Oneida wins 3-2. Oneida is just down this year. I like Oneida but they will lose 3 games this year, 2 of them have came already, the other will be a drubbing against the Tigers of Sunbright. I hate to predict games that are a ways off this early, but current guess would be 26-6 when the Indians meet Sunbright.
Are you kidding me? Have you seen who Oneida has played compared to who Sunbright has played?
We lost by a total of 8 pts to a traditional powerhouse 3A & a very good 4A school w/a 3A Mr. Football finalist QB from last year who was the real deal & we have another good 3A school in 2 weeks. You beat N. Greene & Whitwell whipped your tails so where are you getting your basis for this drubbing we have in store for us "courtesy of Sunbright"? 
I think you better worry about Coalfield this week & you will get your shot @ Oneida soon enough but be careful what you wish for cuz you may bite off more than you can chew. -
We have about 3 starters that are banged up & questionable for this game. I hope if they can't play that somebody steps up & fills their shoes but it could play a part in certain aspects of the game though especially the kicking game.

Can't wait for this match up between 2 quality programs. I can't make the game as I will be at the Loudon / Lenoir City game, but I have the DVR already set up to record the game on WVLT. I am surprised to hear that Oneida will have the speed advantage. I might have guessed otherwise. I enjoyed CAK's trip to GP last year. Classy program and a great atmosphere to play a game. They also have very good concessions! I am going to pick GP by 7.
I hate to tell you but you might be a week early to the Loudon/Lenoir City game according to the schedules on here anyway.
So you might be free that nite to come watch the game Oneida/GP game. It should be worth checking out. -
The Grainger and Scott County score was 14-6 Scott. I did not see any of the other scores. Does anyone know how the rest turned out?
Oneida beat Union Co 26-0. They looked pretty good overall. The jv pretty much played the 2nd quarter & scored twice.

Just for the record Brown isn't playing this year. I saw his name mentioned a couple of times on this thread already & he hasn't even practiced that I'm aware of & I've been to almost every practice. I don't know the specifics exactly but I think he has the same medical issue he had last year. I saw him up there one day & asked him if he was coming back & he said he couldn't. Thats's a shame that he doesn't get to play his senior year & also a very good LB that we won't have this year as well. Best of luck to him & hopefully whatever his medical problems are can be corrected. I'm going w/Oneida on this one also. You can see them improving almost daily in practice. I think the 1st two games will be very tough but I think we will be competitive regardless of the outcome. Good Luck to the Indians & to GP (after this game

Yeah I have a son playing as a freshman this year & that's what he was telling me the other day. That should make for a little more excitement for the players as well.

Yes harley, GP & Oneida used to play on a regular basis. I have played in some of those games in the late 80's. It was always a good hard fought game on both sides. However, we always seemed to come up just a bit short on the winning side. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> I may be wrong but I can't recall if we have ever beaten GP. Who knows. Hopefully we may finally break thru into the win column this year against them but if we don't it will still be a good game for both teams to start the season out. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I have always had much respect 4 GP. Having a clue about what's going on??? Why read an article that only tells bits of pieces of it when you get the TRUTH straight from the horses mouth. If you wanted it to be part of the Oneida thread you easily could of stated something like Is TL coming back to OHS??? or I heard TL is stepping down at AC. what are his chances coming back to Oneida. Sometimes it's all about how you say things.

Well u know what I have more insight than what I always let on cuz I want to get other people's opinions bout things or maybe someone knows more than I do & I wanna hear what they have to say & not act like I'm the authority on ONEIDA. All I did was ask a simple question looking to feel out if anybody had any conversations w/anyone of merit to add to what I already knew so I don't appreciate being asked to move to another thread bout something that DOES pertain to ONEIDA just cuz I didn't word it to meet ur standards. Yeah i read that now. I've been hearing rumors past week or so that something was a little unsettled but I dont always put much in rumors although these were coming from a pretty reliable source. Thanks for the info. How would the coaches react to an outsider...is their loyalty to Oneida or to Coach Lambert. I can see that is going to be hard to wear shoes similar to his at OHS...much less fill them.
All of the coaches on the staff (w/the exception of Coach Buttram) coached/played @ Oneida b4 Coach Lambert came there to coach. As much as I am sure that they have respect & loyalty to him, I am sure that their true loyalties lie w/Oneida & will continue to work just as hard now as they did w/Coach Lambert. Once a new coach has been appointed, I expect that everybody will keep right on track & wish Coach Lambert the best of luck @ AC & move on w/Oneida football.

