of talent. 2 years ago they lost a lot of talent (22 seniors) with 9 having the opportunity to play college football at some level. However they have most of the team from a 6-4 2022 season returning in 2023 Defensively they have 7 players returning that start all or some of last season off a team that averaged giving up 16 points again. 3 of 4 DBs return 2 of 3 LBS, and 2 of 4 End of year DL starters up front.  Offensively 8 of 11 starters return including 4 of 5 OL starters return as well as the return of  an OT who started 8 of 11 games as a So. in 2021 but missed last season due to an ACL injury.  They return a 1,000 yard rusher in Junior Isaiah Davis and the starting H-Back as well.  At WR Mycah Jordan returns in the slot. Where the losses were incurred were at  outside WR and QB but Cleveland has some young skill guys who can fill those spots.  Say all that to say this Cleveland will be a senior heavy team this year with a lot of experience so they should be a tuff out this season.

  4. I think the team a lot of folks aren't talking about from the East that could be in the mix is Red Bank. A lot of talent returns from their semifinal team including the entire DL, RB and top WR.  Could definitely be a sleeper for sure.

  5. If we are talking the greatest 1A/2A teams of all time I think you have to throw the 1992 Marion Co. Warriors in the mix. 15-0 state champion that beat Brentwood Academy in the 2A State title Game. The 1990 team was also very good and beat MUS in the state title game but just talking 1A/2A got to with 1992 Marion Co which was the beginning of their 56-1 run over 4 years and 3 state titles in that 4 year span.

  6. Congratulations Zack Rayl! So happy for you and the Greenback Community. Greenback you are getting a coach who will work tirelessly at restoring your program to the top of the 1A ranks where you expect to be. He is one of the best young minds I have had the pleasure to be around in the game. Good luck to my former colleague and friend.

  7. The host sites were decided by who won the district championships on the East side of the region bracket this year. Bradley won the girls title and was awarded the host site while McMinn boys won the boys title and earned the host site as well

  9. Was a really close game between 2 good teams. Cleveland ended up with 19 turnovers in the game and shot 25% (3-12) from the FT line and still had chances. obviously with the Turnovers, Bradley had something to do with that as well, played tuff aggressive D. Thought Cleveland was tight early in and the 1st quarter was difference as Bradley got out to A 14-4 lead. Rematch Tuesday but Cleveland has a big one tomorrow against a ranked Farragut team as well.

  11. No players from Stewarts Creek will be rezoned to Rockvale only to Blackman. However any players who are rezoned to the new school Rockvale will be immediately eligible and do not fall under the direct link rule because they did not move to follow a coach they were moved by the school system. Now if a player from Stewarts Creek moved to Rockvale zone they would not be eligible via direct link rule.

  12. Was a heck of a game to watch. Could have went either way. Cornersville earned the win. They executed and got the score and LC missed on their  opportunities. The sweep pass was wide open for 6 and RB overthrew him and then the TE screen that Cornersville interception was a TD if QB has gotten it over the DL-man. Ifs and buts though great game to watch and awesome crowd for both as well. Future is also bright for both teams so could have been a preview of the next couple years.

  13. What up Shocker,Bigster and Lakecounty1968! I am looking for a big LC win Friday night so I can make the trip to Huntingdon or Cornersville the day after Thanksgiving to see the green machine in action. Hope they get that pep bus going down to M-town Friday night to support the guys. You got some great leaders in the right spots in LC now that love LC athletics. Proud of the job the coaches and players are doing and wish them nothing but the best!

  14. A great honor for a first class individual and true LC Legend. State Champion QB and he has done so much for athletes and students in LC. No matter how successful he has become always has had time to take care of and help out his hometown!! Congrats and appropriate games are now played on Bill Wray Memorial Field in Jerry Reese Stadium!!

  15. Criticize all you want but this is the best move Chad has ever made by leaving the dumpster fire in Grundy. Better to just teach and watch games on Friday than work in that situation right now. Hate it for the kids but it is what it is. Chad is dang good coach and well respected in the profession. Has not had the record of Many by putting himself in some tuff coaching gigs. Did a great job at Cannon before having several good years at Sequatchie. Noone gonna win at Cohulla Creek and no real say on day to day stuff at Grundy. Hate to say it but personally glad he is out of that situation.

  16. Ok I will take the bait who is your favorite candidate? Especially with the following situation, 1. This late in year, 2. The pay and suppliment in BC. And 3. The potential ceiling as a coach in BC? Been on this business a long time and if he had listened to me would be in the Boro as well. He is his own man and is in a good situation now but whatever happens I wish nothing but the best for BCHS because I would not be the husband, father, teacher and coach I am today if it was not for my family, teacher's and Coaches I had in my hometown growing up.