Well finally made it back safe & sound. (man, that Hwy 27 is straight). Let me start off by saying. "What a great atmospher last night". In the mountains on a friday night @ a high school fotball game.. Coming into the Reservation was Unique!. I stopped by the end-zone on the way in and finally was able to meet the "pujo" & "Batman21" along with Grunt & Seven. It was good to finally put a face with the names. Pujo you were absolutly correct about these young men from Oneida. These boys ment business last night! That is one fine fooball team, and program coach T.L has going on there!
During the 1st series of play I new were were going to have our hands full. Especially when we turned the ball over. (1st mental mistake , didn't need that happening). Defense stood tall keeping them out of the end-zone. When Oneida put the safety on us, I thought "dajavoo" (If that's spelt right). ( I could be wrong, but that safety Oneida gave to TC , might have been the 1st safety TC has given up in resent memory to my knowledge. you older one could clear that up).
All in All, those Indians gave us all we wanted for the 2nd wk in a row. Hats off to the community up there in those hills. The hospitality you gave was greate, a true testement to you community. As for the team, you guy have nothing to hang your heads about! the reflection you shown last night was from your coach, staff & team leadership that displayed the charactor of your classy program. you've got something special in the works there!
TC. What can I say that has not already been said... "Great Job" Congrats to Coach Creasy & Staff..

First off I want to say congratulations to my Injuns on a great season. You guys gave us a lot to cheer & be thankful for. I for one have been very proud of u guys all year & look forward to the season next year. You all have nothing to be ashamed of having finished one of the most impressive seasons in Oneida history. Good luck seniors in your future endeavors & underclassman get back in the weight room & work your butts off again & pick up where you left off this year & follow the leadership example your outgoing seniors left you. Next I want to congratulate a very good TC football team for a well played game. You are a very well coached disciplined team. I was very impressed w/your team & the amount of fans that follow you. You are very deserving of this win but i think you know for 2 weeks in a row that you been in a dog fight w/2 very worthy opponents. I hope you guys bring home the gold. You have this Injun's support next week.
I was very glad to meet some of the fellow coach t posters last nite. I don't post a lot on here but i like to read what everybody's thoughts were on the game. I met Pujo, Grunt, Seven, Ole3putt & tcrailbird & it was a pleasure to talk w/u guys for a few min b4 the game. You all are a good bunch of guys. Good Luck this week & I may take u up on your offer Ole3putt to come watch you guys this week. If I do then I may look u up. Good luck Jackets!

I wasn't implying that you had said anything negative about any one on the team or staff I was just trying to agree with you about the PCC program.As for as I am concerned I think its great the OHS coaches and staff are taking it upon themselves to teach young players to conduct themselves to make a positive impact upon the alma mater I wish it would catch on everwhere.As for the fans you spoke of yes there are some that that make a negative impact in others eyes,but you like I both know you are going to find them everywhere.That doesn't necessarly make them aggrogant they may just be caught up in the moment and later regret their actions after they thought about it.I too agree no one should overlook and disrespect any team or their fans and think that the fans are for the most part that are doing the overlooking.The coaches and players from any team if they are smart should know better than to do that.I'm sure OHS and TC are doing exactly that taking it a game at a time.Best of luck to both teams /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
Ok I think we are pretty much on the same page bout most of this. I'm sure both teams are not overlooking anybody if they got this far & I bet they are focused on each other. I know we have fans that make us look bad too & they can give the whole school a black eye & it makes me mad to see anybody from Oneida act like that.

I believe that the coaches teaching PCC is a good thing and OHS coaches should be commended for it but , TC believe it or not believes also in PCC. TC players and coaches don't believe for one moment that any of the Jackets should be arrogant,belittling,or taunting the fans or any of OHS players.If TC scores they hand the ball to the ref and gear up for the extra points nothing else.I'm sure OHS are the same if TC does perhaps win I honestly believe they will shake your hand and tell you good game thats players and coaches,if OHS wins I'm sure it will be the same. I think it will be a great game Fri. night OHS is a sound team getting this far proves that without a doubt.TC is playing well even though SP tooks us to the wire and gave the Jackets everything they had and it took all we had to withstand the onslaught they are a great team.I'm looking foward to it I used to drive a truck and deliver to piggly wiggly there years ago met and laughed with a lot of the folks there. I read in a earlier post that it was gone now too bad.I hope the weather is clear and no injuries for either team just good ol fashion football.
Oddly enough I'm not talking bout the team or coaches from TC. I haven't mentioned them one time. I'm talking bout some of the TC fans who choose to be so arrogant. However, there are also some very classy TC fans on here & from what I gather on here you would fall into that category. I have the utmost respect for TC or any other opponent & have always been taught to never overlook or disrespect any opponent no matter how confident you are. On the other hand I don't think we should be shaking in our boots like some people think. Both teams are well coached, disciplined very good football teams & the team that makes the fewest mistakes will prevail. That is the closest to a prediction I can make cause I don't know how it will all play out. After watching both these teams play oneida is done trousdale will win this game big 42 to 14!
Oneida is getting stronger & more impressive every game. I hardly think TC gonna put up 42 on our D. Greenback put up 13 legitimate points against us in 2 games & they have an outstanding offence. They had another TD off a very questionable fumble recovery that left them w/a short field & one off our reserves. Well there is a difference in stirring the pot (being arrogant) vs. belittling what the coaches are trying to instill in their players. My son will be moving up from the middle school to the high school next year & I personally can't wait for him to play on that team. Those coaches do a wonderful job in teaching their players P.C.C.

Ole Tushhog has seen a few teams emerge from tha Creekbank over the years. This bunch of Headhunters that we have this year compare alot like the lads that took tha Gold Ball tha last time IMO. They dont know when to quit. They improve with every play. A well oiled machine.
Obviously you & SOME of the other TC fans could take some lessons from TL on what P.C.C. (PRIDE, CLASS & CHARACTER) is all about. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Win or lose our team will exhibit those things so mouth all u want. The person that told me that is very, very close to the coaching staff.
He may have meant that he wanted the tape of Friday's game so he'd have film on both teams.
But I was told he asked for film specifically on SP.
Well TL told me himself that he was exchanging all 3 playoff films for all 3 of TC's playoff films yesterday

Amen Sledge. I GUARANTEE that TL, the rest of the staff & players were focused on GB & nothing else till that game was over. I know TL & he is very humble & in no way that arrogant to be asking for game film when the business @ hand wasn't finished. But I bet that he has talked to Vic @ SP bout some film of last nite's game though.

What was the score of Oneida's first round play off game?
It was 41 - 0 in the 2nd when TL called off the dogs & pulled the starters. Cloudland scored 18 in 2nd half against our reserves.

I agree it was a little too much - but to be honest - there's not a lot of excitement in Greenback. It was a big game for us. I wasn't on Oneida's side nor did I have a truck pulled up to the fence - so I can't speak for them - but I would hope that they behaved themselves. I do know that we handed out candy to several trick or treaters, including kids from Oneida and I was tickled to death that they came and had a little bit of Halloween. One bad fan makes us all look bad and unfortunately that's the taste that sticks in your mouth. I remember playing basketball up at Oneida in 1991 and this older man told me I stunk. I'll never forget that - but it was him not Oneida.

Dont get me wrong. the overall atmosphere & excitement was great. I had a wonderful time even though I was a little aggravated over the whole fence thing. However, I stood next to some people from GB & Alcoa who were really friendly & we talked throughout the game w/no animosity being for different teams. Some people know how to conduct themselves & some dont. Im sure we probably will have some unruly fans @ the game this fri. too but I hope they remember where they are from & that they reflect on the whole community & act responsibly. Im sorry someone from here was so rude to you. I hope we have an exciting game fri w/no injuries to either team. I know the atmosphere will be as good or better than the first meeting was.
